The Valtellina Valley is located in the mountains of northern Lombardy. The Ada River, a tributary of the Po River originating from Lake Concano in the Rhaetian Alps, flows through this valley and brings to it Sondrio, Morbegno and Coco. The three towns of Rico, where the fertile land is very conducive to the development of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry.

It is precisely because it is relatively rich and the terrain is similar, so the 57th Division, which is currently the focus of the army, was arranged to be formed here.
