She beamed at him with undisguised joy now that her biggest problem was finally solved.

Ning Youyou looked at the food in front of him that was still untouched. “The food here doesn’t seem to agree with you. Shall we go for something else?”

Then, Ning Youyou left to pay for the supper that they had hastily ended. She went up to him again to confirm their agreement.

“Sure,” Mu Shaoqing gently replied.

They stopped by the road where Ning Youyou called for a taxi. “Mr. Mu, you should take the ride. It’s been such a hassle for you all day, so let me pay for your ride home,” she kindly offered.

Mu Shaoqing looked at her fixedly and said in a soft voice, “There’s no need for that. You should go. I still have some matters to attend to.”

She knew that he would be displeased if she were to make another long-drawn persuasion.

It was about time to go home anyway, or her parents would surely be worried. With that in mind, she promptly took the ride for herself.

Seconds later, the taxi came to an abrupt stop. Ning Youyou wound down the window and stretched out her head to make another inquiry.

“Mu, what’s your phone number? May I have it? It’ll be easier for us to get in touch three days later.”

Mu Shaoqing took a hurried look at Ning Youyou and was bemused by her sudden question, for she was the first woman who had ever asked for his phone number so openly. However, he still went on and told her his number.

In haste, Ning Youyou took out her phone to save the number, though she had memorized it by heart. The crack on her screen made it difficult for her to access her contacts, but luckily, she had a good memory. It only took her one time to type his number correctly.

Soon, Mu Shaoqing’s phone began ringing.

Smilingly, Ning Youyou waved her phone at him. “This is my number. Save it down!”

Mu Shaoqing watched as the taxi drove away. He then made a call and informed the person on the other line about his current location.

It took less than three minutes for a black vehicle to stop by before his eyes.

Tang An emerged from the car and opened the door courteously. “Please.”

Mu Shaoqing entered the car without saying a word.

The car began driving in the opposite direction to where Ning Youyou was headed.

While in the car, Mu Shaoqing could not help but play with his phone. There was still a missed call on the screen, which was fro Ning Youyou just a moment ago.

He was hesitant about saving her number, but he did it anyway. Swiftly, he typed out her contact name – Little Kitten.

“Tang An, is the company’s annual ball in three days?”
