Battle Through the Heavens: The Inner Struggle of Cultivation Brings Xiao Yan to Tears

After refining for a while, Xiao Yang recovered his soul power and continued refining.

His mental talent has now reached 50.

Although the evaluation is still one in a million, the speed of soul power recovery has increased significantly.

His mental attribute increased by two points during this period.

This is mainly because Xiao Yang has increased his proficiency in the Netherworld Thorn to 1/10 of the highest level.

When the Netherworld Thorn reaches a minor level of mastery, the system rewards one point of spirit attribute.

Upon reaching the highest level, you will be rewarded with one point of spiritual attribute and a high-level herb that enhances soul power.

Netherworld Thrust is, after all, a Yellow-rank Soul Skill. Using Netherworld Thrust to kill a First-rank Magical Beast will increase its proficiency by one point.

With Xiao Yang's soul realm, he could kill him instantly.

Therefore, although he did not specifically cultivate it, he still mastered the Netherworld Thorn technique.

……

As time passed, after Xiao Yang finished refining a Grade 2 Qi-restoring Pill, a system notification sounded.

[Task: Refine five Grade 2 pills. Reward: Grade 2 Pill Proficiency +1, one Tier 3 Wind Attribute Magic Core. Completed. Claim reward?]

Chapter 87: A Grade Three Alchemy Mission!

Xiao Yang accepted the reward without hesitation.

The next moment, a large amount of insights into second-grade pills flowed into his mind.

What excited him most were some of his insights about the Foundation Building Pill and the Orchid Heart Pill.

Both of these pills can increase a Dou Shi's cultivation level by one star!

Xiao Yang is still lacking some medicinal herbs.

He had been consciously collecting information beforehand.

However, although he didn't have any medicinal herbs, he did have seeds!

Previously, his proficiency in second-grade pills was not high, and he had not yet broken through to the Dou Shi level, so he was not in a hurry to refine them.

However, we can try refining it later.

Just as Xiao Yang was digesting these insights, a familiar notification sound rang out again.

[Task: Improve your proficiency in Grade 2 pills to Mastery. Rewards: +1 to Alchemy Technique Proficiency, +1 to Intermediate Alchemy Talent, and the Complete Collection of Grade 3 Pill Recipes. Completed. Claim reward?]

Xiao Yang accepted the reward without hesitation.

Suddenly, a large number of scrolls appeared in his system space.

He knew that these scrolls contained the formulas for third-grade elixirs.

Just as he was about to take out the Grade 3 pill formula to examine it, he suddenly discovered something.

The Nine Flame Fist proficiency quest has changed!

[Mission: Use the Nine Flame Fist to kill 80 Tier 2 magical beasts. Reward: Nine Flame Fist Proficiency +1, one Tier 4 Fire Attribute Magic Core]

The original plan was to hunt down eight second-tier magical beasts!

Now, however, there are eighty of them!

Xiao Yang looked at the task and fell silent.

He can now basically take down second-tier magical beasts with a single punch.

But how could the task change so suddenly?

It can't be...

Xiao Yang suddenly remembered that the mission had changed before!

However, his attention was focused on the fighting spirit puppet, so he didn't notice it!

The mission changed right after he broke through to the Dou Shi level!

Thinking of this, he immediately looked at another task he had created earlier.

[Mission: Use the Nether Thorn to kill one hundred Tier 1 magical beasts. Reward: Nether Thorn Proficiency +1, one Tier 3 Wind Attribute Magic Core.]

Sure enough, previously all that was needed was to kill ten Tier 1 magical beasts.

It seems that as Xiao Yang's strength increases, these proficiency tasks will also change!

Once his strength has improved, it would be best for him to cultivate on his own.

Now that his comprehension has improved, it won't be difficult for him to improve his combat skills.

Of course, it definitely requires consistent practice over time.

Shortcuts like task rewards are not easy to take.

After all, the higher the level of the magical beast, the fewer there are.

Xiao Yang thought for a moment and then created a new task.

[Mission: Use the Nine Flame Fist to kill 8 Tier 3 magical beasts. Reward: Nine Flame Fist Proficiency +1, one Tier 4 Wood Attribute Magic Core]

It's going to be quite difficult for him to kill a third-tier magical beast.

However, it is not invincible.

He could use the Netherworld Thorn to severely injure it, and then use the Nine Flame Fist to kill the third-tier magical beast.

I just don't know if this counts as complete.

When he was about to search for the Myriad Beast Spirit Fire, he planned to find a third-tier magical beast to test it out.

It's now very difficult to see third-tier magical beasts on the outskirts of the Magical Beast Mountain Range where he is.

However, before that, it is necessary to refine a third-grade elixir.

Xiao Yang took out one of the three-grade pill formulas.

The first thing he took out was a Grade 3 Rejuvenation Pill.

He realized that the Rejuvenation Pill recipe rewarded by the system was actually a series of pill recipes.

The Rejuvenation Pill can be found in the formulas for first-grade, second-grade, and third-grade pills.

However, many of the medicinal materials are duplicates.

However, their medicinal effects are not quite the same; the higher the grade, the more and more precious the medicinal materials required.

Not only that, even the Qi-restoring pills are included.

Xiao Yang didn't care and directly began to use his soul power to read the pill formula.

He quickly memorized the refining method and formula for the Grade Three Rejuvenation Pill.

Without hesitation, he immediately created several tasks.

[Task: Refine a Grade 3 pill. Reward: Grade 3 pill proficiency +2, 1 drop of Hundred Flower Dew]

[Quest: Become a Rank 3 Alchemist; Reward: Intermediate Alchemy Talent +1, Primal Flame Seed]

The Fire of Origin!

What is this?

Xiao Yang suddenly became curious.

However, since the mission is not yet complete, he is unable to obtain information about the Origin Fire.

but……

Xiao Yang had a feeling that this primordial fire might be better than ordinary strange fire.

To become a third-grade alchemist, you only need to refine four different third-grade pills.

It doesn't seem...too difficult?

Just then, Xiao Yang realized that something was wrong with the mission.

The reward is actually two points of proficiency in Grade 3 pills!

That seems to make sense. With my current alchemy talent, the number of alchemy tasks, except for those of a certain rank, will be reduced by half.

Therefore, refining one pill will reward you with two points of proficiency.

After all, it's impossible to refine even half a piece.

Then I must have lost out before!

The skill level for refining pills only increases when you reach the beginner level; you receive a skill level reward for refining just one pill.

However, with the help of his alchemy talent, he doesn't need that many.

In other words, he could have refined eight or nine pills to directly increase his pill-making proficiency by ten points!

Xiao Yang tried changing the mission.

[Task: Refine five Grade 3 pills; Reward: Grade 3 Pill Proficiency +10, 5 drops of Hundred Flower Dew]

Sure enough!

What a loss!

Xiao Yang felt a pang of heartache at this moment.

However, he also knew how to create missions in the future.

He's currently at half the difficulty level.

So he changed the task back.

After all, he himself might be able to improve his proficiency in third-grade pills.

So it's still more cost-effective to go for two points at a time.

After he calmed down, he had dinner with Little Fairy Doctor.

After telling her that he needed to refine medicine that night, he let Little Fairy Doctor go to sleep first.
