Unlike Yan Cheng, she didn’t choose to live her days ignorantly and worry-free. She still considered the things that she needed to.

From Yan Cheng’s hesitating expression on the call before, Chen Jinyao had a guess as to why her mother-in-law wanted them to eat dinner at home. To speak the truth, her mother-in-law’s thoughts weren’t strange. In fact, she thought that it was a bit later than she expected.

Chen Jinyao walked to Yan Cheng and looked down at him.

She thought about it before cupping his face with her two hands. They made eye contact for a few seconds and Chen Jinyao exclaimed calmly as if she knew everything. “You don’t know but my mother would text me every two days.”

Yan Cheng’s gaze flickered a bit and he glanced at her quietly, well-behaved.

He seemed to be silently telling her to continue talking.

Her eyelashes slightly flickered. Chen Jinyao curled the corner of her lips up and ended up saying everything in one breath, “She keeps on sending me links to random things. The content reveals the golden age for women to get pregnant and what not. The links say that babies born in the year of the dog will live a successful and smooth life, and what not.”

“So as you can see, my mother wants me to give birth to a chubby grandson tomorrow already! We’ve been married for a long time, and it’s inevitable that this would happen.”

Chen Jinyao tilted her head and faintly smiled. “You think that I haven’t dealt with that before?”

Yan Cheng shifted his gaze.

Two families were always involved in Chinese marriages.

It wasn’t as simple as the couple falling in love with each other.

The couples could plan out their future lives together. They’d live in harmony for a while in their couple’s world until the two families silently pressure them. The parents believed that couples could only form a happy family when they had a child. Or rather, they had the thought of carrying on the family’s ancestral line. As a result, they wanted to intervene in their children’s marriage, attempting to add oil to the fire.

This was a frequent occurrence to the point where everyone believed it was normal.

Whenever seniors pressured their children, effect and countereffect co-existed.

Right now, Chen Jinyao felt no pressure. Instead, she acted frank and open.

To speak the truth, if this pressure had come earlier, she might’ve felt anxious and impatient. But it was different now. She thought that Yan Cheng was pretty reliable. After her worry vanished, the rest of the miscellaneous issues weren’t really issues. Plus…

“Didn’t you start to give up on smoking?” Chen Jinyao lightly pinched Yan Cheng’s cheeks and then rubbed them. “This proves that we’re already in the process of getting a child. Since we’re already putting their thoughts to action, why should we be scared that they’ll rush us?”

“That’s true.” Yan Cheng came to a realization right now and lifted his brows, nodding.

He thought back to the cute and adorable little daughter they talked about last time. He really crawled out of a dead end. At the same time, he understood where Mother Yan was coming from.

From a certain degree, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law had a wonderful relationship.

He was too young after all. Right now, he was blinded by the thought of having a daughter. He didn’t work to get some more couple’s time together. Young Master Yan had no idea what ‘regret’ was.

How should one say this? He was used to being his own ancestor. He never thought that one day, a little ancestor would climb on his head and act like a tyrant.
