"I don't know if you know this, but those who are pulled into the exam by the black ball have their lives tied to the black ball and only have one extra chance."

"Those selected to participate in the test can exchange the opportunity to resist by participating in the Black Ball Trial, while designating one person from their class to participate in the test."

Koji Machida curled his lip, clearly not satisfied with the information:

"Stop using information that can be found out with a simple test. Right now, only your B and D classes have those black combat suits. Who knows if you're conspiring against our A and C classes?"

Ayanokouji seemed to be deep in thought upon hearing this.

'It seems... Class A has also tried it. So who in Class A has the extra privileges? Sakayanagi Arisu...?'

Ryuji Kanzaki was about to say a few more words in his defense.

Kaneda Satoru suddenly pushed up his glasses and took over the conversation with a sinister look:

"Even if they target us, there's nothing we can do about it, isn't there?"

"After all, if you become a loser, in order to survive better in the Black Ball Trial at night, you will ultimately have to rely on those 'suitable ones' who have advanced equipment."

Koji Machida fell silent.

Indeed, given the absolute disparity in strength, it would be unwise to offend veteran players prematurely.

Seeing that the time was almost right, Jin Tianwu revealed his true intentions:

"I can withdraw from the competition."

"But I want 120,000 points from you, consider it interest that Ichinose from your class owes us."

Without hesitation, Ryuji Kanzaki immediately turned to look at Ayanokoji and Machida.

Koji Machida sighed, seemingly resigned: "Fine, give me 40,000 as a token."

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka didn't make any unnecessary moves and went along with it: "Give me 40,000 as well."

"make a deal."

Kanzaki Ryuji smiled and nodded in agreement.

"So during the main competition tonight, if you encounter any danger, Class B will provide cover first."

The game of wolves and sheep, which should have been stained with blood, was thus dissolved by him.

They presented an image of harmony and peace, seemingly perfectly embodying Ichinose's peace policy.

......

But all of this seemed rather uninteresting to Su Wei, who was watching from a god-like perspective.

How come he remembers that the wolf and sheep game allows you to exploit bugs? Isn't this just copying the rules? I want to see a battle of wits!

It seems, perhaps...

Is it because he didn't completely copy the original drama and omitted some elements?

That's alright then.

In order to prevent the play from ending badly, he decided to give Ayanokouji, who had been slacking off, a little exercise.

Of course, Su Wei wouldn't directly change the rules of the game, much less deprive them of their right to trade. He wasn't that despicable.

He simply intended to add one last sentence before the game ended.

then.

The 30-minute countdown is about to reach zero.

Everyone tacitly avoided eye contact, leaving the wolf card on Kanzaki Ryuji.

Blue fluorescence began to rise beneath the feet of Ayanokouji and the other two, except for Ryuji Kanzaki.

A screen of ice-blue light appeared, accompanied by a cold notification sound.

[Test complete.]

[Congratulations to Ryuji Kanzaki for surviving as the 'wolf'.]

As the winner, you can choose one of the following rewards:

[1. Individual S-points, reward 5 points.]

[2. Granted the privilege of twice exempting the entire class from being forcibly conscripted as 'interlopers'.]

[3. Unlock some information about the hidden monsters in this night's main event, as well as a 'privilege slot' for the winner to enter the main event and earn points.]

So, will you choose to eke out a living, or—

Want to understand the meaning of life? Want to truly...live?

"!!!"

I heard the last sentence.

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, who had been calmly accepting the teleportation with his eyes lowered, suddenly looked up.

Beneath the calm surface of his slender eyes, a slight ripple stirred, like something called surprise.

'Were I tricked...?'
