Anger surged up within her as she struggled to break free but could not. He squeezed his arms even tighter around her waist to stop her from moving.

“Stop fighting. Be a good girl, and let me have a kiss. I’ll promote you as my assistant in return. What do you think? Take the offer while you can,” he said while blowing warm air into her ear.

“Let go!” His offer was met with cries of anger. She gathered her strength and gave him a strong push.

He was caught off guard and was pushed aside.

Ning Youyou stared at him with a cruel gleam in her eyes and raised her voice as she said, “Disgusting!”

Just when she was about to leave, he began threatening her.

“You may leave, but if you go now, you’ll lose your only chance of working in BLOVE.”

Ning Youyou stopped at the intimidation by the manager who threatened to destroy her career.

“I must admit, I’m interested in you. Well, I can give you everything you want, as long as you choose to obey me. You can have any bags or dresses that you like. I’ll buy them all for you.”

“Of course, you may leave, but if you leave now, I’ll fire you immediately. Rest assured that you’ll never find another job with the same prospects. If that’s what you want, you may just leave.”

That was a threat. That was definitely a threat.

Ning Youyou flushed crimson with indignation at the thought of it. She bit her lips and squeezed her bag so tightly as she began trembling with rage.

With a deep breath, she tried hard to calm herself before she swiftly turned around. She walked towards the manager with a charming smile, and he was pleased to see the change. “What a good girl,” he said contentedly.

Ning Youyou did not look him in the eye and walked straight to the manager. He honestly thought that she had changed her mind, so he let his guards down.

While he was not paying attention, Ning Youyou gave the manager a devastating kick in the groin with all the strength that she had.

“Asshole!”

The manager was immobilized by pain and began groaning in agony.

She needed to leave immediately in order to protect herself.

“Don’t you dare run away! Stay where you are!”

Ning Youyou did not even look back, no matter how much he yelled at her. All she could think of was to run away.

She seemed rather flustered, worried that the manager might still be in pursuit. She was so eager to run away that she was unaware of her surroundings and bumped into a man around the corner.

“Sorry!” She did not even hold her head up when she apologized. Gently, she nudged the man out of her way so that she could leave before getting into any further trouble.

Her attempt was in vain as almost immediately; she could feel the man’s arms pulling her back.

“Why are you running?”

She was dumbstruck by the simple question, as the voice of the man sounded familiar, which reminded her of someone.

Still trembling, she held her head up and saw the face of a man with a grim expression. In an instant, she was dumbfounded by the sight that met her eyes.

A moment later, tears began gathering in her eyes.

While she was still caught in the surprise, the manager finally pulled himself together and stood on his feet. He looked rather pathetic and had to cover his groin while running just to ease the pain.
