"You've changed your body? Only now are you qualified to be my opponent?" Kitasaki's voice was low and hoarse, filled with undisguised joy.
Before he finished speaking, Kitasaki had already charged towards Explosive Faiz with a leap. The sharp claws held horizontally in front of his chest, accompanied by a whistling sound, aimed straight for Takumi's waist and abdomen.
This attack was powerful enough to split a bridge; if it were Faiz in his base form, he would have to roll and dodge with all his might to avoid it.
This time, however, Qiao only turned her body slightly to the side.
The claws grazed the crimson armor, piercing through the air before slamming heavily onto the ground. Sparks and debris exploded, creating a crater several meters in diameter.
Kitasaki was taken aback, seemingly not expecting the other party to react so quickly.
Inui's combat awareness did not let him miss the moment when Kitasaki was stunned. He quickly pressed "143" on the button of the Faiz Blaster with his right index finger.
As the crisp electronic sound faded, a sharp photon blade unfolded directly from the weapon's front end, while the flight propulsion components on its back simultaneously lit up red, and the slight thrust caused its body to hover slightly off the ground.
Kitasaki turned around to prepare for another attack, but Takumi lunged forward and swung his right arm at the same time.
A massive, crimson blade of light, several meters wide, erupted from the blade, sweeping across Kitasaki's torso with scorching heat. Seemingly sensing the danger, Kitasaki, who had initially intended to withstand the attack, instantly transformed into his dragon-human form and dodged at high speed.
Although the light blade did not hit Kitasaki, it swept across the ground, and the high temperature split the ground in two.
In the same instant that Kitasaki dodged the slash, he unleashed his super-fast, sharp dragon claws, aiming straight for Takumi's helmet and face.
With a clever sideways movement in mid-air, the dragon claw grazed the edge of the helmet. At the same time, Faiz Blaster input the command, and the two photon cannons on his shoulders automatically deployed, unleashing a barrage of high-powered red light bullets that accurately struck Kitazaki's chest and shoulder armor.
A series of dull thuds echoed. Kitazaki was thrown back by the force of the barrage of bullets, crashing sideways into the concrete bridge pier behind him. The sturdy pier instantly cracked with spiderweb-like fissures, large chunks of rock rained down from above, and dust engulfed him.
"impossible--!"
A roar exploded from the smoke and dust. Kitasaki emerged, covered in charred soot.
He never imagined he would be beaten so badly by a human. This meant that even that guy, Kirihiko, could suppress him.
Qiao remained suspended in mid-air. He pressed the Faiz Blaster button again and entered the code "5214".
The blade structure slowly retracted, the cannon barrel extended forward, and it switched to cannon mode. In an instant, the photon veins on his chest lit up, and the two cannons on his shoulders and the Blaster main cannon in his hand began to charge in sync, with dense photon energy condensing into a dazzling ball of light at the muzzle.
Kitasaki sensed the threat of death and immediately switched back to his demon form.
"Exceed Charge!"
The moment the electronic sound ended, I pressed the Enter key.
The two shoulder cannons and the Blaster main cannon simultaneously fired three thick beams of red photon energy, which converged in the air into a huge beam of light with a diameter of nearly two meters. With earth-shattering force, it struck Kitasaki head-on in the chest.
"—Ugh!!"
Kitazaki let out a piercing roar. The toughest armor on his chest shattered inch by inch. He was propelled backward dozens of meters by the immense force of the beam of light, raising clouds of dust and debris.
The smoke and dust slowly dissipated. Kitasaki struggled to his feet, his demon form on the verge of collapse. He looked up at the crimson figure not far away, his eyes filled with astonishment, rage, and undisguised fear.
"How could I possibly lose!?" His voice trembled as he screamed hysterically, "How could I, Kitasaki... possibly lose to a human!?"
He dared not linger for even a moment longer. Before he finished speaking, he transformed into a dragon-human form and fled.
The photon light dissipated, and the armor crumbled into tiny particles. Inui Takumi knelt on the ground, his right hand bracing against the earth as he gasped for breath, his forehead covered in cold sweat. The strain of the Burst Form far exceeded his expectations, and now he felt pain in every bone of his body.
"Kiyoshi!" Kiba rushed over, knelt down, and took his arm. "Are you alright?"
Just then, his phone rang. He picked it up and answered, "What?! Nagata has been arrested!"
On the concrete ground below the apartment building, Caojia and Haitang stood facing each other, their faces both looking increasingly sour. They had bumped into each other at the stairwell on their way upstairs, and before they could exchange more than three words, they were already arguing again. All the anger they had built up over the past few days had surfaced, and the argument was getting increasingly unpleasant.
"If you refuse to turn back into ordinary people, you monsters will bring all the trouble here sooner or later." Kusaka crossed his arms, his contempt undisguised.
Haitang, who was easily provoked, immediately exploded: "Watch your mouth! Do you really think we want to live with you?"
"If you're not willing, that's fine." Kusaka sneered, taking out the Kaixa belt. "Since you're unwilling to part with the monster's power, I'll just get rid of you, this threat, today."
He deftly fastened his belt, his flip phone clicking away, and instantly transformed. Haitang also tensed, her body radiating grayish-white energy as she transformed into a snake-shaped Orphnoch.
It looked like the two were about to start fighting.
At the critical moment, a figure rushed over and stood between the two. It was Saya Kimura, holding the Delta Transformation Device in her hand. She deftly inserted the driver and completed the transformation.
"Stop! We haven't even dealt with the enemy outside, and you're already turning on your own people?"
"Who says they're on our side?" Kusaka's tone became even more aggressive. "Get out of my way, I'm going to teach this guy a lesson today."
Neither side would back down, and the atmosphere was so tense that it was on the verge of exploding.
Just then, a sharp whooshing sound rang out, and a blue energy blast slammed into the ground between the three. The deafening explosion sent debris and dust flying everywhere, and the shockwave forced all three to retreat, breaking the tense standoff.
The three of them looked up at the same time, all warily gazing at the distance from which the energy projectile had been launched.
Two familiar figures slowly strolled over: Murakami Kyoji in a suit and Takuma in a brown coat.
The two men had icy expressions, devoid of any extra emotion, their gazes fixed on the three people facing off in the arena.
Before Soga, Saya, and Kaidou could speak, two beams of gray light suddenly surged and rose from around the two, enveloping their bodies.
Without any unnecessary build-up, Murakami and Takuma directly switched to their Orphnoch forms, revealing their hideous, mutated bodies.
The tense internal standoff that had just been resolved was completely rendered null and void by the sudden appearance of an external enemy.
The two knights, Kaixa and Delta, along with the serpentine Orphnoch, tensed up, simultaneously assuming fighting stances and locking onto the two approaching figures.
The battle erupted, and Murakami, having completed his transformation, launched the first attack, with countless sharp petals swirling and dancing around him. These petals transformed into blades, slicing through the battlefield, and combined with invisible telekinetic energy, they suppressed Saya's movements layer by layer.
Meanwhile, Takuma, transformed into the centipede Orphnoch, launched a series of attacks using his incredible close-range speed.
Kaixa of Soga, Delta of Saya, and Orphnoch of Kaidou immediately put aside their infighting and joined forces to fight the enemy.
Murakami's teleportation guerrilla tactics combined with petal cutting, along with Takuma's high-frequency close-quarters combat, create a highly oppressive two-person teamwork with a full-on offensive and defensive rhythm.
The three could only manage to parry and defend with difficulty, and within a few rounds they were suppressed, forced to retreat continuously, their defense gradually crumbling. After several exchanges, Saya's stamina was rapidly depleted, and her movements became increasingly sluggish.
Murakami seized the fleeting opening and teleported close. Before Saya could react, Murakami reached out and grabbed the Delta belt around her waist.
Just as the belt was about to be stripped off, Takumi Inui and Kiba, who had just experienced an intense battle, hurriedly returned. Even though their bodies were sore and their strength had not yet recovered, the two did not have time to rest.
Inui Takumi reached out and pulled out his Faiz phone, instantly transforming. Kiba simultaneously activated the Orphnoch power within him, his body radiating a brilliant gray light as he transformed into a horse-shaped Orphnoch.
Two figures charged straight into the battlefield. One abruptly interrupted Murakami's attempt to seize the belt, his fist aimed directly at Murakami's face. Kiba, on the other hand, blocked Takuma's attack head-on, managing to stabilize the collapsing battle and reversing the previously one-sided advantage.
In the arena, Soga, Saya, and Inui formed a triangle, surrounding Rose Orphnoch in the center. Murakami looked back and forth between the three: "It seems Kitasaki failed, but that's fine, saves me the trouble of searching for them one by one."
Before the three could respond, Murakami stomped his foot, creating a spiderweb-like crack in the asphalt. He vanished from the spot.
"Watch out!" Inui had barely uttered half a sentence when Murakami appeared beside Kusaka.
Kusaka instinctively raised his Kaixa blade to parry.
Murakami didn't dodge or evade. His exoskeleton-covered hand went straight for the light blade, his five fingers closing in. With a clang, the metal exploded, forcefully deflecting the blade from its trajectory.
Kusaka felt a tremendous force coming from the sword. Before he could change his move, Murakami's right leg swept out like a battle axe, slamming heavily into Kaixa's side.
"boom!"
Kusaka was sent flying, crashing into the door of a car parked on the side of the road, and sparks flew from his armor.
Almost simultaneously, Saya raised her gun and fired a barrage of silver-white energy bullets, blocking Murakami's retreat. But Murakami didn't even turn his head; he ducked, the energy bullets grazing his shoulder, and the next second he was right in front of Saya.
Delta armor excels in mid-to-long-range firepower, but close-quarters combat is its weakness. Saya hastily raised her arm to block, but Murakami struck her forearm joint with an elbow strike, numbing her entire arm and causing her gun to deflect. Murakami then seized her shoulder armor and delivered a vicious knee strike to the center of Delta's breastplate.
"Boom--!"
Saya groaned and took several steps back before kneeling on one knee.
Seeing this, Inui drew his Photon Sword, its crimson blade whistling as it slashed straight at Murakami's back. Murakami finally turned around, crossing his arms to parry.
"Clang! Clang! Clang!"
Three consecutive heavy slashes sent sparks flying across Murakami's arm. Murakami shook his arms to deflect the blade, and his right fist slammed straight into Faiz's breastplate.
"puff--"
As if struck by lightning, Qian Qiao staggered back seven or eight steps, his boots carving two deep furrows in the ground before he barely managed to regain his footing. His heavy breathing came from under his helmet; the force of that punch had penetrated through his armor and gone straight to his internal organs.
The three stood still, exchanged glances, and saw seriousness in each other's eyes.
Chapter 230 Murakami's Dedication
“This guy…” Soga stood up, leaning on his bladed spear, and growled through gritted teeth, “Close combat is even more troublesome than the ranged attacks we just had.”
"We can't fight him hand-to-hand." Saya clutched her chest, her voice coming through the armor.
Qian Qiao flicked his hand and tilted his head: "Use your ultimate moves together, don't give him a chance to breathe."
The three of them acted simultaneously.
"Exceed Charge!"
The three electronic sound effects exploded almost simultaneously.
Crimson, golden, and silver-white photon blood surged simultaneously. Faiz inserted the cursor into the leg slot and fired a crimson electric drill. Kaixa also fired a golden light cone from her right leg. The dark blue heavy electric drill at the muzzle of the Delta Blaster gun rapidly spun and expanded.
Murakami Kyoji stood in the middle of the field, stuck to the three electric drills and unable to move. But instead of teleporting away as if he were a flower petal, he spread his arms and tried to take the hit head-on.
"Come!" he roared, tilting his head back. "Let me see just how powerful three belts really are!"
"Crimson Smash!"
"Gold Smash!"
"Lucifer's Hammer!"
The three-color electric drill hit simultaneously.
Three beams of light—crimson, golden, and dark blue—converged at Murakami's chest, unleashing a torrent of violent photon energy. Murakami's feet sank deep into the ground, and the asphalt road crumbled inch by inch.
"Ughhhhhh—!"
He let out a deafening roar, but his body remained rooted to the spot, not retreating an inch.
"boom--!!!"
A deafening explosion erupted in front of the apartment building, the shockwave sending debris and rubble flying within a ten-meter radius, flames soaring into the sky, and thick smoke billowing into the air.
Kiba, Kaidou, and Takuma, who was confronting the two, were forced back several steps by the blast wave, raising their hands to shield themselves from the hot wind.
The smoke and dust slowly settled.
In the center of the ground, a charred crater several meters in diameter lay shockingly large. At the bottom of the crater, Murakami Kyoji, having deactivated his Orphnoch state, knelt on the ground.
He... is still alive.
