Oops, I Ate A Zombie

Millie stayed silent. The minutes passed, and Nora could almost hear her sister's brain in action. She knew Millie always took a long time to digest new informations, so she waited patiently. Finally, she regained her capacity to talk.

"So... What are you ?"

"I don't know."

"Alright... And you said you eat... Zombies ?"

"Yes."

"So they don't try to eat you but they hide from you ?"

"They ignore me, in fact."

"Are humans... On your menu, too ?"

"I didn't try yet."

"F*CK, don't scare the sh*t out of me ! You just needed to say "I don't know", not the "didn't try yet" !"

Nora sighed. Her sister seemed quite s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e with the choice of her words. But she didn't do it on purpose. She didn't meet any living person on her way, and she wasn't hungry right now.

"If you're afraid of me eating you, I can reassure you on one thing. I can feel my hunger, and I think I can find a zombie before turning mad and devouring anything on my way. Plus if I really turn crazy, you could hide or..."

Nora didn't end her sentence because she knew her sister would panic again if she heard "you could hide or kill me". Not that it was a pleasant thought for Nora, but they needed to know their options. What Nora really wanted to say was "please, don't be as freaked out as I am ! I don't want to be alone with those zombies, let me in so I can take a shower !" but she was the oldest, and her sister was already scared after those days trapped in an infested hospital.

"You seem to be used to this situation already."

"Not really. But if we keep on weening all the time, how do we survive ?"

She heard a deep sigh.

"I know you wouldn't eat me. I am clear you still have your consciousness and all. And if the worst happen, I can kick you out, right ? I'll talk to Daisy, give me a moment, okay ?"

"Okay."

This time it was Nora who sighed. She trusted her sister would let her come, but she didn't know about this woman called Daisy. Plus, she had a baby. If she wanted to protect her baby, maybe she wouldn't let that unknown creature enter their room. The anxiety came back and Nora started to walk in the office, restless. She waited a bit more before her sister started to talk again.

"It's all good, she agreed ! But could you bring us some food ? We finished the snacks I brought. Oh, and we have a way to go out. Maybe. We'll explain later, see you soon !"

She hanged up and Nora looked at the phone. Why did she feel she already assisted at this scene ? Ah, yes, the strange woman with her George. Whatever. Let's go search some food.
