Paying The Price

Her eyes may be playing tricks on her.

No! This can't be. Leon was hers and hers alone.

The kissing scene was unbearable for Sarah. A sharp pain pricked her intently. The world was not only still for Nikki but also for Sarah. Though the feelings differ, it was indescribable for both women.

Sarah withdrew from the scene, she held her c.h.e.s.t with one hand and covered her mouth with the other as she leaned against the wall. Everything played in the opposite direction of her expectations.

Her c.h.e.s.t rose and fell in agony, as tears slowly rolled down the face. She had spent years trying to get Leon's love and attention, all her years of hard work, all her scheming and planning, even with that night's incident, all invein losing to that low life.

No! No way would she lose to Nikki, a little lesson would fix everything. Nikki would pay dearly for ever crossing her path.

Last time she was mocked by that thing, she wasn't able to avenge herself but now she wouldn't let things go.

Cleaning her tears filled face, Sarah tried to look calm as she returned to the party. Swiftly, she sent a text and the receiver replied without hesitation.

Nikki would feel every bit of her pain ten times more.

Outside the building, Nikki was a little dazed and confused about what happened earlier, the breeze blew gently but she was swayed by it.

This was the first time a guy confessed his love for her. She was terribly lost.

Maybe she should give him a chance, but what about Sarah? and she wasn't a high class socialist, she couldn't complement Leon. What would his parents think? How would their relationship be?

All these thoughts were driving her crazy. She saw rejecting him as a peaceful option. But how would she tell tell him?

Her rejecting him didn't mean she doesn't love him, for his confession ignited a tiny spark inside her heart, the truth was that.... was that..... argh, he succeeded in messing up her brain.

The fifteen minutes walk to the bus stop increased to twenty minutes, Nikki took her time counting every step.

Although she was absent minded, she constantly felt she was being followed. Nikki turned around to confirm her instincts but found nothing and no-one. She decided to ignore and head towards the road where the bus stop was located not to far off.

Shocked to the bones by the sudden appearance of a mysterious man who intentionally blocked her way, Nikki turned to a different direction and encountered another roadblock in human form.

All around her fierce looking men obstructed her way and closed in on her, before she could react, someone from behind held her mouth while another held her legs, both men carried her to a nearby black van.
