"Click—"

The text froze, and suddenly a hydraulic transmission sound came from both sides of the black ball.

Like an armory opening in a science fiction movie, the sphere slowly slid open to the sides, revealing the eerie blue light inside and the weapons quietly displayed within.

It wasn't the complex full set of equipment from the original work; it only contained five X-GUN standard guns and Y-GUN capture guns that gleamed with a cold light, as well as five black knife hilts.

No battle suit.

It was clearly carefully altered by the Soviets.

The armory is now open.

Please each choose one weapon.

......

Su Wei chuckled inwardly as he watched the frozen expressions on everyone's faces.

Beginner tutorials should definitely be more hardcore.

Moreover, how can something as good as a battle suit that can boost physical fitness tenfold be given away for free?

We need to make them exchange points for it, so they'll fight tooth and nail for those points.

Only when they face the monsters with their bare hands can the will to survive that they struggle on the edge of life and death be the most delicious and pleasurable.

"Parasyte...?"

Honami Ichinose trembled, her face as pale as paper.

"Eat...eat brains? Does such a thing really exist?"

"Hmph, playing tricks."

Long Yuanxiang cursed, but his actions betrayed his words.

He rushed toward the opened black sphere and instinctively reached out to grab the handle of a knife.

Compared to toy guns whose principles he didn't understand, he, being a delinquent, trusted the cold weapons he could hold in his hands more.

"Whether it's true or not, you'll know once you make a cut."

Long Yuanxiang tried to swing it, the black blade extended, and the edge cut through the air with a shrill whistling sound.

"If it's a prank, I'll use this knife to chop off the hands and feet of the mastermind. If it's real..."

He licked his lips.

"That would be even more interesting."

"Oh dear, how barbaric."

Sakayanagi Arisu shook her head, her gaze fixed on the two black guns.

For her, who has difficulty walking, ranged weapons seem to be the only option.

She turned to look at Su Wei, her eyes filled with inquiry:

"Hey kid, aren't you going to choose one together? According to this black ball, there are only three types of weapons. What's your idea?"

Su Wei did not answer Sakayanagi immediately, but looked at the countdown on the black ball, his tone becoming urgent:

"Well, I think we can save the small talk for later. Look up there, the countdown only has thirty seconds left."

【00: 38】

The rapidly changing, blood-red numbers, like a death knell, are unsettling to behold.

"Tch." Long Yuanxiang spat unhappily, "Even with just one knife, I can still beat the game."

Su Wei sighed and quickly stepped forward.

"then."

He tossed the X-GUN to Sakayanagi, who caught it with one hand, the movement so practiced it seemed like he had rehearsed it beforehand.

Then, he forced two oddly shaped Y-GUNs onto Ichinose and Kushida, who were still in a daze.

"Take it, it's better than empty-handed."

As for himself, he naturally chose the most classic X-GUN, since it didn't matter what he chose anyway.

"I don't know swordsmanship, so choosing a knife would only make me look bad... This one will do."

Long Yuanxiang neither confirmed nor denied the statement.

Sakayanagi Arisu praised: "A reasonable judgment."
