Battle Through the Heavens: The Inner Struggle of Cultivation Brings Xiao Yan to Tears

……

Upon arriving at the training ground, Xiao Yang saw that there were only a handful of people there.

As soon as he entered the training ground, he prepared to find one of the instructors.

Just then, a boy who looked to be seventeen or eighteen years old called out to Xiao Yang.

"Xiao Yang, what brings you to the training ground?"

Although the other person was not as handsome as Xiao Yang, he was still considered good-looking.

He is Xiao Ning, the grandson of the eldest elder of the Xiao family.

The other party is only seventeen years old, but his cultivation has already reached the eighth level of Dou Qi.

This talent is considered quite good even within the Xiao family.

"Since you're here, you must be here to practice your fighting skills."

"How about we have a friendly spar?"

"After all, actual combat is definitely much more effective than practicing alone."

At this moment, Xiao Ning appeared outwardly gentle.

However, there was a hint of jealousy in his eyes.

It wasn't just jealousy of Xiao Yang's good looks, but also jealousy that Xiao Yang was one of the few people in the Xiao family who could talk to his goddess Xun'er.

Because of her good relationship with Xiao Yan, Xun'er did not distance herself from Xiao Yang as she did from others.

When the two met, they would chat for a few minutes from time to time.

When Xiao Ning encounters Xun'er, even if he tries to approach her, Xun'er will make an excuse to leave.

Just then, several boys behind Xiao Ning also started to cheer.

“Yeah, Xiao Yang, since we’re all here at the training ground to practice our fighting skills, why don’t we have a spar with Brother Ning?”

"That's right, let's see the strength of these two geniuses from the Xiao family!"

At this moment, the other juniors on the training field were also attracted by the commotion and started to cheer.

Looking at the jeering crowd, Xiao Ning's lips curled into a barely perceptible smile.

Upon hearing this, Xiao Yang glanced at Xiao Ning and secretly created a task.

[Mission: Defeat Xiao Ning using the Mountain-Splitting Fist in a sparring match. Reward: Mountain-Splitting Fist Proficiency +1, One Rejuvenating Elixir]

Looking at the mission rewards, he couldn't help but feel a surge of joy.

I never expected the reward to be so much.

Indeed, real-world practice is a better way to gain proficiency!

However, the reason for such a reward might be that Xiao Ning's cultivation level is higher than Xiao Yang's.

After all, Xiao Yang is only at the seventh level of Dou Qi.

Xiao Ning had only recently broken through to the eighth stage of Dou Qi.

"Then please give me your guidance, Cousin Xiao Ning."

Xiao Yang said something with a meaningful tone.

Upon hearing this, Xiao Ning was overjoyed.

Now that Xiao Yang has agreed, I have a chance to teach him a lesson.

The two walked onto the arena, which was specifically used for sparring in the training ground, and stood facing each other.

Xiao Ning struck a pose and looked at Xiao Yang, saying...

“My cultivation level is slightly higher than yours, Cousin Xiao Yang, so you should make the first move.”

"Then you'd better be careful, Cousin Xiao Ning."

After Xiao Yang finished speaking, he rushed towards Xiao Ning without the slightest hesitation.

At the same time, the fighting spirit within his body began to circulate.

Upon reaching Xiao Ning, Xiao Yang threw a punch directly at the latter's chest.

Upon seeing this, Xiao Ning shouted loudly.

"Stone-Splitting Palm!"

He then struck Xiao Yang's fist with a palm strike.

"Snapped!"

A fist and a palm collided.

Both of them involuntarily took a few steps back.

However, to everyone's surprise, Xiao Ning was forced to retreat four steps after this attack.

Xiao Yang, however, only took three steps back!

In other words, Xiao Yang actually gained the upper hand in this attack.

The people in the audience were somewhat surprised.

It should be noted that Xiao Ning's cultivation level is above Xiao Yang's!

In this head-on clash, it was actually Xiao Ning who suffered the loss!

"hiss--"

"Cousin Xiao Yang is so powerful!"

"He actually managed to gain the upper hand in a head-on confrontation with his cousin Xiao Ning!"

"As expected of Xiao Yang's cousin, he's not only good-looking but also very strong!"

Xiao Ning was also somewhat surprised at this moment, and he secretly shook his hand a few times after it touched Xiao Yang's.

His hand was a little sore at that moment.

After regaining his footing, Xiao Yang did not hesitate at all. He took a few more steps forward and threw a punch at Xiao Ning.

Xiao Ning felt a little scared at this moment, and he wanted to get out of the way.

However, their movement techniques were actually quite similar.

Xiao Ning was caught off guard and was punched in the chest by Xiao Yang.

With that punch, he staggered back several steps and fell to the ground.

"Cough, cough, cough!"

Seeing this, Xiao Yang did not go any further.

"Cousin Xiao Ning, shall we continue?"

"Why don't you take a rest first?"

Upon hearing this, Xiao Ning rubbed his chest and said.

"Ahem, Xiao Yang, your fist technique was quite good. I was careless this time."

"I have something to do today, let's spar another time."

After saying that, he left with a few of his underlings.

Despite this, everyone present could see that Xiao Ning had lost this time.

At that moment, Xiao Yang heard the system's mission completion notification in his mind.

Chapter 8 Profound-Rank Combat Techniques and Earth-Rank Combat Techniques

[Mission: Defeat Xiao Ning using the Mountain-Splitting Fist in the sparring match. Reward: Mountain-Splitting Fist Proficiency +1, one Rejuvenating Elixir. Completed. Claim reward?]

Upon hearing the familiar voice in his mind, Xiao Yang was overjoyed.

It might take me three days to complete a proficiency task on my own.

But now, it was completed after just one sparring session with Xiao Ning.

This is much easier than practicing the Mountain-Opening Fist a thousand times.

Xiao Yang turned to look at the combat instructor not far away and tried to create a mission.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to establish such a system if it's just for sparring missions.

As for other tasks, they are possible, and the rewards are quite generous, but...

[Mission: Defeat the instructor of the Xiao Family Fighting Hall using the Mountain-Splitting Fist in a sparring match. Rewards: Mountain-Splitting Fist Proficiency +5, Restoration Elixir +1, and a specially treated Tier 1 Monster Blood Essence]

He was indeed very envious of the mission reward.

However, this instructor is a fighter!

Moreover, he has been teaching the younger generation of the Xiao family in the Fighting Skills Hall for over twenty years.

The opponent had already mastered several of these Yellow-Rank combat techniques.

The reason he was able to defeat Xiao Ning was not only because his physique had recently improved, but also because the power of his Great Perfection Mountain-Opening Fist had increased significantly.

That's why he was able to defeat Xiao Ning even though his cultivation level was lower.

However, to think that one could defeat an instructor at the Fighter level is simply wishful thinking.

He glanced at the other younger members of the Xiao family around him.

Unfortunately, these people were less skilled than him, and he couldn't even set up a mission to defeat them.

After shaking his head, Xiao Yang prepared to return to his small courtyard.

Since I can no longer find someone to complete the sparring mission, I might as well go back to cultivating.

Just as Xiao Yang was about to go back to collect his reward, he saw rows of bookshelves on the east side of the Fighting Hall and suddenly had a brilliant idea.

He did not immediately return to the courtyard, but instead walked into the east side of the fighting hall.

Xiao Yang walked up to the huge wooden bookshelf and casually pulled out a black scroll.
