"Aaaaaah - !" Jiang Cheng screamed after he buried his face on his pillow. The past few days, he kept hearing about Lan Xichen's name around him.

After the moment he realized his embarrassment, he kept avoiding the other person as possible as he could. His face always goes red in embarrassment every time he sees that person's smile, thinking that the person smiled at him because he remembers that 'smile' of his (JC).

And now, he's at his wit's end. Seems like he can't avoid the person anymore. After all, they're both sect leaders, and their brothers (WWX and LWJ) are married to each other.

Ah. He thought. This makes them (JC and LXC) brothers-in-law, right? he thought, then dark lines covered his face.

This just makes him unable to avoid the person more.

The next day.

"Sect Leader Jiang." Lan Xichen said and smiled brightly at him as he bowed.

"Sect Leader Lan." Jiang Cheng said and bowed, keeping his face as blank as possible.

Like what he expected, the day for them to cross paths arrived sooner. It's the meeting between the sect leaders.

"Sect Leader Jiang." Lan Xichen called him when he passed by him.

"Hm - ?" Jiang Cheng said and turned.

"May I speak with you after this?" Lan Xichen asked.

"… eh?" Jiang Cheng said and looked at Lan Xichen's gentle face.

But, his gentle face is serious.

"I have something important to tell you." He told him, then bowed. He walked towards his seat.

Eh? Jiang Cheng thought as his eyes followed Lan Xichen. "… eh?" he said, puzzled.

What could be something so important he needs to tell him? Jiang Cheng thought, puzzled and curious, and so his mind is somewhere else during the meeting.

This made the other sect leaders, aside from Lan Xichen, glare at him, thinking he's acting high and mighty again.

"Sect Leader Jiang." Lan Xichen called when he saw Jiang Cheng went out of the hall where the meeting was held.

Jiang Cheng stretched his limbs before turning. "Hm?" he said and saw Lan Xichen walking towards him. "Sect Leader Lan." He said and lazily stood straight, his hand on his waist while the other is on the hilt of his sword, earning him an easygoing stance. "What was it that you wanted to talk about?" he asked, remembered what Lan Xichen told him before the meeting.

But, Lan Xichen didn't answer. He stared at him for a long time. Jiang Cheng, after two minutes of being stared at by those unnerving eyes, making you can't fathom the depths of the other's thoughts, grimaced and a sweat broke in his face.

When he's about to speak, can't take the burning gaze anymore, Lan Xichen finally spoke.

"Oh. I'm really sorry." He said. "I forgot it in the middle of the meeting earlier." He told him.

Jiang Cheng blinked. "What?" he said.

Lan Xichen apologetically smiled. "I deeply apologize, Sect Leader Jiang." He said and bowed. "I didn't intend to take your time." He said and looked at him in the eye.

That gaze again… Jiang Cheng thought. Staring back at those dark but warm eyes staring at him.

"… I didn't… want to see you…" Lan Xichen muttered, his voice so low.

"Huh?" Jiang Cheng said, clearly didn't hear what the other said.

Lan Xichen raised his head and forced a smile. "It's nothing." He said. "I apologize again, Sect Leader Jiang." He told him and bowed. He then silently left, his pure white sleeves of his robe is gently fluttering as he walks.

"… what the hell was that?" Jiang Cheng muttered, more puzzled than before.

He didn't know… his wish (not to see Lan Xichen) will come true.
