Warhammer 40k: Melee Warriors

The left side of 0 is a descending arc, where all conceivable and unconceivable things degenerate to the lowest point according to an inviolable law; the right side is an ascending arc, which is the process of evolution and unfolding of all things, reaching the ultimate point of the unity of consciousness and divinity.
The number 1 is the beginning of everything, vertically and centrally connecting the highest and lowest points, constructing the original first source.
2 represents wisdom, the subconscious response of all things to the laws of the universe.
3 represents understanding, the memory and iteration of all things in their response to rules.
4 is an unquestionable order; sheep are born to eat grass, and wolves are born to eat meat. No one can question this process.
After passing through 2, 3, and 4, we finally arrived at 5.
This is a number that is in the middle of the sequence 1-9, from development to end. Different people have different views on the number 5. Some people believe that 5 symbolizes power, severity and fear, and is the beginning of the development of basic order from chaos. Others believe that 5 is adaptation, progress and liberation from constraints, and is the only manifestation of seeking perfect justice.
But no matter how much they argued about the meaning of the number 5 written down by the emperor, they all acknowledged one thing.
That is, the number 5 symbolizes humanity, suggesting the five pure limbs of humankind, and also contains the emperor's warning to humanity not to foolishly roll back to 1, nor to arrogantly rise to 9.
No wonder...no wonder it was the number 5! So that's how it is! So that's what you were thinking! I understand now! I get it all!
Faya's gaze seemed to spit fire, making Koji's scalp tingle. He had no idea how much Faya was fantasizing about in this riddle-like reminder, just as the Emperor didn't understand how Loka managed to write an entire book of imperial pronouncements amidst the busy days of the Great Expedition.
"In the name of humanity and the savior of humanity." At this moment, Faya could hardly control her excitement. Her body involuntarily moved closer to the skeleton of Komi and knelt down. Her hand, filled with unparalleled reverence, gently rested on Komi's hand to show absolute submission.
Faya rose, ready to use his psychic powers to sweep away all enemies, to repay Komi's high regard with a victory and bloodshed, even if it meant being crushed to ashes by the backlash of the psychic fire.
Komi, seeing Faya's body enveloped in psychic energy and his unusually clean neck, seemed to remember something and reminded Faya that he could remove his hand bones and attach them to his neck.
"Oh! My Lord!" Faya was flattered and, with Komi's tacit approval, removed the left hand bone, used her psionic energy to lock the loose structure, and then strangled it to her own neck.
The tightness that the five fingers gave Faya brought an undisguised look of happiness to her face. Komi solemnly told herself that she did not have a penchant for choking people, but was only trying to prevent Faya from overusing her psychic energy and suffering a backlash.
Falla left the skeleton's side, believing she had gained the Emperor's favor, and unabashedly drew upon the psychic energy of the warp to cast spells.
"The savior of mankind awaits a victory! Destroy these traitors!" Falla's voice was amplified by psychic energy, spreading throughout the entire battlefield. The soldiers of the Inquisition cursed inwardly as they watched the surging psychic energy around Falla. They had learned from their training and combat experience that a psychic would become multifaceted and terrifying once he abandoned all reverence for the warp.
"Kill that wizard! At any cost!" The Storm Lord led his Stormtroopers in an assault, drawing his rarely used plasma pistol and firing at Faya.
The scorching plasma cluster was deflected to the other side of the battlefield by Falla's palm. With a twist of her hands, the grenades and molten bombs carried by the Storm Leader and the Stormtroopers beside her were all blown to pieces.
This surprise attack, which was advantageous to the Inquisition forces, was now on the verge of failure, as none of them could stop Falla from using magic to clear the entire battlefield.
"Retreat! We need to regroup!" Commanders gave orders under the barrage of Falla's spells, but the soldiers entangled with the believers at the front were unable to respond. They could only grit their teeth and fire at the surging enemy.
Faya had not forgotten Komi's teachings. Each spell killed five enemies, and these souls did indeed flow into Komi's pure white throne room, turning into small square bricks that appeared before him.
Although he didn't know how to use these bricks made of souls, Komi was still incredibly excited. If he could guide the souls of those who died in battle to this place through a ritual, the speed of growth would be incomparable to personally taking up arms in battle.
"Well done, Falla! Keep it up!"
Chapter 199: The Soul Returns...The Platinum Throne?
Komi walked around the bricks forged from souls, carefully admiring the appearance of these creations.
Life is the currency of emperors; use it wisely.
This is a widely circulated saying in the human empire; anyone who has read books and attended church services can recite it at some point in their life.
Looking at the endless stream of soul bricks being delivered by Faya, Komi felt that his understanding of this statement had deepened.
Koji picked up a soul brick, expecting it to have a weight similar to its size, but found it to be as light as a feather. If a soul and a feather were placed on opposite sides of a scale, Koji had no doubt that the feather could crush a low wall made of hundreds of soul bricks.
Is the human soul inherently so weak in this world, or is a part of the human soul taken away by the laws of the world before entering this pure white hall?
Koken was unaware of this. He carefully picked up a soul brick and saw a calm face on its translucent, shimmering surface.
That's right.
calm.
There was no pain, no fervor, no generosity, no pleasure.
There was only tranquility, a profound tranquility of being trapped in a deathly slumber, never to awaken again, and never having to consider the future.
In the Warhammer universe, where people fight bloody battles in life and fall into the hands of evil gods after death, being able to die peacefully is an unimaginable blessing.
Even the Primarchs and Emperors, as powerful as they are, struggle between life and death, overwhelmed by the weight of their responsibilities and the burdens on their souls.
Komi stared at the calm face on the soul brick for a long time, unsure of what to say.
Then he felt one of his palms getting hotter and hotter; it was the hand that was gripping Faya's neck. He quickly pulled his attention away from the calm face and focused it on Faya.
Falla's psychic talent was indeed outstanding. The stability and persistence with which he drew warp energy would make any psychic suffering from the whispers of the warp envious.
However, while Falla's spirit could withstand the onslaught of psychic energy, her mortal body could not endure such overload for long, and driven by instinct, her flesh and blood put up various forms of resistance.
As the psionic power that had ravaged the entire battlefield subsided, she hunched over like a shrimp from the pain in her body. Sweat dripped from her forehead onto the scorching ground heated by the lasers, evaporating almost instantly upon contact with it.
"Why are you so weak..." Falla blamed herself for her physical weakness, trying to forcefully break through life's fear of trauma and death with her spirit.
The moment the psionic power ceased its rampage also meant that the Inquisition forces had a chance to catch their breath. The most elite stormtroopers had already disregarded their own lives; they never considered their actions of obeying the Inquisitors' orders to bring destruction to the Red Mines world to be wrong.
They are all fighting for the throne, fighting for a prosperous future for humanity! It's just that their understanding and methods of achieving that prosperity differ.
On the arduous road to human progress, some will inevitably be crushed by the relentless wheels of progress, leaving behind a bloody mess on either side of the road.
Only the last living person is qualified to prove his loyalty to the throne and to humanity.
"Die, wizard!" The stormtroopers rose from the ashes of their comrades, fitted their weapons with monomolecular bayonets, and charged forward, firing at Faya.
The fanatics chanted the Emperor's words, attempting to help the Fayas defeat the Inquisition's elite warriors, but their fervor only resulted in more bloodshed on the battlefield.
Faya stretched out her hands, barely managing to create a shield. The pain in her body was excruciating; just doing this took a lot of her strength.
The scorching laser and the shockwave that shattered internal organs slammed into Faya's shield, and the resulting psionic backlash was further transmitted to Faya's body.
Without external assistance, Faya would likely be severely injured in the stormtroopers' desperate assault.
Having finally managed to contact an old friend, how could he just watch her head towards a humiliating defeat? So, out of common sense, he grabbed five soul bricks and threw them into the blood-coagulated mirror.
These soul bricks, under Komi's watchful gaze, smashed into Faya and shattered, transforming into a hazy mist of souls that enveloped her entire body.
"What... what is this feeling?" Faya was shocked. At this moment, she could only feel the pain in her body dissipating and her body returning to her control.
This must be the great power of humanity's savior!
Faya, grateful for and in awe of the protection bestowed upon her by the ancients, fixed her gaze on the stormtroopers charging toward her with a cold stare, and then used her psionic energy to snap off their heads.
Falla, in the name of Komi, is wreaking havoc, drawing ever closer to victory.
The thin mist of soul that enveloped her also collapsed during the battle. The calm face that had left a deep impression on Koji could not return to the pure white hall. It could only silently scream and merge into the chaotic and disordered subspace tide, disappearing without a trace.
Rather than being chosen by the gods to become a demon prince, or displaying human loyalty and courage in battle and returning to the throne, the souls of the vast majority of beings will ultimately return to the warp.
Just as real death is never beautiful, no matter how people construct the beauty of the afterlife and decorate their tombs with countless luxurious treasures, their bodies will eventually turn into pools of foul-smelling corpse water under the action of decomposers.
At this moment, Gu Jian felt that his pure white room was more like a resting place for his soul, existing separately from the chaotic subspace, and was the only washbasin in this huge cesspool.
The battle to protect the Sanctuary ended in victory amidst the explosions of the excavators. There were no prisoners on the battlefield; the Astral Legion and Stormtroopers, loyal to the Inquisition's orders, were all wiped out, and some of their souls condensed into Soul Bricks, which were placed peacefully in front of Komi.
The believers who guarded the sanctuary suffered even heavier casualties, but they did not despair, for Faya had used magic to tell everyone that their perseverance had been rewarded, that the Savior of Mankind had turned his gaze here, and that they must, in his name, eliminate those bewitched traitors!
Faya knelt before the skeleton once again, this time bringing with her Miyan, who commanded the soldiers, and Ishi, who contacted reinforcements. Upon learning that the skeleton had been brought back to life, the two soldiers displayed the same fervor as Faya.
"My lord... what should we do next?"
Komi thought for a moment and told Faya not to be blinded by temporary victory, but to continue to hold the deep underground and offer more victories and blood in his name.
"Yes, my lord, I will."
Only Faya, with her psychic abilities, could hear Komi's voice. She carefully remembered Komi's reminder and replied, "Yes, my lord, I will have more blood offered for you. As long as you are willing, I and all my followers will offer you all our blood."
“There’s no need for that.” Koji carefully considered his words. He felt disgusted by Faya’s extreme worship that was like killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. He felt that he preferred a slow and steady approach. “Blood is just a way to prove your loyalty and purity, not the only purpose. Donate your blood to me while keeping your health and lives intact.”
Falla offered no objection, but simply bowed and praised Komi's benevolence.
Chapter 200: Vashtor, Give Me the Drop Point Equipment
Since things were going well on Faya's side, Komi turned his attention to the other mirror.
Elaine was still trying to keep the wisp of Marcus's soul from dissipating. Komi placed the soul bricks five at a time in front of the mirror, and then watched as the mirror absorbed the soul bricks one by one, eventually turning them into a narrow path leading to Marcus's body.
There were still many Soul Bricks left. Considering the difference in time flow between reality and the subspace, and the urgency of the battle in the direction of Faya, Komi piled the remaining Soul Bricks in front of the mirror so that he could provide timely assistance if Faya encountered any danger.
After stepping across the narrow path paved with soul bricks, Komi's soul departed from this pure white hall. These soul bricks, after bearing Komi's footsteps, became even more ethereal and elusive, rising and falling before sinking into the subspace tide.
Although the body was weakened after being consumed by the Blood God, Komi still dispelled much of his unease because of the real feeling of his soul returning to his body.
He looked up at Elaine, who had been stunned for a moment upon hearing the commotion at Komi's place. After blinking a few times, the surprise on her face turned into joy at welcoming her master back to the throne.
"Master! You! You're back!"
"Ha, you really are lucky to be alive."
Demas's mechanical voice also mingled in, marveling at Komi for having accomplished the impossible once again.
"How is the situation now?" Komi asked, his throat bobbing and the muscles in his neck twitching, as if he were in excruciating pain from having his head chopped off, causing him to furrow his brow.
The mark of terror!
Irene was alarmed by Komi's pain and hurriedly asked what she could do to help him.
Her eager gaze was fixed on Komi's face. Even as a navigator, Elaine's third eye was not qualified to see the brand that the Blood God had personally branded on Komi's neck.
"Ugh..."
Sighing, enduring the choking and burning sensation at her neck, Komi told Elaine that she was alright and continued to repeat her questions in a hoarse voice.
Elaine and Demas worked together to fill in the gaps in the Fifth Walker's situation. The Beastmen and mutants on the lower decks were killing each other in the wrath of the Blood God, and many of them died, plunging the entire warship into a manpower shortage once again.
“We need time to recuperate. In my calculations, those beastmen and mutants can restore their population within 20 years.” Demas gave Komi a figure; he was not a merciful being even before he linked with the data sea of the warship.
He ruled the Broken Steel Fortress with a cold-blooded focus on self-interest, and now he can govern the entire warship with the same attitude.
For Demas and his Iron Warriors, both ordinary people without mutations and fully mutated mutants were merely resources to be exploited in order to overthrow the Empire.
"20 years?" Komi raised an eyebrow. In the Warhammer universe, 20 years is indeed not a long time. It may take the Empire's fleet to recalculate tax revenue in 50 years, and a governor may need to wait for a hundred years to get support from the Empire.
Since his transmigration, he has been in the Warhammer world, fighting one battle after another with very little time in between.
Twenty years it is. At worst, we can raid other warring factions and bring their slaves onto our own ships.
The Empire wants to seize it, Chaos wants to seize it, and the Xenomorphs want to seize it too.
Only then can it be considered healthy.
