This thing still gave Komi a heart-pounding sensation, and even vaguely guided him in certain directions.
After looking around, Komi found himself in a deep pit. Looking up, he could see the sky of the Nest City, which was tinged with a decadent purple-pink.
marvelous...
Gu Jian sighed. This Red Mining World was so remote, yet it lacked nothing.
Outside the hive are orcs, below are the Nurgle cult, above are the Slaanesh cult, and sandwiched in between is this indefinable, ambiguous thing of mine...
It seems that staying away from the Emperor's Light really doesn't mean anything good; without the protection of that light, evil spirits can easily cause trouble.
The muddy red pill was throbbing more and more violently, as if urging Komi to take action.
Koji always found the pill in his hand very strange, like a creation of a demon, but now it seemed normal enough, showing no signs of Nurgle's corruption or Slaanesh's depravity.
It can't possibly be related to Khorne or Tzeentch, can it...? Komi couldn't help but mutter to himself.
Looking around, Komi realized that the crater wasn't formed during the explosion and collapse. He felt it was more likely the effect of Slaanesh's corruption, which had created some supernatural landforms in the world.
He stroked the soft ground beneath his feet, his hands now covered in aphrodisiac-scented, sticky fluid. Even though Komi had just escaped death, he could easily start playing the jazz drums.
Something that looks like intestines...
Komi shook his hand in disgust, then found the bodies of other vehicles and soldiers that had fallen with him among the soft, juicy flesh.
Some of the vehicles were still intact, but they were embedded in the flesh and difficult to pull out.
Some vehicles were assimilated, the boundary between flesh and iron was no longer clear, and eerie breathing sounds came from inside.
Upon opening the hatches of the intact vehicles, Komi discovered that the people inside were still alive. Judging from their expressions, they were definitely trapped in the same kind of delusional state as him.
"Hey! Wake up, you lot! We haven't won yet! The demon is right next to us!" Komi shook the group, but received no response.
In the end, he could only place his hopes on his own blood. He cut his wrist with the dagger he carried, and a bloody smell, different from the deep pit of flesh, flowed into the noses of these people.
They suddenly woke up, then looked at Koken with confused eyes, muttering names he didn't recognize.
Slaanesh is adept at using people's inherent desires and flaws to lure them into gradual depravity. These people's delusions are undoubtedly incredibly beautiful, and then they shatter at their peak.
"Komi...Komi-sage?" a soldier stammered, and Komi patted him on the shoulder and simply replied.
"Everything you have experienced is a lie; only the lack of rest is the truth."
Then Komi gave the soldiers a chance to think and react, and continued to search for the remaining survivors in the deep pit without stopping.
General Derek, Commissar Tran, Captain Miyan, communications soldier Stone, Sister Nancy—all the people Komi frequently saw were still alive, which made him marvel at this coincidence.
The pit contracted, then secreted more fluid, like a normally functioning stomach.
Chapter 76: The Power to Unify Everything
Everyone awoke to the smell of Komi's blood, their expressions varied, but their eyes held the same bewilderment.
Sister Nancy was the first to react. As the emperor's daughter, these devout and fanatical warriors were able to deal with their situation with a cold mind.
The ever-shrinking, approaching wall of flesh and the sizzling, unidentified liquid filled Sister Nancy with disgust and hatred. She immediately looked at Komi, pleading for the saint's instructions.
Koji looked up, realizing how difficult it would be to climb out of that soft, slippery wall of flesh.
Then he looked down, wondering if the blood flowing from his wrist could bring about more miracles.
Blood is amazing; every god loves this pungent, sticky substance.
Komi crouched down and, on a whim, dripped a few drops of blood onto the ground beneath his feet. The ground, now indistinguishable from flesh and blood, greedily swallowed Komi's blood and then, to his astonishment, began to writhe rather abnormally.
It was another familiar five-second wait. Gu Jian was no longer surprised or puzzled by it. He watched as his blood dispersed a portion of his flesh, causing a small, finger-sized rock to appear in this nightmare land.
Disperse corrosion? This should be for dispersing corrosion, right?
Koken blinked, knowing that his blood was indeed effective, but he had no idea how it worked. In the end, he could only use his other hand to protect his wrist and try to leave some blood in his palm.
Then he shouted to Sister Nancy and the crowd who were slowly emerging from their confusion, "Move closer to the wall! We must create a path to climb up!"
Komi approached the contracting flesh wall, continuously smearing fresh blood on it. The blood was rapidly twisting the flesh, revealing its natural form.
However, there is too much flesh and blood and too little blood.
After all that effort, Komi could only manage to smear a patch of blood about half the size of his body.
If this continues, I'll bleed to death here before I even get out of the cave!
Koji roared inwardly, realizing that the method he had just considered his lifeline had suddenly become useless.
Think about it, Komi... You have to think of a way to die in this disgusting cave!
Komi racked his brains, recalling and reviewing the jumbled Warhammer knowledge in his mind one by one.
His nervousness went unnoticed by those behind him, but his pale face, a result of blood loss, was undeniable.
Sister Nancy's face showed guilt towards Saint Komi for sacrificing himself so recklessly, and like Miyan before her, she was tormented by her own powerlessness.
Miyang was the first to kneel down in front of Komi's busy back. She had become increasingly devout after experiencing many crazy and impossible things with Komi.
She could initially comfort herself by thinking that Komi was just a somewhat strong soldier, and that she was Komi's superior officer, and that a soldier should obey orders from his superiors.
This makes sense; that's how you're taught in Cadia: obey your superiors and carry out their orders with your life.
But later events proved that Miyan's idea was completely wrong. Komi was born extraordinary, and it was blasphemous and despicable of him to treat him as a capable soldier.
What right did she have to issue orders in front of the Sage Komi? And what right did she have to speak rashly before the Sage had even given a word?
Miyan deeply regretted her previous offense, so she learned from the silent stone and remained silent unless Komi asked her to, and then silently praised the greatness and extraordinary nature of the saint Komi in her heart.
This subtle shift from the arrogance of the Cardia officer towards the Red Mining World conscripts to his pious attitude was transformed into Miyan's chanting, resonating deep within Komi's soul.
The sound was so ethereal that when Komi first heard it, he thought it was the groaning of the flesh wall as it transformed from flesh and blood.
But the praise led by Miyan was amplified, because the remaining survivors, inspired by her, also knelt before Komi's back and then blessed and praised Komi with the silent shrine.
The sound grew louder and clearer, then transformed into an undeniable tide crashing against his soul.
The blood from Komi was not fully replenished, but its effects were more than a thousand times stronger than before. A single drop of blood could twist and restore the shape of several square meters of flesh to normal.
Komi was astonished by this. In the devout praise, there was no mention of the emperor's name or the participation of other deities. Only the words "Komi the Sage" shone brightly in the religious scriptures.
In the midst of his busy work, he turned his head to take a quick look and saw the survivors kneeling on one knee, eyes closed, heads bowed, and hands clasped together in silent prayer for him.
Komi was stunned... then it all became clear.
In the materialistic yet idealistic world of Warhammer, it's not a pipe dream to conjure miracles through faith and piety, especially since I've actually heard and seen that hazy shadow of the throne.
We must make good use of this power...
Komi felt eager to try, but he didn't know the knowledge of constructing spells and could only proceed slowly based on his intuition.
He stopped what he was doing and then roused the people who were praying in his name with his voice.
Komi moved his lips, speaking to the crowd in what he considered a safe and discreet manner, "The Lord on the throne can no longer bestow His power, but I need your support..."
“Chosen One of the Great Emperor, what do you need us to do?” Sister Nancy bowed deeply to Komi.
Komi glanced at the crowd and was surprised to find them standing in groups of five.
The number five flashed through his mind once more, and he grew increasingly worried that his close association with this number five would attract the unknown deity to this place.
But he had no other choice but to go with the flow and grit his teeth to get through the current difficulties.
He specifically pulled out Sister Nancy, Miyan, General Derek, Commissar Tran, and Stone to stand in a pentagram formation, and the remaining survivors were arranged in order behind them.
Komi, positioned at the very center of the formation, commanded Sister Nancy to lead a prayer consisting of a short five-word blessing, his voice trembling slightly.
The somewhat loose power was bound by this simple formation, allowing Koji to sense it more clearly.
A cold and austere sense of holiness...
A manic and irritable bloodlust...
A foul and bloated smell of decay...
Unpredictable and unpredictable changes...
A decadent and depraved lustful heart...
This power seems to encompass everything yet oppose everything, embrace everything yet antagonize everything.
It shifts from a gentle and peaceful start to a violent and agitated one.
Komi gasped for breath, as extreme emotions, behaviors, and praises all pressed down on his weak soul.
Five forces cycle endlessly, five voices resonate in one's ears, ultimately guiding Komi to spontaneously make the most correct decision.
Chapter 77: The Gods' Investment
Komi groaned and screamed silently, enduring the torment of being overwhelmed by extreme emotions she could not escape—it felt like a moment and yet also like eternity.
The Warhammer worldview, one of utter desolation and utter hopelessness, slowly took shape in his mind, revealing the past and future of every race and civilization before his eyes.
The fearful of death live only a day and die at dusk, clinging to their crumbling mechanical minds in cold, ancient tombs. They won the final victory, but their spoils were a withered galaxy shattered beyond repair.
The Eldar were devoured by the gods born from their own corruption. The survivors, less than one in ten, eked out a living by wandering around and drawing their swords against the weaker ones in an attempt to live for another second.
Humanity, once glorious, has withered under natural disasters and man-made calamities. The survivors can only seek knowledge for self-preservation by guarding the ashes in the ruined library. One by one, those who aspire to lead humanity to rise from these ashes are thrown into this endless abyss and perish.
The most dazzling emperor among them has been bound to his throne, enduring unimaginable torment for millennia, and one day he too will become like Slaanesh, devouring all the humanity he swore to protect.
The entire galaxy grew dimmer amidst the mockery of the evil gods, and the only flickering glimmer of hope was merely a deliberate act by these deities.
Hysterical in order to survive, willing to do anything to stay alive.
Heavy shackles twisted and bound the human empire, forcing it to constantly waver between extreme order and extreme chaos...
"vomit!"
The overwhelming amount of information became increasingly unbearable for Komi, and his body was on the verge of collapse. He collapsed to the ground amidst the panicked gazes of the crowd, unable even to groan.
"Sage! Sage! How are you?"
In a daze, Gu Jian could only hear everyone shouting this sentence. He opened his mouth as if to emphasize something, but no one could understand what his slightly parted lips were trying to express.
However, the formation did not collapse because of Komi's fall. The complex power that had been combined spread out from Komi as the center, purifying the deep pit that had been completely assimilated into flesh and blood back to its natural form.
I might be dying...
Komi thought this again, but this time he had nothing left but the anxious shouts of the crowd.
