One tank was pried open, then two tanks were pried open.

The orcs, who were choked and disoriented by the spicy spores, were dragged out and hacked to death with axes. Then the orcs headed for the next tank.

The scales of victory tipped in Komi's favor, but he showed no joy, for the largest and most formidable battle fortress had not yet been activated, and the elite orc troops standing around the leader of the Fangtu tribe had not yet appeared.

This is a powerful force capable of influencing the battlefield situation. Boss Yatu and his guards can easily carve a bloody path through the orc lads and cut off Komi's head.

“Our job is probably to come next,” Komi said, gazing at the battle fortress.

In fact, the battle had already reached a point where it was enough. The casualties their small unit had inflicted on the orcs were enough to warrant rewards and honors from command.

But Koken was not a short-sighted fellow; he understood quite well what killing an orc leader meant to the orcs.

The death of a leader plunges the orcs into chaos, causing them to split and fight amongst themselves until a new leader is born.

Before this, the human empire's army could easily defeat them one by one, restoring peace to the world.

Komi hoped to live a few years of peace and quiet, rather than living by killing in endless battles.

He didn't want Red Mining World to become the next Amigidoton, so he would never let go of any opportunity to kill the leader of the Tooth Boss.

Moreover... he wasn't entirely helpless against Toothbrush Boss.

The electric power axe and powerful bomb he obtained from the Smoky-voiced Technician's legacy will be his greatest assets in killing the leader of the Tooth Thrust. With these two items, Komi felt that even if he couldn't defeat the Tooth Thrust, he could still escape with Mi Yang and the others.

Komi gave his equipment a final check, silently chanting "Long live the Emperor," hoping that this cold, sun-loving-humanity-more-than-himself energy would grant him some of the power to defeat the orcs.

He rushed forward, with Mi Yang, Shi Tou, and the others following closely behind.

Chapter 29: You're even more reckless than an orc

The road to the battle fortress was quite smooth. The orcs on their side dared not stop Gu Jian's advance, while the enemy orcs were suppressed and ran around in all directions.

A power axe cuts through armor plating more smoothly than butter, leaving behind charred, disintegrated edges.

The orcs in the battle fortress were busy capturing those troublesome brats, and as soon as they saw Gu Jian appear in front of them, they immediately turned around and attacked him.

Koken has lost count of how many of these unremarkable orc lads he has killed, not to mention that he now wields an indestructible power axe as his weapon.

With a single axe strike, both weapon and orc were shattered into pieces. Undeterred by fatigue, Koken grew increasingly excited and, guided by the spirit's cries, charged towards the upper levels of the battle fortress.

Boss Yatu and his guards had already massacred the entire upper echelons, and the corpses of hundreds of assassins loyal to the Farting Society were piled up to one side.

His eyes were dark with anger. He couldn't tolerate the betrayal of the farts and vowed to kill all the farts after he twisted off the head of the stick.

Just then, Komi arrived, wielding a crackling power axe.

Because of the special nature of his powered weapons, he didn't have much orc blood on him.

Seeing the burly, toothy boss, Koken didn't waste any words. He pointed his axe at him and said, "You little punk, how about a boss-to-boss fight?"

The leader of the fangs wouldn't refuse Komi's suggestion. He just grinned and marveled at how Komi, this skinny little brat, really had guts. Then he spurred his muscular body forward step by step.

The closer they are, the stronger the pressure from the protruding teeth.

The thick, complete armor was covered with weapons, and the huge claw blades gleamed with a faint blue light, indicating that the claws were also powered weapons.

Koji couldn't help but think that this behemoth should be left to the Space Marines to deal with, but there was no point in thinking about it now, so he might as well focus on the battle ahead.

Suppressing his rage, the leader of the Tooth Thrust launched the first attack, spreading his arms and crushing down like a bulldozer.

There was absolutely no way a miner could withstand this on his own. Gu Jian reached into his waist and pulled out a few small darts with firecrackers attached.

These things aren't particularly dangerous, but they're enough to distract the opponent.

He slammed the firecracker into the face of the boss, sending it crackling and scattering some spicy spore powder.

Tooth choked twice; its resistance to the spicy spores was far stronger than that of other orcs, and it only managed to squeeze out a few tears from the corners of its eyes.

But such harassment was enough for Komi to dodge Yato's charge. He slid through Yato's crotch and swung his axe at Yato's broad back.

The armor was indeed exceptionally thick; even a power axe couldn't cut through the flesh of the toothed protrusion.

Yato suddenly turned around and swung his arm like a heavy hammer at Komi. In the nick of time, Komi could only raise his arm to block it.

With a bang, Komi flew a great distance; if it weren't for the railing, he would have fallen directly down to the bottom of the battle fortress.

That hit was really painful. Even though Komi's armor was welded to the hard armor plates on the Smoky Armor, the force was still transmitted to Komi's whole body.

His arm was painful and numb, and his internal organs were in even worse pain. It was fortunate that the miner's body was tough enough. If it had been a weaker Shangchao man who had taken this hit, they would have lost half their lives long ago.

Komi gritted his teeth. To him, this was like an undead challenging the boss of Dark Souls; the slightest mistake would lead to his death.

Now the only thing we can do is try to load that powerful bomb onto the tooth.

The mere thought of bombs made Komi grit his teeth in hatred. This husky-voiced technician was so obsessed with the power and stability of bombs that he used the most rudimentary method of detonation.

Komi carefully searched his memory and found that only one thing had a detonation mode quite similar to this bomb.

Backup hidden power source, activate!

The bomb was now planted in Komi's chest, facing the enemy he wanted to kill like a Claymore mine.

It wasn't time to fight to the death yet. Komi overcame the pain in his body, grabbed his power axe, and swung it at the fang-tsuru with a loud shout.

The collision of the energy fields burst forth with dazzling light, and Komi relied on his exceptional talent in close combat to deflect the terrifying force of the giant claws time and time again.

This level of close combat skill is rare even among veteran Space Marines who have fought for hundreds of years. It requires both talent and hard work to achieve perfect control and variation of force.

This exquisite fighting style appeared extremely dangerous to Mi Yang, who was merely a mortal, and Shi Tou was even more worried about Gu Jian being constantly at a disadvantage.

They did not make any rash moves, because the guards of Yatu were also watching them with hostile eyes.

The battle between the bosses is magnificent and not to be desecrated.

If Mi Yang and the others provided assistance to Gu Jian without authorization, the orc guards could then legitimately join the battle.

Miyan sighed inwardly, hating himself for being so weak. As a Kadia, was he just supposed to stand here and watch as Yato beat Komi to death?

After Komi was knocked away by Yatsu once again, Mi Yang prepared to lead Ishi and the others to launch an attack, even if it meant risking all their lives to rescue Komi.

Over the past few months of fighting, Miyan has become increasingly convinced that Gujian is a miracle sent by the Emperor. His understanding of the orcs is more thorough than that of the Great Sage of the Mechanicus, and his grasp of the battle situation far surpasses that of her, a novice officer.

Life is the currency of emperors, and the value of ancient people is even higher than theirs.

Miyan clenched her fist, and when she raised it, it marked the beginning of her attack.

Stone and the other conscripts, dressed much like orcs, gripped their weapons tightly. Their eyes showed no fear of death, only regret for not having won the battle.

Gu Jian exhaled a few breaths of stale air, and only then did he recover a lot from his stiff state.

In the previous battle, Yato had also noticed Komi's weakness. This skinny boss's physique was proportional to his strength. Feeling confident of victory, Yato couldn't help but mock, "Once a fart-lover, always a fart-lover. I think even the most fart-lover is nothing special."

Gu Jian chuckled. He was already prepared. First, he glanced at Mi Yang, signaling her to take her men and hide. Then, he took off his helmet, ready to give Ya Tu a surprise.

"Is it possible that I'm not a fart spirit, but a shrimp?" Koji chuckled as he took off his helmet, which he hadn't taken off in a long time.

When Komi doesn't emphasize that he's human, the beastmen just think of him as a strange-looking fart spirit.

When he took the initiative to say that he was human, the vague doubt that had been shrouding the hearts of all the beastmen was suddenly torn away.

Yato was shocked by Komi. He even forgot to continue mocking Komi's weakness and said in disbelief, "Magan is actually a shrimp? A green-skinned shrimp?"

The orc guards were even more astonished, standing there dumbfounded, their minds blank.

Taking advantage of the brief moment when the orc was stunned, Komi ran close to Yato and punched his chest while shouting.

"Go get Brother Mao! Be the witness!"

Chapter 30: Stranded in the Deep Nest

When did I become so reckless?

The instant you were transported to the Warhammer world?

When you gripped that broken piece of metal?

Or when they kill the orcs who charge onto the battlefield one by one?

Everything was pitch black, but my mind was still quite sharp.

Komi carefully considered his experience, and the more he thought about it, the more frightened he became.

Impersonating an orc is one thing, but knowingly running to dangerous places is another.

You could simply stand by and watch two groups of orcs fight to the point of exhaustion, yet you still stubbornly insist on challenging the leader of the Toothbush to a duel.

Finally, he fearlessly detonated the bomb right in front of his face.

Is this my true nature to be so reckless and courageous?

Koken was puzzled. After a long while, he sighed and lamented that he might be mentally unstable due to the pressure of the war, and that he would not care about anything else when he was in a bloodthirsty state.

After an unknown amount of time, the darkness before them was torn apart by countless hazy golden rays, and a throne, its details indistinct and only its outline visible, suddenly appeared in the distance.

"Hehehe... A reward for the brave."

A single sentence drifted by, and Koken felt his consciousness drifting backward.

"Holy crap! I see the throne! I see the damn golden throne!" Komi woke up with a start, sitting up abruptly and shouting. His heart was pounding as he realized he was in a dark, gloomy cave, the only source of light being some unknown moss that glowed with fluorescent green light.

"You're awake? Thank goodness, I knew you wouldn't die like this!" A surprised, hoarse voice came from the other side.

Koji looked closely and saw that it was Mi Yang staring at him with a concerned and devout expression.

Miyang was in bad shape. Not only had he lost all his hair, but half of his face was also burned. The scars after healing made Miyang look even uglier than the orcs.

Stone's head popped out from behind her. This guy had all his arms and legs and looked much better than Mi Yang at first glance.

Ask a question and answer a question.

A few minutes later, Koken realized his current predicament.

Smoker's bomb was indeed of good quality; the close-range explosion killed Toothbrush instantly, and the entire battle fortress was on the verge of collapse under such a blow.

Komi and Yato were buried under the roof of the battle fortress, which was the first part to collapse.

In a moment of crisis, Mi Yang and the others escaped before the fortress completely collapsed. The entire battlefield fell into a deathly silence due to the deaths of the two orc leaders. Then, the orcs went into a frenzy, shouting that they were the leaders and starting a new round of fighting.

Mi Yang had a vague feeling that Gu Jian was still alive, so she threw herself into the still-hot wreckage of the battle fortress and began digging, her hands smelling burnt but she didn't stop.

Thanks to the Emperor, Gu Jian was not trapped in the prison made of those thick steel beams, but was crushed by iron plates. Mi Yang dug Gu Jian out of the wrecked Strong Pi Jing armor, and then carried his seriously injured and unconscious body out.

The orcs fully embodied the tactic of striking while the iron was hot, and as soon as they saw Komi's weakened state, they jumped up one by one and said they would kill him and take his place.
