Never Forget Me

"I ordered it for you. I know you don't drink but I thought one cup would just allow you to have a brief experience of everything we have here. I say just try it this one time and then you can say that you tried it."

Modesty stared at Su Jin Wei for a minute, his suggestion was sound and it was just a tiny cup so she didn't think it would hurt. Since she heard sake had less alcohol than vodka or other liquors, then one taste couldn't hurt. Modesty nodded her head and took the cup, she downed it like a shot. Then started coughing so hard her eyes started to water. She then went to take a sip of water not seeing the ghost of a smile that passed across Su Jin Wei's face. He had ordered the strongest sake the restaurant had and Modesty hadn't eaten so the alcohol would hit her bloodstream fast and hard, he just hoped that it would work out in his favor.

"Are you okay?"

Modesty coughed a little more and then nodded her head.

"Yes."

She croaked out.

"It was just a little more than I expected. the burn hit me hard, I will never drink that again."

Su Jin Wei nodded his head.

"Understood."

The food arrived ten minutes later, Modesty was super excited because she was trying some new foods. She never had Ma Po Tofu, Peking Duck, or Chow Mein. Just your regular orange chicken or lo mein, she was excited to try something new. Especially the Peking duck she had never eaten duck before.

"Here try some of this."

Su Jin handed Modesty a cup and she sipped it.

"What is that? It tastes like alcohol but it is very sweet?"

Su Jin let her taste a little more then took his cup from her.

"It is called Aria. It is a sweet wine made here. I am thinking of investing in the winery that makes it. I thought that you would like to taste this since the sake was a little too much."

Modesty nodded her head.

"I will drink this one cup but no more alcohol for me."

Su Jin Wei nodded his head and just resumed eating his food. Halfway through the meal Modesty started fanning herself.

"Is it warm in here? I feel a little hot."

That ghost of a smile appeared on Su Jin Wei's face again, it was taking effect.
