However, in the latest plot, the Holy Light has also affected some local plants, making them seem to come alive and attack people around them.

A group of blood elf spellbreakers clad in red and gold armor, along with a grand mage in magnificent robes, were already waiting there. This group was the one Kael'thas had sent to welcome Rhodes.

"The eternal sun guides us. Welcome to Quel'Thalas, Lord Rhodes. Lady Jaina Proudmoore, His Highness Prince Kael'thas is at the Sunwell Plateau."

"Everything is ready for the restart ceremony. Please follow me. Silvermoon City has prepared accommodations for our distinguished guests." The leading archmage bowed slightly to Rhodes.

Rhodes returned a polite smile, "Thank you for your trouble. We are honored to witness this moment."

The group followed the blood elf guides and embarked on the road to Silvermoon City, where Rhodes witnessed the legendary Scar of Death.

This was Arthas's most powerful moment, using the damage from the Double Plague. In the game, after the Blood Elf race is born, zombies will occasionally spawn here.

In reality, however, some death energy here only infects some of the surrounding wild beasts, turning them into zombies. But it's not the case that a few infected blood elves would run out. After all, it's his own backyard, and Kael'thas has no reason to keep these monsters around. Are they supposed to let the players level up for him?

“Lord Rhodes, Quel'Thalas is no longer what it once was. Arthas has inflicted unimaginable devastation on us,” the blood elf spellbreaker leading Rhodes said with a sigh.

"Everything will be alright. The Sunwell will be rebuilt soon, and then the power of the Son of the Sun will be able to repair the death energy here, and this forest will regain its former vitality," Rhodes said with a smile.

"Let's hope so, Lord Rhodes." The blood elves around him managed a forced smile; they were now counting on His Highness the Prince to repair the Sunwell.

Many ordinary civilians are now showing signs of magic addiction, and only repairing the Sunwell can solve this problem.

A group of Blood Elf Spellbreakers led Rhodes and his companions through the desolate Eversong Forest and the magnificent gates of Silvermoon City, into this magical city belonging to the elves. (It is said that in version 12.0, Eversong Forest and Silvermoon City were rebuilt and are much larger than before.)

The situation inside the city is slightly better. Although the scars left by the war can still be seen inside Silvermoon City, the elves' superb architectural skills and magic have already repaired most of the main areas.

The towering spires still looked magnificent under the faint magical light, but they lacked the brilliance that once seemed to originate from the sun itself.

The elven residents on the street mostly wore expressions of weariness and an undisguised thirst, signs of their addiction lacking a source of nourishment. Their gazes toward Rhodes and his group were filled with curiosity, as well as a hint of anticipation for the future.

Rhodes's name has already reached the Blood Elves, and Kael'thas is putting on a very grand show for the restoration of the Sunwell. All the common Blood Elves are hoping for a successful restoration this time.

They didn't linger and were led directly to the Tower of Sunfury. In the royal court, Prince Kael'thas Sunstrider still maintained his elven elegance, but the weariness and anxiety hidden between his brows, as well as the eagerness in his eyes that he couldn't completely conceal due to his addiction to magic, were all seen by Rhodes.

Soon, the group was led to the region where the Sunstriders' royal court was located and met Kael'thas.

“Rhodes! Lady Jaina! Welcome to Silvermoon City. Quel'Thalas is honored by your presence at this historic moment.” Kael'thas stepped forward and warmly embraced Rhodes.

“You’re welcome, Kael’thas. I’m really looking forward to you rebuilding the Sunwell,” Rhodes said with a smile.

There was no other way; his own Holy Phoenix could only be created using water from Kael'thas's Sunwell, so naturally he hoped Kael'thas would act quickly.

Kael'thas nodded upon hearing this, then looked at Fina beside Rhodes. From her appearance, it was clear that she was a half-elf, just like the one from the Windrunner family, a being with both human and elven blood.

"Who is this lady...?"

Jaina stepped forward, took Fina's arm, and introduced her with a smile: "Prince Kael'thas, please allow me to introduce you. This is Fina Goldsword, my sister, a powerful paladin and a member of the Knights of the Silver Hand." She deliberately omitted the specific details of Fina's background, after all, it was a family matter, the matter of being an illegitimate child, and it was best not to let too many people know the details at the moment.

Kael'thas, having lived for a thousand years, naturally saw through Jaina's intentions at a glance, smiled and nodded, without asking any further questions.

In this regard, the Blood Elf prince displayed impeccable hospitality, bowing to Fenna with an elven noble's salute: "Welcome, Lady Fenna Goldensword, paladin of elven blood. It is a rare and honorable combination. Thank you for coming with Rhodes and Jaina to witness this important moment in Quel'Thalas."

Fenna was somewhat flattered and quickly returned the knightly salute: "It is an honor to be received by you, Prince Kael'thas. Your visit to Silvermoon City is of great significance to me."

“Madam, you also have elven blood, so there’s no need for you to be so polite to me. There are many priests in the city; perhaps you could talk to them and tell them about paladins.”

In fact, Kael'thas had always had an idea in his mind: through this war in Outland, he clearly understood how powerful these anti-armored warriors who used the Holy Light were.

If Quel'Thalas could have its own paladin army, that would be perfect. Many priests in Quel'Thalas are now unable to summon the power of the Holy Light. Rhodes did suggest using Holy Light elements before, but that would only be a drop in the ocean.

Once the Sunwell is repaired, Kael'thas even considers accepting the prophet Velen's suggestion to infuse the magic well with holy light. With the protection of holy light, it will have a natural advantage, at least in dealing with demons and shadow undead. He plans to discuss this with Rhodes later, to infuse the newly reborn Sunwell with holy light and to train the paladin army of Quel'Thalas.

“You must all be tired from your journey. The ceremony is important, but there’s no need to rush.” Kael’thas turned to the side and gestured for them to leave.

"I have already ordered a small feast and rooms for rest to be prepared in the Tower of Sunlight. Please allow me to extend my hospitality first. You can rest for a while and enjoy some Quel'Thalas's special drinks and snacks before we discuss business." Although repairing the Sunwell was urgent, the blood elves also had their own way of treating guests.

“When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Kyle, I’ve been wanting to try the morning dew wine you’ve been mentioning all along,” Rhodes said with a smile.

"Haha, plenty of food! Please come in!" Kael'thas laughed heartily and led everyone into the banquet hall.

Chapter 267 Granting the Sunwell the Power of Holy Light

The banquet hall inside the tower was already set up, unlike the noisy banquets of humans, but filled with elven elegance and tranquility.

The enormous crystal window filtered the soft light of Eversong Forest into the room, filling the air with the faint scent of sandalwood and magical flowers. On the long table were exquisite silver cutlery and crystal vessels, filled with elven pastries and fruits that looked like works of art, as well as a blue berry that shimmered like starlight.

Kael'thas personally poured a liquid with a golden sheen for Rhodes, Jaina, and Fenna—the famous Quel'Thalas Morning Dew.

"Come and have a taste, all of you. This is a specialty of Quel'Thalas."

Rhodes, Jaina, and Fina raised their glasses and nodded slightly to Kael'thas.

"First of all, let me once again thank you for coming, on my own behalf, Rhodes, my friend. Whether in Lordaeron, Mount Hyjal, or Outland, you have proven your friendship and worth. This toast is to friendship, to the Alliance, and to the new life that is about to begin!"

Everyone raised their glasses and drank together. The morning dew wine had a refreshing and mellow taste, with the fragrance of flowers and fruits. A gentle magical warmth spread through their bodies, invigorating them.

This special drink also has a certain effect on restoring magic, although it's not as good as mana potions, it's still quite powerful.

In a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, they first chatted about their recent situations. Kael'thas inquired about the progress of the reconstruction of Lordaeron and the situation in Theramore, while Jaina asked about the interesting things that happened during the reconstruction of Quel'Thalas.

After a few rounds of drinks and a more relaxed atmosphere, Kael'thas finally steered the conversation to the main topic.

"Ladies, do you enjoy playing the accordion? If so, I've prepared a special opera for you," Kael'thas said, looking at Jaina and Fenna.

Kael'thas's intention to speak with Rhodes privately was crystal clear.

“Oh! If there’s a special musical performance, then I’d like to enjoy it. Come on, sister, let’s go to the musical.” Jaina immediately understood, took her sister’s hand, and the two women, led by a servant, headed to the musical venue that Kael’thas had specially arranged.

Sometimes, when men are discussing certain issues, it's best for women not to be present.

Kael'thas smiled politely, clapped his hands, and all the blood elves, maids, and waiters in the room left, leaving only Kael'thas and Rhodes in the large reception room.

"Kyle, is there something you want to tell me?" Rhodes asked, downing his drink in one gulp.

"Rhodes, the well water you brought is our only hope. Preparations are almost complete. The mages have been reinforcing the seal and energy-conducting array of the Sunwell Plateau day and night, just waiting for us to pour in that source of life."

“I will help you then. Is there anything else you want to tell me?” Rod asked.

According to his estimation, this time there shouldn't be any need to sacrifice Anveena or Kael'thas, the blood elves, as they are unaware of this girl's existence.

“Then I’ll be frank, Rhodes. I’ve been thinking about whether there’s a way to make the newborn Sunwell more… ‘safe’, or rather, more ‘protective’.”

The Scourge, the Burning Legion's demons, and the shadow forces stirring in Azeroth are all extremely powerful evils, and I need to be wary of them.

During this time, I have witnessed the power of the Holy Light while I was by your side, your mastery of the Holy Light, and the lady paladin you brought with you... who showed me another possibility.

"Perhaps when we rebuild the Sunwell, we should infuse its waters with the power of the Holy Light. I want a paladin army to emerge in Quel'Thalas in the future, and I may need the support of the Knights of the Silver Hand for this. Can you help me?" Kael'thas stated his purpose.

Rhodes was startled by what he heard, put down his wine glass, and looked at Kael'thas with a look of surprise. Could it be that history really has some kind of restorative power in this respect?

In the normal timeline, the Sunwell was indeed reborn as a fountain of holy light and magical energy, and in version 12.0, the holy light clearly had the upper hand.

However, in this timeline, because of Rhodes' appearance, the Blood Elf race did not break away from the Alliance and join the Horde, and Kael'thas did not go to Outland to live with Illidan.

Moreover, he obtained the true water of the Well of Eternity, which could perfectly repair the Sunwell. Normally, the Sunwell should be rebuilt, but now Kael'thas actually wants to add the power of Holy Light to this magical spring.

Rhodes realized something upon thinking about this. The power of the Holy Light was indeed very strong, especially the Holy Light units he had displayed, such as the powerful Holy Light Archangel.

These two are absolutely top-tier fighters in Azeroth, only a step away from being demigods. They could even rival a demigod if they joined forces. Last time, they managed to kill Archimonde in the Battle of Mount Hyjal instead of letting him be blown up by the World Tree's explosion.

The Archangel of Light and the Holy Light artifacts played an indispensable role. Later, Kael'thas and Rhodes created the incredibly powerful Phoenix, which further shocked Kael'thas.

There are also powerful Holy Light elements. After discovering that Holy Light elements could grow a pair of wings, Rhode evolved all the fire elements under his command into Holy Light elements instead of turning them into Blazing Fire elements.

Kael'thas witnessed everything Rhodes did, which fueled his even greater desire for the power of the Holy Light, even bordering on worship.

Not long ago, Rhodes handed the Fire Elemental Summoning Scroll to Kael'thas for research. The research is progressing very well, and Kael'thas will soon be able to summon a permanent version of the Fire Elemental.

If there were a fountain of holy light, these fire elementals could be transformed into flying, perfectly winged holy light elementals. These holy light elementals would be as powerful as level 5 units, and being flying units, they could use various paladin and priest skills, making them practically perfect.

“It’s theoretically challenging, but not impossible,” Rhodes said slowly. He knew in his heart that this was exactly the trajectory that should have happened; the power of the Holy Light was too important for the blood elves.

Kael'thas wouldn't hold much resentment if he didn't help, as Rhodes had done him a great favor.

But Kael will definitely try other ways to resolve this, such as asking the Draenei for help, which would actually attract the Naaru, and that would be very bad.

After careful consideration, Rhodes decided to help Kael'thas. At least his Holy Light power was not like the other Holy Light in Azeroth. This was because the Holy Light power of himself, the Archangel of Light, and the Phoenix of Fire all came from the conversion of the Heroes of Might and Magic system. If an ordinary person used the Holy Light so extensively as Rhodes, they would have been infected by it long ago.

"You've become a Lightforged being," Rhodes said, nodding to Kael'thas.

"Holy Light and Arcane are not absolutely opposed. Under certain conditions, they can coexist and even reinforce each other. The key lies in a powerful 'medium' and precise control."

“Great, Rhodes, I knew you would help me. I envision myself guiding and shaping the arcane energy to ensure the magical nature of the Sunwell remains unchanged.”

At the same time, a being with a deep understanding of the Holy Light and possessing immense Holy Light power is needed to inject the purest Holy Light power into the core of the well water at crucial moments, achieving balance with the arcane energy.

"I believe you are the perfect 'medium,' or rather, the key Lightbearer. Rhodes, your Archangel of Light, the Phoenix of Holy Fire, and the elements of Holy Light are the best mediums." Kael'thas excitedly revealed his plan.

“This is a very bold plan, Kael. I agree to assist you. Tomorrow we will travel together to Quel'Danas Island and rebuild the Sunwell. I will summon my Archangel of Light, the Phoenix of Light, and about 200 Light Elementals. These Light Elementals are permanent units,” Rhodes nodded and said.

Rather than letting this magical spring be completely corrupted by the power of holy light, it would be better to keep it under the control of one's own holy light. In that case, the blood elves would be able to produce a more normal paladin—no, not a blood knight.

"Thank you so much, Rhodes, we will definitely succeed." Kael'thas nodded excitedly.

He hadn't expected Rhodes to deploy 200 Holy Light Elementals. The Holy Light power generated by 200 Holy Light Elementals was incredibly strong. These Holy Light Elementals were permanent elemental entities, not the kind that would dissipate after being summoned twice.

I must carefully observe these permanent elemental entities when the time comes, as this will greatly help me research the fire elemental summoning magic scroll.

“You’re welcome, Kyle. You helped me when I was rising from humble beginnings, and now I will help you.” Rhodes said with a smile.

“I will always stand by your side, Rhodes. I don’t trust the League, I trust you,” Kael’thas nodded and said.

After chatting for a while, Rhodes took his leave and they met up. Jaina and Fona watched a concert for a while, and then stayed in the room arranged by Kael'thas.

That evening, Jaina and her sister Fina inquired about the secret conversation between Rhodes and Kael'thas and learned that the Sunwell was going to join the Holy Light.

The two sisters reacted very differently; Jaina was somewhat worried, while Fina was excited.

"Praise be to the Holy Light, this is wonderful."

“Rhodes, is it really feasible to integrate the Holy Light into the Sunwell? Won’t it cause an energy conflict?” Jaina asked, frowning.

Chapter 268 Rebuilding the Sunwell

Holy Light and Arcane are two completely different energies. Although they are not as opposed as Fel energy, Shadow, or Death energy, it is not so simple to fuse them.

"Theoretically, it is feasible. This is also the best way to prevent the Sunwell from being targeted by evil forces again, and it is also in our own interest."

"A Sunwell imbued with holy light also holds significant reference value for our future plans regarding the source of human magic," Rhodes said.

“Great Son of the Holy Light, you are right. You have successfully fused the power of the Holy Light and the power of arcane magic. You can cast spells as well as cast spells of the Holy Light,” Fina said with an admiring expression.

Since the great Son of Light can fuse Holy Light with Arcane, then the Sunwell of the High Elves, or rather the Blood Elves now, can do the same. This is the miracle of the Holy Light.
