One Piece: Path to Power

This is a bit late… I suppose.

As an FYI, my exams ended around 3 weeks ago (the reason for the hiatus) and my second semester started a day after the last exam. One of my courses was delayed a month due to a strike and it was pushed back due to it. Hence, the VERY late exam date.

I'm in Midterms season already...

Why haven't I uploaded since then? Well, I made a certain intent clear on Discord where I said I wanted to rework/rewrite the earlier parts of the fic.

The thought has remained for a long time now but I just pushed it aside. Even here I got some constructive comments on the problems and I do agree. Beyond that, after the Hiatus went into effect, I felt like at the rate I was going, the fic would eventually be dropped...

So I took more time to think it through and I do think it would be best for me to go back and fix what I think needs to be fixed.

In other words, a rewrite, in a sense, is due. I want a do-over of the first ~30-40 chapters whilst polishing and refining the ones beyond that.

Either this or my motivation will drop into the negatives, maybe not now but perhaps during the next midterm or final exam breaks. And, I don't want that…

So yeah, I don't have much more to say but thank you for reading so far. It was poor planning on my part where the first half of the book was, in my opinion, quite lacking. I tried to remedy things throughout the following arcs and it had varying results.

So I shall take return one day with something truly worthwhile… or so I hope.

FAQ:

Timeline for rewrite: A while.

General Changes: Full 3rd POV, better character workings. Fixing certain plot holes, i.e. Damien's age which was only put into order nearly 50 chapters in (so it really doesn't add up till like half the story so far). New backstory, less cliche, I guess. Polishing and refining work. System alterations. Many more.

Will I make a new fic or reupload here: I was thinking to make a new one and leave this to rot but I might not. I guess the only difference is the reviews being reset and the stats being forgotten (flex the ~8 million views that hold absolute zero value).

In general, I want the previous chapters to match the quality of those from chapter 100 and on. I would like to think I have improved a decent amount and that should be quite clear comparing the first half of the book with the latter half.

That's all for me… I just didn't want to leave the book on chapter 119 and dip, I find that quite unsettling to leave you all on hold like that. (Even though you did hang on to an imaginary rope for the past month).
