Facing the rare rejection, Bai Yan was speechless. He was confused, no one had ever rejected an opportunity to meet his master. He could not help but confirm his guess, “Miss Ba… Miss Jinli, do you know who my sir is?”

Shaking her head, she replied frankly, “No clue at all.”

“Mis Jinli, you don’t know how many people would die for a chance to queue up and request a short audience with my master.” Bai Yan immediately threw in cues and hints, coaxing her to change her mind , “Should you decide to meet him, your career would definitely accelerate by leaps and bounds!”

That promise shook Jinli, but she steeled her resolve, and rejected the invitation yet again. After all, unsolicited perfect opportunities were bound to hide unknown intentions.

She looked at Bai Yan and questioned, “That sir of yours asked for Miss Bai, right?”

Bai Yan nodded. Hm, sounds about right.

She shrugged, “Oh man, you got the worng person! He wants to meet Miss Bai, what has that got to do with me, Jinli?”

This time, he was seriously at a loss for words.

He stood motionless like the Statue of Liberty, stunned speechless. For the first time in his life, he was unable to come up with an answer.
