Loving You: A Blessing or a Curse?

At the meeting, Su Lian arranged things and appointed some people in temporary positions to fill up the ones left by those who had conspired together in the embezzlement with Jim Silva.

The meeting went smoothly and Su Lian successfully assimilated into Infinity Corp China. Even though she was young, no one had any reservations. Not only were her arrangements very suitable, but she was also their boss. Who had not heard of what happened to Wei Xiang?

"Ms. Su since it's lunch would you like a tour of some of the facilities we have in this city?"

A tall man in his late thirties asked Su Lian as she was leaving the conference room with Bella.

"Thank you, but not today. I already made plans this afternoon."

Su Lian and Bella walked towards her parked Rolls-Royce.

"Miss, what should I order you for lunch?"

Bella thought Su Lian had only told the man that she had plans to get him to leave her alone. Which is something that she does very often.

"Hire a taxi for me."

"A taxi? Ms. your car is right here."

Su Lian shook her head. "It's too flashy for where I'm going."

Bella nodded and called a taxi for Su Lian. It arrived very quickly. Before getting on Su Lian turned to look at her secretary.

"Once I'm done with what I have to do, I will pick Xiao Chen up from school. Then I'll come back so we can go shopping."

Su Lian told the taxi driver where she was headed and they sped off, disappearing into the distance.

She stared out the window while thinking about all she has missed these past four years.

Had her father tried looking for her?

Probably not.

A message came into her phone she glanced at it and saw it was a text from Ryan.

She smiled at the notification before opening it up.

Ryan: 'What sort of boss leaves her assistant hanging?'

Su Lian: 'Sorry something came up.'

Ryan: 'That's a lie. Nothing came up, you've planned to ditch me right from the start.'

Su Lian laughed despite herself. Ryan knew her too well.

Su Lian: 'Fine I'm sorry. I'll see you later in the afternoon. Have all the documents on Wei Xiang ready.'

Ryan: 'I'll let you off this once.'

The driver pulled up to her destination and Su Lian took a deep breath.

No more running. It was time to start facing her past like a grown adult.
