The room was dark as the only source of light shined brightly outside. An auspicious moon .
"Hmm!"
A pain shot through her head and seared through her entire body. She tried lifting her hands but found it strangely heavy, not from numbness or pain either, but from what could be considered an extra weight.
She tried pulling her hands away but the person clung tightly to her like an insecure child.
What the hell is this?
She could only utter profanities under her breath as she attempted for the last time, yet, the situation got stickier.
She gave up and tried to understand her environment, from the weight and broadness of the arm she could deduce it was a man holding her.
Daejong? Nah! definitely not him. He has hairy hands.
Her older brother?Nope! He wouldn't dare hold an injured person in this manner, and definitely not her.
Her dad? ruled out too, he would have at least lighted the room and his hands are certainly not this smooth and wrinkle-free,though, there are some calluses which are scratching her soft skin.
Wait!
Calluses? hands of a warrior?
Please don't tell her it's the phantom alpha who is clinging onto her like a child.
She used her less occupied hands to search around him, there it was, the caricature mask he wore.
The man stirred more noisingly causing her to drop dead. It's better to act dead so as to plan her escape plan efficiently, what she didn't expect was to find herself fast asleep till the next morning.
A warm clothing was felt on her body, the sweet smell of an ointment wafted through her nose elevating her mood. It was so heavenly she forgot she was in a possible enemy's territory, opening her eyes, they met eyeball to eyeball.
Fiddlesticks!
What if the man decides to do away with her pathetic body because she had seen her face?
Quickly, she put to play a plan B she never conceived.
"Oppa!"
He was fl.u.s.tered when he found her suddenly staring at her and with his mask off, he had wanted to knock her off then feed her something that will wipe her memory but this new development satisfied and rattled him too.
That voice, though slightly hoarse was the most sonorous voice he had ever heard. It had a strong attraction that compelled one to protect the owner. He searched through her eyes to find a sign of deceit or falsity but was greeted with a pair of watery eyes which looked innocent and felt aggrieved.
"Oppa?" she repeated again, this time more aggrieved. "I'm hungry!"
He was at lost for words as this strange behavior wasn't within expectations.
"What is my name?" he asked with a deep bass voice that might scare a child, but Myung OK wasn't one to be easily scared and continued carefree in her chosen role.
"Roasted chicken?"
"Rice porridge?"
"Beetle beans soaked in octopus stew?"
"I don't know 'my name'"
She pretended to think deeply but ended up spurting more nonsense.
"I definitely like all those except pork meat. Oppa, my name is not roasted pork, I definitely won't answer fried pork"
The man found it hilarious but more hopeless as it seems Daejong's beloved woman has lost her memories and has been reduced to a stupid child.
"Oppa, I'm hungry!" She reminded him and tried sitting up. He rushed his hands out to steady her making a tight knot of disgust form in her belly which she masked with the constant flashing of her 32 teeth.
It has been proven this person's intention is not good, if not, her arrows would have been around her or unexpectedly, Daejong.
He left the room, probably to get the food and almost immediately she started to crawl towards the door.
Her pains shot up again.
Damn it! her body hasn't healed fully, though she must confess good herbs and the best ointment has been used on her but she's still human and not machinery. She looked back to see a tonic which had a fragrance of red ginseng. Dude must be the Lord of a big organization or strictly speaking, stinkingly rich to have the rare red ginseng!
But how many days exactly has she wasted there?
Myriads of questions filled her mind, but she already burnt every means of obtaining information; by playing a dumb child.
She barely crawled to a window and unfastened it panting when thick fogs filled her visage obstructing her from seeing properly. She could only lock back the door in anger. Why is nature suddenly against her? At least, it's not that early.
For that brief moment, people saw and confirmed she had awoken as the doctor they sent predicted she would.
A tall statue-like human stood unshaken as he folded back the locally made binoculars he used on spying on them. His robe was really deceiving as it hid every bodily attributes bequeathed to a person by nature. On his head was a bamboo hat complimented with a black veil which gave off an eerie feeling of danger. His gloves looked huge and so black you would believe it oozes out the colour. The legs which were covered with wide pants revealed the metallic book which looked like weapon of destruction. Everything on his body screamed of superiority that shouldn't be messed with.
Well, someone that could walk with black veil should be feared terribly. He turned to go rustling up some air, yet his robe didn't flutter as it seemed like one not belonging to earth.
"Master, I thought you wanted to rescue her?"
A middle-aged man who looked like a practitioner of martial arts asked.
The man turned around, retrieved a brush and wrote with a black ink as fast as possible.
"I won't, Daejong will," he handed the letter over to him but snatched it back so swiftly the man didn't see the content and added.
"Saved her once, owe her nothing."
He handed the letter, and like a wind disappeared.
The middle-aged man remained mouth agape with the sentences.
One human, two lines of sentences but ten different handwriting. None of them took resemblance to each other and won't be believed to be written by one person.
Who exactly is this their new and powerful leader? but he knew it would take years to find out.
