Kugizaki was biting the straw; most of the ice in her drink had melted, and the straw was flattened from her bite.

"We can't spend too much time resolving this either," Itachi mumbled, chewing on a rice ball.

"Why?" Kugizaki asked, looking up.

“Because it’s a famous haunted site,” Shunpei said, taking a sip of water. “It’s very likely that other people are also under a curse.”

"Yes, yes, that's exactly what I mean."

Itadori patted Shunpei on the shoulder, his voice heavy: "The lethality of this curse is currently 100%. If it can't be resolved soon..."

“People will still die, right?” Kugizaki sighed, then continued, “It’s infuriating, those damned cursed spirits.”

Just as they were feeling troubled, the delinquent cyclist from school arrived.

"Great! We've found you!"

"Huh? Who is it?" Kugizaki looked at him in confusion.

"Your junior, Fukuro, you wanted to teach him a lesson before?" Itadori said helplessly.

"Senior Fukuro!" The delinquent rode up quickly. "It's so good to have found you guys since you mentioned the Eighty-Eight Bridges."

Upon closer inspection, Fushiguro Megumi realized that the delinquent hadn't come alone; he had a girl on his bicycle.

He looked somewhat familiar. After thinking for a moment, he hesitated before speaking, "...Fujinuma?"

Then, looking at the puzzled group, Fushiguro Megumi explained, "They were classmates from before."

"It's so good that you still remember me." Fujinuma bowed slightly, secretly relieved.

“My sister and I talked about Senior Fukuro and the matter you guys are investigating yesterday. She said it seems like there’s some clue.”

The delinquent spread his hands and pointed to his older sister.

"Yes, I heard you were investigating Morishita and Hachijuhashi, and I was thinking there might be some connection."

"A connection?" Fukuro asked, puzzled, looking at the somewhat timid girl in front of him. "What exactly is it?"

“It might not be related.” Fujinuma swallowed nervously. “When we were in the second year of junior high, a few of us went to the Eighty-Eight Bridges together at night.”

"Huh?" Kugizaki exclaimed in surprise, "Have you noticed anything strange lately?"

Upon hearing this, Fujinuma's face turned ashen, and he clenched his fists tightly.

She took a few deep breaths before saying in a trembling voice, "The automatic doors in my family's shop are only left open when I go back."

The details match up perfectly!

The four exchanged a glance.

Shunping moved a little closer and asked her softly, "Around when did you discover this situation?"

"It happened about a week ago, and it happened every other day." Fujinuma's face was pale, and he seemed to be quite frightened.

Upon hearing her answer, Fushiguro Megumi whispered to Itadori.

"The other victims all experienced their accidents about two weeks after the incident."

"That means it's safe for now, but there's not much time left." Itari nodded.

Kugizaki glanced at the two people behind him, then stepped forward and asked, "Even though so much time has passed, do you still remember how many people you went to the Eighty-Eight Bridges with?"

"I went with two senior members of the club."

Fujinuma thought for a moment, then said to Fushiguro, "By the way, Tsumiki was with us back then too."

Upon hearing the unexpected name, Fushiguro Megumi's pupils widened suddenly, but she quickly suppressed them.

He nodded and said to her, "I see. Then I'll ask Tsumiki when I get back."

Having finished their questioning, the delinquent left with Fujinuma.

After they were gone, Fushiguro Megumi couldn't control himself and his breathing became heavy.

"Fukuguro!" Itachi, noticing Fukuguro Megumi's unusual behavior, patted his shoulder. "Cheer up!"

"Let's check if she's safe first." Shunpei had already taken out his phone and dialed Ijichi's number.

When the call connected, he briefly explained the situation.

"I understand the situation."

“I will send someone to protect Tsumiki’s safety,” Ijichi said on the other end of the phone, then checked the tablet in his hand. “But there are too many things going on lately, and only one Level 2 is available.”

Iji hesitated for a moment and said, "And you'd better retreat as well; this mission seems extremely dangerous."

“We cannot retreat.” Shunping shook his head and said firmly, “The key is not the degree of danger, but the time limit. Only by immediately exorcising the cursed spirit can we solve this problem.”

Fushiguro Megumi took a deep breath and clenched her fist.

He looked at his friends beside him, who were watching him with concern, and his fists clenched and unclenched repeatedly.

This is his business; they shouldn't be put in danger.

But that person, Kujo Mashiro, had spoken to him that day.

Your friends are strong, and they will become even stronger. You don't want to trouble them, yet you find yourself in crisis. This is disrespecting them.

Fushiguro Megumi closed his eyes and suddenly bowed deeply to them.

"It's very difficult for me to do this alone." He kept his head down. "Can you help me?"

Tiger Cane gave him a light kick. "Leave it to us!"

“We’re friends, right?” Kugizaki crossed his arms. “Why are you being so polite?”

She looked at Shunping, "You agree, right?"

Shunping nodded and helped Fuhei Hui up.

“Yes.” He looked into Fushiguro Megumi’s eyes and said, “We can do it.”

Chapter 89: Similar Beginnings (Part Two)

In the dead of night, there was not a single light under the Eighty-Eight Bridge.

The moon was completely obscured by clouds, and if they weren't sorcerers, they really wouldn't be able to see anything here.

The four of them arrived at the foot of the Eighty-Eight Bridge.

"At night, under the bridge, there's a river in the canyon." Fu Hei walked in front, slowly stepping over the loose stones.

His voice wasn't loud, but it echoed in the empty space under the bridge at night.

The four people lined up and walked down the uneven stones.

Soon, the flashlight beam shone on the water's surface.

There was indeed a stream in front of us, not deep, but it was real.

As long as it exists, things are easy to talk about.

“The act of crossing a river or moving to the other side has great significance in sorcery.”

Fushiguro Megumi, a student at the Jujutsu High School, explained, "As long as you get past it under certain conditions."

Tiger Staff took the first step.

"Bah."

The moment my shoes touched the stream, the scene before me changed instantly; I was no longer under the Eighty-Eight Bridges.

The ground beneath my feet was grayish-white, and the sky and the ground were covered with disgusting spots, with holes of all sizes scattered between the spots, and a faint fishy stench in the air.

A chubby, four-eyed cursed spirit was peeking out from one of the holes and looking at them.

"As expected, it turned out like this." Fushiguro Megumi said, looking at the cursed spirit not far away.

"Ah, it's here." Itadori stretched his shoulders, his joints making a crisp cracking sound. "Thanks for the explanation."

Kugizaki grinned as he looked at the cursed spirit that poked half its head out of the hole like a groundhog.

She already had the hammer in her hand. "It seems worth the effort to exorcise it."

"What level is this cursed spirit?" Shunping squinted at the four-eyed cursed spirit. "Oh well, it's the first mission, good luck."

Just as they were about to begin the fight, the space behind them began to fluctuate again.

Something else has come in!

All four of them turned around at the same time.

A cursed spirit emerged from the crack.

It had two mouths, and blood was still seeping from its eyes and the corners of its mouth, dripping down its chin onto the ground.

Its body is neither human nor non-human, top-heavy and very large with very small limbs.

"Huh?" It reached out and scratched its head. "How come someone's already here?"

"Is this something else?" Kugisaki gripped the hammer handle tightly, his gaze rapidly shifting between the two cursed spirits.

“Ah, I’ll go deal with it. You guys focus on that side,” Huzhang said to them as he walked a few steps toward it.

"Would you like to play with me?" It opened both mouths into huge smiling faces.

"Of course, I can play with you all day long!" Incantara's fist surged with magical power, and blue light appeared on his fist.

He strode closer to the cursed spirit and swung his fists at it. The cursed spirit was startled by his speed and quickly created distance.

Tiger Rod wanted to continue forward, but he saw that the cursed spirit in front of him had its mouth tightly closed, as if it was gathering something.

It aimed at Tiger Stick, and a mouthful of blood suddenly gushed from its mouth.

Itachi leaped high, dodging the attack.

However, this seems to have been within the curse spirit's expectations.

It also jumped up, its target naturally being the tilapia, which it couldn't avoid in mid-air.

"caught you!"

Its right hand grabbed Tiger Staff's shoulder, and just as it let out a triumphant sound, Tiger Staff's other hand grabbed its wrist.

He curled up in mid-air and then pushed off with his legs.
