118. Manlou Show Up, Danger!

“You seem to know Wulin Assembly well. It isn’t your first time here, is it?” Du Chuxuan took a look around the venue and noticed that almost every sect and person were present, many of which and whom he was acquainted with. Yet this man next to him didn’t greet anybody. Clearly he didn’t know them.

“Sure. But I just come for the fun.” Ashina Yi chuckled with the corner of his lips curved, which was covered by his mask. One couldn’t tell if he was laughing just from the sound he made.

Du Chuxuan certainly didn’t believe him. He hid his face in fear that the Third Prince might find him similar to the crown princess and have suspicion. This man was the poster child for ostentation. He said that he didn’t care which seat he took only made it more obvious that he did care.

Putting that behind him, Du Chuxuan extended his hand. “I’ve had a good time today. Now, it’s just getting boring. If you don’t mind, I’m leaving.” Then, not paying attention to Ashina Yi’s reaction, he left with Yuxing Tianrui directly.

“Luo Yi, do you have the result?” All the way back to the hotel, Du Chuxuan was finally relieved after making sure he wasn’t followed. However, he didn’t intend to get rid of his mask for the next two days. If he was indeed ambushed, he didn’t need to worry about exposing himself.

“My Lord,” Luo Yi fell on his knees abruptly. “Lei Yuan was very mysterious. Men from five sects went after him, but all lost him.” He was embarrassed to speak about it. Lei Yuan’s identity was still a mystery, who disappeared into the forest after a few strides.

If he wasn’t quick enough, he would have been hit by Lei Yuan’s darts. The thought of Lei Yuan’s weird martial arts skills made him upset. If there hadn’t been so many trees, he wouldn’t have come back empty-handed.

“You mean, all five sects have lost him?” Du Chuxuan was slightly surprised.

“Yes. Except us, each sect has suffered mild injuries.” Luo Yi didn’t think it was something he could be proud of. Instead, he was cautious of Lei Yuan’s ability.

Buried in thought, Du Chuxuan didn’t think Lei Yuan need to get away so fast unless he had secrets.

“Tell it to Chang Guangqing. Lei Yuan’s ability is similar to the one we want to find.” Putting Lei Yuan’s bead aside, he was able to lose several martial arts master hands quickly meant he would have no problem taking away a few girls.

“Here’s a report on martial arts master hands of Manlou who attended today’s assembly.” Before he left, Luo Yi handed in a report.

It came from Sect Luo, and covered everything possible. In fact, Manlou was similar to Sect Luo in many ways, the only difference being that it only cultivated assassins. Besides, it also recruited assassins, and even grant shelter to some extremely evil ones who were sought after by their enemies.

That was why Manlou could stir up trouble in Wulin and still had people coming to it with deals. One could barely find another bunch of people who disregard their lives more.

“Huh, all heavy weights this time.” Du Chuxuan had a good memory. There were exactly ten people standing at the north-east corner in the venue. Ten was a small number competition-wise. Yet they all held important positions in Manlou, in Wulin as well.

With his finger pointing at a particular piece of information, Du Chuxuan was a bit confused. “Isn’t it said that Manlou is careful to hide itself? How do you manage to get such detailed information like who holds what position?”

Yuxing Tianrui, on the contrary, wasn’t surprised at all. After a moment of thought, he replied, “Manlou has always been secretive to those who aren’t powerful enough to establish contact with it.” He looked out of the window. Even he had to admit that Manlou’s headquarters was still hidden in the dark.

“You mean, all those men live together but nobody that doesn’t belong to Manlou knows that location?” Clearly, Du Chuxuan didn’t buy that. If so, how could one find them when one sought it for a mission?

“You fool! Do you think everyone wears his identity like a mask?” Jiu Dengdan snickered. “Those who want to work with Manlou go to the black market, from where they pass the news to Manlou which undertakes the mission as long as the price is high. Once Manlou accepts the mission, the one that publishes it will learn about it in return.”

Jiu Dengdan’s explanation finally solved Du Chuxuan’s question. Manlou was a lot like Sect Luo, yet it was totally different in some respects.

Sect Luo had its own headquarters and cultivated the majority of its talents from a very young age in order to inspire loyalty. Besides, it preferred to focus on an individual level. Almost every member had another identity in real life, who at the same time worked for Sect Luo.

However, Manlou was totally opposite. Recruiting whatever man that was useful, it was interest rather than faith that took them together. But it had to be said that at times interest was more powerful than faith, wasn’t it?

“These are all difficult men.” Having read through the report, Du Chuxuan took a deep breath.

Sect Luo had a ranking for atrocious men, the first three of whom all came from Manlou, and all turned up at the assembly. Moreover, another two of the first ten among the list also came.

In addition to that, Manlou had sent here two directors and one commander. Given this arrangement, it was obvious that it came for the position of the chief.

“Let’s not rush to any conclusions.” Yuxing Tianrui shook his head. “Now that Manlou is in touch with people from the four great families, it should know that my father attaches great importance to the chief of Wulin. He won’t agree to it if one of Manlou becomes the chief. I believe it won’t do something as stupid as that.”

“But the assembly is held with all martial arts masters present. Even if father isn’t happy with the result, given the fact that he is far away, when he gets the news, he has no alternative but to draw it over to his side, right?” Du Chuxuan asked in return.
