"Then I'll shoot you down."

Kugizaki flicked his right hand, sending two nails flying.

Nishimiya Momo tilted the broom to the side, and she and the broom flipped in the air in a half-circle, the nail passing under her.

Before it had even come to a complete stop, three more appeared.

She dodged again, using the momentum of her dive to rush straight at Kugisaki.

She skimmed across the ground at high speed, the airflow from the end of her broom whipping up dirt and stones that pelted Kugizaki.

Kugizaki raised her arm to shield her eyes, and through her fingers she saw Nishimiya Momo rise up immediately after passing by her, and then crash into her from behind.

Kugizaki fell forward, and the broom grazed less than half an inch above her back.

"All you can do is throw nails and lie on the ground?" Nishimiya Momo made a small circle in the air and turned around.

Kugizaki got up from the ground and watched Nishimiya Momo hovering low in the sky.

This person's flight path is very flexible, and it is even more difficult to predict when flying close to the ground.

But the key issue wasn't how good her flying skills were, but that she had no other weapons.

Momo Nishimiya relies on the broom; all her attacks are launched using the broom itself.

A broom is both a weapon and a weakness.

Kugizaki clamped the nail back in place and flung one at the swirling broom.

Nishimiya Momo sped past, then landed on the ground, one hand outstretched forward.

The broom slipped from her hand and flew towards Kugizaki on its own, striking him horizontally on the head.

Kugizaki dodged the broom handle to the side, but the broom turned around on its own in mid-air and crashed into her from the side.

The broom struck Kugizaki's shoulder with much more force than it appeared, causing her to stagger and nearly lose her balance.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, the broom circled behind her and slammed horizontally into the back of her knees.

Kugizaki knelt on one knee, supporting himself on the ground with one hand, and with the other hand, he swung a nail back to force the broom back.

The broom jumped back into Nishimiya Momo's hand.

Kugizaki knelt on one knee, panting.

During the previous round, she had been observing that when Nishimiya Momo controlled the broom, there was a flow of magical energy in her fingers.

Her spell power output increases when the broom attacks independently, but the broom only has two attack modes: ramming and striking.

When she gets close, she will call her broom back because her physical defense is not high.

Kugizaki stood up, dusted off his knees, and tightened his headband again.

“Your broom is so obedient,” Kugizaki said.

"Of course, they're much more obedient than some people's nails."

Kugisaki didn't say anything, switched the hammer to his left hand, and reached into his waist pouch with his right hand.

Nishimiya Momo watched her movements.

She's about to throw nails again. This person has been throwing nails since the start of the fight. She's figured out the range; it's about ten to twelve meters. If she stays outside that distance, she can't hit them.

Kugizaki threw out a nail.

Nishimiya Momo dodged one arrow after another, with the same frequency and force as before, and started falling at about twelve meters.

Nishimiya Momo's wariness gradually decreased after repeated confirmations.

Kugizaki reached her right hand into her pouch again, but before pulling it out, she secretly conjured a new nail in her palm.

The Cursed Power Nail is made of pure cursed power, is semi-transparent, and is lighter and has a longer range than ordinary nails.

She has only recently been able to use it reliably in actual combat, and can only make three at a time; this is her secret weapon.

Nishimiya Momo descended to a position about five or six meters above the ground, preparing to launch another broom attack on her.

Kugizaki has made his move.

An ordinary nail flew out head-on. Xi Gongtao saw its trajectory clearly. Just like before, it would fall down before it reached her distance. She did not dodge.

But at the very end of the trail of that ordinary nail, hidden beneath its shadow, lay another one.

The Cursed Nail is translucent, weightless, and twice as fast as a regular nail.

By the time Nishimiya Momo noticed, the cursed nail had already flown to the front of the broom and pierced through the cursed core in the center of the broom handle.

The broom trembled violently. Nishimiya Momo grabbed the broom handle and tried to stabilize the spell again, but the cursed nail remained inside the broom handle, and her cursed power was scattered as soon as she injected it in.

The broom began to fall, and she used the last bit of control to cushion the fall.

When Nishimiya Momo's foot touched the ground, she stumbled two steps and almost twisted her ankle. The broom lay motionless on the ground.

Kugizaki was already waiting there.

She rushed over, shoved the broom aside with her left hand so it slid to the base of the tree, and held the hammer in her right hand, but didn't raise it.

"How's the ground warfare going?"

Xigong Tao knelt on the ground, watching her broom being pushed under the tree roots. She remained silent for a while, then closed her eyes and sighed.

"I surrender."

Kugizaki blinked. "Huh?"

“The competition rules state that you can’t continue to attack a contestant who has already lost their fighting ability.” Nishimiya Momo stood up and dusted off her skirt. “My spells rely on a broom. Without a broom, I can’t do anything. It’s not something that can’t be admitted.”

She went over, picked up the broom, and examined the damage to the handle.

The cursed nails have disappeared, but the disrupted cursed circuits inside the broom have not yet been restored. There are no visible cracks on the outside, but the spell is running much slower than usual.

She looked at Kugizaki and said, "Didn't you manage to hit me with one shot at the beginning? Why did you keep using regular nails?"

“Because you can’t say it.” Kugisaki hung the hammer back on his side. “I had to use the cursed nails to force you down. Ordinary nails don’t have enough range, while cursed nails do, but they can’t give you time to prepare. So I’ll use ordinary nails first to get you used to it.”

"You've been lying to me from the very beginning."

"Do you even understand tactics? Tactics." Kugizaki grinned.

Looking at this smiling face, Nishimiya Momo realized it was completely different from the silver-haired girl she had seen in the preparation room earlier.

One is a chilling murderous aura, the other is a passionate and straightforward spirit.

How exactly does the Tokyo campus recruit students?

Kugizaki turned around, preparing to run towards the main group, but stopped and looked back after running two steps.

"Hey."

"Ok?"

"When you were watching Huzhang get beaten up there, did you secretly hit him once?"

Nishimiya Momo paused for a moment, then said, "No."

"That's good." Kugizaki waved his hand and disappeared into the forest.

Nishimiya Momo stood there, holding a broom, watching her figure disappear among the shadows of the trees.

The resounding drumbeats of war, heavy with the force of punches, still echoed from the open field in the distance. Itachi and Todo were still locked in combat.

Chapter 57 Three Rounds of Clouds

Miwa Kasumi walked in the forest for almost five minutes before realizing she was lost.

The map is in Kamo's hands, Toudou is fighting with Itadori, Nishimiya Momo's communicator is not responding after being knocked down by Nue, and Mai and Kaikimaru should be in the plains area but she can't tell which way is which.

The trees here all look the same, and the leaves feel the same when you step on them. The canopy overhead is so dense that sunlight can't penetrate.

She really didn't know where she was.

She sighed, found a tree root to sit on, placed the scabbard across her knees, and took a sip of water from the kettle.

Although the water was a bit lukewarm on this hot day, it was better than nothing.

Then she heard footsteps, steady and calm, not the sound of a cursed spirit.

Miwa Kasumi tightened the kettle and stood up when Zenji Maki emerged from the shadows between two trees.

The spear was slung over her right shoulder, and her gaze behind her glasses swept over Miwa Kasumi from head to toe.

"Got you."

Miwa Kasumi instinctively took a half-step back, but immediately felt that this reaction was too cowardly, so she forcefully pulled her foot back.

She picked up the scabbard, drew the sword, gripped the hilt with both hands, and aimed the tip of the blade at Maki, her posture perfectly executed.

“Maki from the Zen school in Tokyo,” Kasumi Miwa said. “Mai’s older sister, right?”

"Good to know." Maki took the spear off her shoulder, gripped the butt of the shaft with one hand, and dragged the spear tip on the ground, leaving a shallow mark. "I have a question for you."

Miwa Kasumi looked at her, gripped the hilt of her sword, and waited for what was to come.

"Before the competition started, did your Kyoto school plan to kill Hisahito Itadori?"

The tip of the knife twitched slightly, a very small movement, but Maki noticed it.

Kasumi Miwa's body trembled slightly.

She recalled the spatial rifts in the lounge that nearly killed everyone, and the murderous aura that suffocated everyone.

My heart almost stopped when I remembered Mashiro saying "kill without mercy".

Her face turned pale, and she shook her head repeatedly: "No, no... that supervisor came by, but he didn't intend to kill that... that guy, yes, Itadori Hisahito."

Her words were incoherent, but Maki managed to glean the core message.

It turns out that Mashiro had already entered the Kyoto school's preparation room before the competition started. No wonder the Kyoto school students didn't look quite right when they entered.
