Jiang Cheng gulped as he looked at the door before him. This is his room. He thought and took a deep breath. He raised his hand to knock, but a second later and it trembled.

Not good. He thought and grimaced, his face flushed as he looked away. I'm really still not prepared to face him –

He took a deep breath to calm himself. "Sect Leader Lan." He called from the closed door. "It's Sect Leader Jiang." He said. "I am here to ask if Sect Leader Lan is fine now?" he asked, referring to the last time – during Wei Wuxian's birthday party, that Lan Xichen suddenly collapsed.

Nobody answered. He waited for a few minutes before his forehead knotted. Is he not here - ? he thought. He was about to leave when he heard a soft and melodious voice from inside the room.

"Sect Leader Jiang."

He froze and felt his heart leapt from his chest. It's him. He thought, his heart beating fast and he held his chest, afraid that the man from the other side of the door might hear his fast heartbeat.

"I am fine right now." He told him.

Jiang Cheng paused and looked at the door before him. He is... he thought, noticed that the voice is somewhat cold.

What do you expect? He thought, mocking himself. After leaving him to his fellow sect members during that night, you think he'd fawn all over you? He thought and grimaced. Most importantly –

His face went serious as he lowered his head, hiding the pain that crossed in his eyes. You seriously think he likes, much less love, you? He thought and closed his eyes tight. I know.... He thought. He only sees me as his past self, that's why he helped me. He...

He bit his lip as he lowered his head. "I see." He said. "I'll be leaving, then, Sect Leader Lan." He told him from the outside.

He... only loves Jin Guangyao. He thought as tears started to form in his eyes. He has an idea, since he knew it from Wei Wuxian (and LWJ) that the reason why Lan Xichen is like this right now is because of Jin Guangyao – he visited his grave during that week of his (LXC) disappearance, which he never told anybody – not even his own family and sect, of his whereabouts.

He deeply loves Jin Guangyao. He thought. Even if Wei Wuxian (and LWJ) already told him what's the two's (LXC and JGY) relationship clearly, yet...

Seeing the actions rather than listening to the words is much better. He thought and forced a smile as he quietly left.

Or so he thought. A second later and the door opened. A screaming Lan Xichen flew out and directly fell on Jiang Cheng.

What's more surprising is that, their his (LXC) lips 'fell' on his (JC's lips), too.
