"Boss, you went to the God Realm yesterday?"

Ling Feng nodded.

"Ok.

I went to take care of some errands.

Jin Chen did not ask any further questions.

"Is it all done?"

Ling Feng said, "It's done."

Jin Chen thought for a moment, then leaned the Trident of Poseidon on his shoulder.

"Will you go again in the future?"

Ling Feng said, "Perhaps."

Jin Chen didn't ask any more questions, but simply examined the trident again.

"Let me know when you're going."

Ling Feng nodded.

"it is good."

In the evening, Ling Feng went to the small courtyard in the east of the city.

Tang San was tending to a newly transplanted flower in the yard. He carefully pressed the soil at the base of the plant with his fingertips and watered it a little. His movements were slow, as if he was afraid of damaging the tiny roots.

Tang San noticed someone approaching, looked up and saw him, but didn't stop what he was doing.

"You're back."

Ling Feng sat down on the stone bench.

"I came back yesterday."

Tang San moved the potted plant to a shady corner, checked the moisture of the soil again, and then washed his hands by the basin of water.

He sat down on the stone bench opposite Ling Feng.

"I've recently been trying to repair an old dagger."

The blade has a nick, and it's taken a long time to sharpen it properly; it's much more difficult than I expected.

As he spoke, his gaze was lowered, as if he were savoring the feeling of that touch.

Ling Feng listened without interrupting him.

After Tang San finished speaking, he paused for a moment, then added, "But I'd still like to keep trying."

Ling Feng said, "Then let's keep trying."

Tang San nodded, a small gesture, but it looked like a definite decision.

As darkness fell, Ling Feng walked back along the alley in the east of the city.

The lights in the alley gradually came on, their dim, warm orange glow shining through the windows and casting long, thin shadows on the stone pavement.

He walked slowly, and along the way he saw several elderly people sitting and chatting at their doorways, a child squatting against a wall playing with a cat, and a woman taking in her clothesline.

They simply nodded slightly at him without saying anything more.

Jin Chen was also there for dinner.

He sat across the table, eating as he talked about his sparring session with several new recruits at the training ground during the day. He said they had a good foundation but were too slow to react and needed to practice their movement techniques more.

Ning Rongrong listened from the side, occasionally interjecting, "Then you teach them."

Jin Chen took a bite of rice and mumbled, "I taught him."

Whether they can learn it or not is up to them.

Ling Feng didn't interrupt, but listened quietly.

He sat on the veranda for a while that night.

Qian Renxue came out of the house, sat down next to him, and handed him a cup of tea.

"It seems like I didn't do anything today."

Ling Feng accepted the tea.

"Ok.

Nothing was done.

Qian Renxue said, "That's fine too."

Ling Feng took a sip of tea.

"I think it's pretty good too."

They sat under the veranda for a long time, until the moon rose high in the sky, its light bathing the entire courtyard, until the tea grew cold and the night breeze turned chilly.

Qian Renxue stood up.

"It's time to sleep."

Ling Feng said, "You go first."

I'll sit for a while longer.

Qian Renxue didn't urge him, but turned and walked into the house.

She paused at the door but didn't turn around.

"I'll brew some fresh tea tomorrow morning."

Ling Feng said, "Okay."

He sat on the veranda, finished his cup of tea which had gone cold, and heard the wind rustling through the leaves of the old locust tree.

He recalled a day many years ago, when the Spirit Hall was not yet an empire, and when he was still working hard for his next spirit ring.

He recalled those days of traveling, those evenings when he stood on the city wall looking into the distance, and those mornings when he repeatedly swung his staff in the training ground.

Those days are over.

He stood up, placed the empty teacup back on the tray under the eaves, and then turned and went inside.

The moonlight shone behind him, casting his short shadow on the bluestone slab, like a quiet confirmation.

He heard the footsteps of night patrol soldiers below the city wall, approaching and then receding, like a steady metronome.

One night, he sat on the city wall for a long time, so long that the moon had moved from the east to the zenith.

He suddenly felt a very light sound, as if it came from a very far place. He didn't hear it through his ears, but sensed it through the priestly mark that he had just confirmed within his body.

The voice said, "Come here."

Something's come up.

Ling Feng did not set off immediately.

He sat there, letting the remaining moonlight linger, then stood up, brushed the dust off his robes, and walked down the city wall.

The next morning, he stood in front of the offering hall and told Qian Renxue, "Something has come up in the divine realm, I need to go there."

Qian Renxue was watering the flowers in the yard. She put down the watering can and asked, "How long?"

Ling Feng thought for a moment and said, "It won't be long."

Qian Renxue didn't ask any further questions, only saying, "Then we'll wait for you to come back for lunch."

Ling Feng glanced at her, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he just nodded, and then a purple light shone, and he disappeared.

The sky over the Destroyer's Realm remains purple.

The God of Destruction stood before the palace, hands behind his back. When Ling Feng landed, he didn't even turn around, but simply kept his hands behind his back, as if he had been waiting for him all along.

“There is an area on the periphery that has been quite unstable recently.”

He said, "The activity patterns of several mythical beasts have deviated from their original range and have begun to move closer to the boundary."

Once the boundary is breached, the aura of the divine realm will leak into the lower realm, affecting ordinary soul masters and common people. While not fatal, it will cause them chronic insomnia, nightmares, and chaotic soul power.

Ling Feng remained silent for a moment.

"Do you need me to handle this?"

The god of destruction finally turned around.

"Let's go take a look."

If they're just lost, just guide them back to their original area.

If it's for some other reason, deal with it.

He said the words "get rid of" in a very flat tone, as if he were saying something that didn't need any further explanation.

Ling Feng did not answer immediately. He looked at the God of Destruction, his purple eyes devoid of any extra emotion.

"it is good."

Ling Feng said.

He set off along the route he had taken before.

He walked along the gray flagstone paths, past the now-calm depression, and across the silver meadow where the giant wolf had once lingered.

He didn't stop along the way, but he didn't deliberately speed up either. He just walked, one step after another, as if he were moving along a familiar path.

The wind blew past him, carrying the vast and empty atmosphere unique to the edge of the divine realm.

Chapter 306 Cultivating Trees is Like Cultivating the Mind

He found the area on the second day.

It was located on the edge of a fault line, with obvious cracks in the ground, like a stone slab that had been forcefully pried open.

The soil around the cracks was dark in color, as if it had been exposed to something for a long time.

He stood on the edge of the fault, his gaze sweeping across the surroundings, and saw a shadow moving slowly in the distance.
