“How interesting.” Komi was not afraid of Bishop Arisha, who was going all out, knowing that he was not the only one who had broken free from the psionic suppression of Blackrock Fortress.
Two loyal and reliable demons, Gouzi and Mimi, had found an infinite circuit surging with souls while the Eldar and Orcs were entangled. They suppressed their hunger, tore open the infinite circuit, and provided all the souls extracted from it to Gujian.
Souls entangle him, reshaping his armor.
Koji felt Markars' power surrounding him. The orcs were not enough to test the limits of this borrowed power, but an Eldar bishop could.
Bishop Alisha stared blankly at the soul armor on Komi's body. His anger was on the verge of bursting. He didn't even want to ask how Komi had done it. He screamed hysterically, "How dare you desecrate the souls of my people!!!"
Gu Jian looked at the spirit soul wrapped around his blade with disdain and replied, "You call this blasphemy? I call it making the best use of resources. But don't worry, you'll soon become one of them."
"How dare you!" Bishop Alissa charged forward, his body, driven by rage, stronger and faster than ever before. Kane's power flowed through his blood, making it scalding hot.
So fast!
Koji saw hundreds of orc heads suddenly fly up, their spurting blood a sign of Bishop Arisa's arrival.
Clang! The Soul Blade and the Psionic Blade collided, surging with each other's power.
The sound echoed and drifted into the ears of the distraught Novia.
Chapter 500: The Spirit Clan Betrays the Spirit Clan? We Just Have Different Goals.
I... I should pull myself together...
I shouldn't continue to wallow in this despair. Bishop Alexei is right; the destiny of our people is not determined by the will of the Creator. We must struggle on...
But why... why can't I muster any fighting spirit?
Novia reached out her hand, and the trembling of her hand revealed her weakness and incompetence. She tried to lift her spirits, but only plunged herself into deeper despair. The words of the ancient saint lingered in her ears.
She dismissed the Eldar who were taking care of her and reached into her robes to retrieve the ticket to the Black Library. She wanted to make a prophecy to confirm that they had simply gone to the wrong place.
The entrance ticket to the Black Library reflected the light, and through it, Novia saw a clown standing behind her, the smile on his clown mask practically mocking her efforts.
A clown troupe? What are they up to now?
Realizing something was wrong, Novia gathered her psychic energy in her palm, preparing to turn around and release it onto the clown.
But the clown standing behind him was faster than Novia had imagined, and almost instantly put a black stone collar around Novia's neck and activated it.
With a buzzing sound, Novia's psychic energy was calmed by the black stone collar, and even her soul became languid and drowsy.
Such a sudden change should have drawn an attack from Novia's guards, but the clown had already dealt with the Eldar. A mournful song echoed here, plunging the Eldar who heard it into a hallucination of the most painful and confused moment of their lives from which they could not extricate themselves.
The clown's voice carried a cynicism that even the Eldar would find hard to tolerate: "Novia, prepare for your fate."
"Fate? What fate?"
The clown didn't give a detailed answer, but simply brushed his hand across Novia's face. The next moment, Novia found herself in a circular hall, where the other Ark leaders, wise prophets, and warlike bishops stood around, scrutinizing her soul.
"Novia, you will pay the price for your theft," a Spirit Prophet with silver hair said coldly, tapping the ground with his staff to show his determination to judge Novia.
Novia stared at him blankly, and soon remembered what she had obtained from his Ark: a branch of the Dream Tree from the Lost Old Woman's World. It could connect the user with the consciousness of the dead in the Ark's Infinite Circuit without succumbing to madness. Novia used this branch to temporarily quell the undead turmoil in her Ark's Infinite Circuit.
"No! That wasn't stealing!" Novia cried out urgently. "I begged for your help, but you ignored me. I did this to save my ark and my people."
"Saved your Ark?" a scorpion bishop clad in green armor scoffed. Novia felt that the way he looked at her was similar to how she looked at Fidel, this half-spirit hybrid.
Assault Scorpion Bishop activated his chainsaw sword, pointing the wild weapon at Novia and roaring, "Your Ark is no longer worth saving. The Infinite Circuit has long been corrupted by demons. Your attempts to save the Infinite Circuit only bring you closer to the demons. Your soul is no longer pure."
"No! That's just wishful thinking! Our Ark is simply sick, and I can cure it once I find a way!"
Novia's pale face was utterly unconvincing; she tried her best to maintain her dignity in front of these Elven races, but only received more rebukes.
Thief! Failed leader! Corrupt and unclean!
"No!" Novia denied these shameful titles. She tried to escape, but this only plunged her into the darkness of the ground. She reached up to try to escape, but was forcefully slapped back by the disgusted and hateful eyes of the other Eldar.
No!!! You can't abandon my people like this! They are innocent! They are pure!
Novia's desperate screams went unheard. The clown who had brought her there sat suspended in mid-air, watching Novia convulse on the ground like a masterful mime artist.
After a long silence, he muttered to himself, "Will this really work? Can she truly become a key part of the Laughing God's plan?"
The clown knew he shouldn't be asking that question, so he shook his head, stood up, and walked toward Fidelity, who was tied up and left aside.
Fidel was horrified by the scene before him. The prophet Novia lay on the ground, her life hanging in the balance, while the other Eldar stood frozen like zombies, uttering incomprehensible babbling. Only the clown who had caused all this still wore a sinister smile, showing no remorse whatsoever for the suffering of his people.
"Alright, alright, don't be afraid," the clown said softly, his tone and the smile on his mask making him appear as a heartless and ruthless killer.
Fidelity's lips trembled as he gritted his teeth and cursed, "You damned aliens! You'd even betray your own kind!"
"Shh..." The clown was very dissatisfied with what Fidelity said. He put his finger to Fidelity's lips and sent out a deathly taste. "This is not betrayal, but just an attempt that must be made to achieve a greater goal."
After saying this, the clown picked up Fuda and headed towards the giant tree formed from the soul crystal.
Fidel struggled fiercely, yelling at the clown, "What are you doing? Let me go! The Savior won't forgive you! The Saint won't forgive you either!"
The clown chuckled, a laugh that carried a profound meaning in Fidelity's ears. It seemed he knew more about the saint and the savior, but was too lazy to explain in detail.
"Alright, now's your time to shine!" The clown grabbed Fidelity with one hand and waved the other at his face. Fidelity's face, which had been filled with surprise and fear, immediately showed signs of drowsiness. He yawned several times and fell into a deep sleep.
Then the clown took out an evil talisman that was clearly forged by a demon. As an Eldar, simply holding this talisman in his hand attracted the covetous eyes of many predators in the Warp. If it weren't for the protection of the Laughing God, his soul would have been torn to pieces long ago.
"God of Laughter, may your ultimate joke save my people."
After chanting softly, the clown removed his mask, revealing a face vastly different from that of the Eldar. His completely black eyes were the only ones that could be seen on the bodies of Slaanesh demons, and the two sharp horns on his forehead foreshadowed an irreparable flaw in the clown's soul.
After quickly recalling his life, the clown grabbed Fidelity and walked step by step toward the crystal tree. Along the way, his feet were assimilated by the crystal, but he pretended nothing was wrong and lifted his feet up forcefully. Soon he lost everything below his knees.
He dug a hole in the trunk of the crystal tree with his hands to accommodate Fuda. The great tree, which could assimilate the Elven race into the same crystal, was helpless against the half-elf Fuda. Unable to push Fuda out, the tree could only heal its own wounds, which resulted in Fuda being tightly embraced by the tree.
The final step is to offer one's own blood.
With his last strength, the clown pulled out his heart and crushed it in front of the tree, his hot, fresh blood splashing onto the base of the tree.
The blood was absorbed by the tree, and the clown's fallen corpse was assimilated into a dazzling crystal. Amidst the slumbering breaths of Fuda and the inescapable groans of Novia, a powerful demon sealed within an infinite circuit was awakening.
"Offering boundless pleasure to the Lord of Debauchery!!!"
With a roar from the demon, the crystal tree that could refract all light suddenly emitted a lewd purple-pink light, and the spirit souls trapped in the infinite circuit were enslaved by the demon.
Chapter 501: The Effects of Charm
Komi, who forged his armor using the soul from the Infinite Circuit, immediately sensed the fluctuations caused by the demon's resurgence.
Such a powerful aura! Even stronger than the Masked Dancer! Did he grow so strong by consuming the souls within the Infinite Circuit?
Shocked, Komi abruptly cut off the supply of soul energy. This moment of distraction gave Bishop Alisa the opportunity. With bloodshot eyes, he lunged forward and slashed at Komi's head.
Komi leaned back to dodge, but Bishop Alisa persisted, using his exposed elbow as a bayonet to stab Komi in the chest.
The bone spur pierced through the Markus armor formed from Komi's soul, shattered his ribs, and punctured a hole in his lung.
In pain, Koji retaliated by slapping Bishop Alissa hard across the face, sending him flying dozens of meters away to crash into the rubble.
Komi clutched his chest, waiting for the blood to heal his wounds. He glanced at Bishop Arisa and couldn't help but curse under his breath.
These spirits claim to be strange, but they're not normal people either!
A large group of orcs have made their home on their ark, and a powerful demon is sealed within the Infinite Circuit. Also, the Eldar bishop was just consumed by rage and swallowed the fragments of the Bloodhand God, Cain!
Normally, Eldar summon fragments of Kane, but you, in your extreme anger, tilted your head back and gulped it down, allowing your body to briefly allow Kane to descend!
Amidst Komi's muttering, Bishop Alisha rose from the rubble. The psionic energy enveloping his entire body burned and churned like flames. His armor was scorched, revealing magma-like patterns. With each breath, his charred face exhaled extremely hot blood vapor, which burned his lips, revealing sharp teeth. This was precisely the face that Kane should have.
The original Bishop Alessar is dead. When Kane's enemies fall and his anger dissipates, his body will fall like a cooled stone.
On one side, demons are rising, and on the other side, Bishop Alissa has transformed himself into Kane. Komi began to regret the trash talk he had uttered during the battle. If he had said less, Bishop Alissa might not have angrily swallowed the fragment in one gulp.
But... the Eldar's expression of being furious yet helpless was just too funny.
The only consolation for Koji at this moment was that the fragment of Kane that Bishop Alissa had swallowed was not large. He could see clearly that it was a red fragment about the size of a little fingernail. If it were larger, it would attract more Kane power, and Koji dared not say that he could defeat Bishop Alissa while wearing the Armor of Markarth.
When Bishop Arisa noticed this somewhat naive idea, he spat hot blood onto the knife, making it even sharper.
Huh? You can do it, but I can't?
Komi slashed the blade across his hand, staining the Markarth Armor, which was only a pale white color, with a touch of crimson.
"Kill!" Bishop Alissa roared to the sky.
Koji, who was also burdened with debt, said in a cheeky tone, "Kane, your shout doesn't sound as energetic as your colleague's."
Bishop Alissa almost instantly covered the distance between him and Komi, his blood-red blade flashing so fast that the smell above was left far behind.
Jingle bells!
Komi blocked all of Bishop Alissa's attacks. Once his passive stacks were full, Komi immediately switched from defense to offense, actively meeting Bishop Alissa's blood-stained blade. In the previous battle, Komi had used this method to sever one of Bishop Alissa's arms, but this did not weaken the bishop's aggression; on the contrary, it made him even more ferocious.
Even in his rage, Bishop Alisa's combat experience hadn't diminished. He was silently calculating Komi's slashes, almost shouting in his mind along with Komi.
The fifth time!
He then leaped away, gathering all his strength and flying backward, causing Komi's fierce slash to miss and strike a broken pillar behind him instead.
Komi sighed inwardly. When facing someone with combat experience, if you can't suddenly kill them based on the unfamiliarity of a first meeting, they will become wary of your own qualities.
At this moment, Komi and Bishop Arisa's eyes met. The rage in Arisa's eyes gave Komi a headache. Without being able to use his soul to repair Markarth's Armor, a war of attrition would only lead to his defeat.
The Armor of Markarth can borrow the power of Markarth, but it also has great flaws due to the issue of soul creation. In addition to requiring a large number of souls to be seized during its creation, it is also consumed too quickly in high-intensity battles.
Koji could clearly feel that every time his soul-encased weapon clashed with Bishop Arisa's blood-stained blade, his soul dimmed a little, and his power diminished accordingly.
But this is not a problem for Markus; even if his armor is covered in wounds, it does not affect his performance.
The fifth attack missed again. Due to the dissipation of his soul, Komi's armor was missing the helmet and breastplate. Bishop Alisa, who had jumped onto the roof, was wearing a confident smile with his ferocious face.
We can't drag this out any longer. We have to find a way to make Bishop Alissa give up on escaping when the fifth attack comes and just stand there and take the blow!
But how do we do it?
Ella? Gate? Kranka?
Tsk... They don't have combat suits, so there's no way they could get involved in this kind of battle. Right now, just the wind whipped up by Bishop Alissa running past them would be enough to knock them over.
As his fingers touched the ring, Komi suddenly realized that he not only possessed the power of Markarth, the grace of Khorne, and the White Hall, but also the alluring curse that the Masked Dancer had obtained from Slaanesh.
Komi made many efforts to suppress this strange charm, creating a ring to suppress it and maintaining an arrogant persona at all times to counteract the allure emanating from it. Even so, many strange things happened in his Punisher: the overly active machine spirits and their ambiguous relationship with their operators, as well as the increasing birth rate every few months. Komi was too lazy to comment on these.
Perhaps it's time to make use of this power? But what if it attracts the resurrected demon?
Damn! Lure him over, lure him over! If you don't go to him, do you think he won't come to you?
