Loving You: A Blessing or a Curse?

Su Feng's body trembles.

"I've raised a disgrace. An ingrate. You dare harass and threaten to lock up the woman who raised you after your mother died. Do you have any conscience? Where are your morals?"

"Conscience? Morals? I'm sorry to say, but you're not qualified to discuss these things with to me. Exactly whose fault is it that my mother died? Who was the one who cheated on her and raised a bastard outside?" Su Lian's eyes turn cold and she glares fiercely at the man before her. She turns around preparing to leave the study. "Since you won't hand over the items peacefully, then I'll have the law enforcement officers get it from you."

Qin Rong looks visibly shaken and before she can chase after her, Su Feng stands up and slams his fist on his desk.

"Wait, don't go anywhere."

He wasn't scared of her calling the police. With his status, they can't cause too much trouble for him.

What he is afraid of is her deciding to cut all ties with him. In his eyes, this daughter is still a very useful chess piece.

No matter how unhappy he is about her disappearing and coming back disrespectful, he can't let her leave. Not only does his father like her a lot, but her marriage into the Li family would bring him lots of benefits.

Also, he could ask her to convince Yun Dongmei to stop oppressing his company with her Yun family connections.

After weighing the value of Su Lian, Su Feng decides to indulge her.

"Rong, go bring all the things she asked for."

"I-I-"

All of those items were so beautiful and valuable. How could Qin Rong be willing to give them away?

"Go bring them now!" Su Feng blares at her before she can even raise a protest.

Under his pressure, Qin Rong scurries off and comes back with a trunk of precious items.

With bloodshot eyes, she reluctantly hands it over to Su Lian who briefly looks at them before nodding her head.

"That's all, I'm leaving now."

Qin Rong is visibly startled.

She gave her all of Tang Xiu's things because she thought that she would move back in. She would be able to snatch them back at a later date. But if she leaves the house with these things, she might not be able to see them again. She immediately regrets giving her the whole trunk.

Su Feng does not notice her grief, he just nods his head.

"It's alright. Just make sure you attend your grandfather's birthday celebration. You know when you were little, he pampered you the most."

Su Lian doesn't say whether she'll come or not, she just closes the trunk and leaves the study.

Pulling along a suitcase, she walks out the gate and leaves the lovely mansion where she had lived for more than half her life without looking back.

Would she return?

Certainly not.
