Warhammer: Empire Reboot

Behind them was the real main force: hundreds of thousands of Nurgle followers who still retained their basic human form, but whose skin was grayish-green and covered in pustules.
Yellow pus flowed from their eyes instead of tears as they chanted praises of their benevolent father and curses against the upper classes.
They were met with a wall of fire.
"Fire."
A cold command was issued simultaneously on 387 nodes.
No. 1 Nest City, the main sewage discharge channel in the eastern district.
This passage is 60 meters wide and 15 meters high, and is the largest passage at the bottom of the entire nest city.
Four hundred assassins formed a four-row-deep killing matrix here.
The first row consisted of heavy bulletproof shields locked into a wall. The dark muzzles of heavy bomb guns protruded from the gaps in the shields.
In the second row, two hundred laser rifles were raised simultaneously, their red dots on the optical sights appearing like a swarm of blood-red fireflies in the darkness.
The elevation angles of the forty single-barreled mortars in the third row have been calculated and locked using swarm intelligence.
Across the passage, the vanguard of 5.5 million Nurgle followers, more than 10,000 extremely mutated creatures, were howling as they charged forward.
Eight hundred meters away.
"First priority: mortar fire."
Forty high-explosive shells were fired simultaneously, tracing parabolic arcs at the top of the passage before landing precisely in the center of the densely populated mutant area.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The shockwave from the explosion created a terrifying cumulative effect within the enclosed passage.
Fragments of the high-explosive bomb bounced wildly off the adamantite wall, forming an impenetrable barrage.
The mutants in the front row were blown to pieces.
But the tide behind them continued to surge forward, stepping over the corpses of their companions, without even slowing its pace.
Four hundred meters away.
"Second sequence, laser salvo."
Two hundred high-energy laser beams were fired within the same millisecond.
Under the micro-allocation of swarm intelligence, every ten laser beams are precisely focused on the head of the same mutant.
The effect was devastating.
When ten laser beams hit a single target simultaneously, the heat cannot be dissipated within a fraction of a millisecond.
The mutant's head exploded from the inside, like an egg shoved into a microwave oven. Yellow brain matter and grayish-green bone fragments sprayed like rain onto the faces of its companions behind it.
But the tide that followed didn't even blink.
Driven by the plague's power, the headless body struggled forward seven or eight steps before collapsing, where it was trampled into a bloody pulp by its surging companions.
One hundred meters away.
Lawson could clearly sense within the swarm network that this was not an army charging forward. It was a mudslide, a catastrophe composed of rotting flesh and pus, governed by the principles of fluid dynamics.
The new generation pushes the old generation forward.
The dead mutants were trampled underfoot by the living mutants and used as a road surface.
The ground in the passage was rising at a rate of several centimeters per second, which was the height of the piled-up corpses.
The distance is fifty meters.
"Third sequence, heavy bomb gun, free fire."
Short bursts of fire spewed from the gaps in the shield.
The .75 caliber mass reaction explosive rounds demonstrated the most brutal killing effect on soft targets at extremely close range.
In less than a thousandth of a second from entering to the explosion, a Nurgle cultist's entire chest cavity was blasted open from the inside, creating a hole half a meter in diameter. Shattered ribs pierced the bodies of his companions like shrapnel.
A single explosive bomb can often cause a chain reaction of killings on three to four mutants.
But they kept surging forward.
That's what makes Nurgle so terrifying; they have no concept of death.
In their plague-ravaged brains, pain is a gift from the loving father, and death is a return to the loving father's garden.
The distance is 20 meters.
The assassins in the first row could smell the cloyingly sweet odor emanating from the mutant.
You can see the corrosive saliva they spew from their mouths forming viscous threads in the air.
You can hear the creaking sound of the bone spurs growing in their joints rubbing against each other.
The temperature inside the tunnel rose sharply due to the continuous firing of lasers and explosives.
The assassins remained silent.
The finger on the trigger was as steady as a machine piston.
The filthy black tide crashed against the emperor's steel dam.
The brutality of the static attrition war reached its peak in the first thirty minutes.
No. 1 Nest City, the main sewage discharge channel in the eastern district.
The corpses piled up faster than the suicide squad could clear them.
The “ground” in the passageway has been raised by nearly two meters and is entirely composed of the remains of Nurgle believers.
A viscous mixture of pus and strong acid formed a slippery film on the surface of the mountain of corpses, and even began to flow backwards to the base of the shield wall of the dead soldiers, corroding the adamantite floor.
The front-row assassins drew their chainsaw swords and mechanically swung them.
When the chain teeth rotate at high speed, they splash up grayish-green tissue fragments.
Chop down the mountain of corpses, level the firing line, and continue firing.
This cycle repeats every four minutes.
The blockade of the Class B lane absorbed most of the pressure.
In the 4891 tunnels that collapsed due to directional blasting, the mutants could only let out meaningless roars at the hundreds of tons of rubble.
But in the eastern section of Nest City No. 1, an unusual figure appeared in front of the collapsed passage.
That high-ranking plague sorcerer.
His mutation far surpassed that of ordinary believers; he was over 2.5 meters tall, his spine was curved into a hunchback, and his right hand held a scepter made of human bones and rotting internal organs.
He raised his scepter and whispered a prayer from the Lord of Plague.
Corrosive subspace energy surged from the tip of the scepter, seeping into the molecular gaps of the collapsed rock.
The reinforced concrete began to rust and crack at a rate visible to the naked eye.
Fifteen minutes later, the passage that had been sealed off by directional blasting was transformed into a hole with a diameter of two meters.
The second wave of the mutants' infiltration has begun.
"B-1172 node breached. Requesting intervention at the company commander level."
Swarm intelligence responds within one-thousandth of a second.
A thousand company commander-level suicide soldiers are the second layer of insurance for this war machine.
Their role: the ultimate fire brigade.
Node B-1172.
At the edge of the breached opening, rubble was still falling in a soft rustling sound.
The first mutant had already squeezed half of its body out. Its arm was scraped by sharp steel bars during the compression, but it was completely unaware of it. It spat out corrosive saliva and grabbed the rock at the edge of the cave entrance to climb upwards.
Two company commander-level suicide soldiers stepped out from the non-combat suicide soldier anchorage next to them.
The first assassin didn't even glance at the mutant.
He grabbed its neck with his left hand, his fingers sinking into the rotting muscle, and then twisted it sharply.
"Click".
With its cervical vertebrae fractured, the mutant's body went limp.
The second suicide soldier was already crouching beside the entrance, attaching two pieces of hot melt explosive to the load-bearing beam above the entrance.
"Detonate."
The entrance to the cave collapsed again.
This time, the amount of collapsed rocks was greater than the first time.
Because the Plague Warlock's corrosive psionic energy had weakened the surrounding structure, a chain reaction of collapses pulled down the ceiling of the entire area.
The passage was completely buried.
The two company commander-level suicide soldiers turned around and were enveloped again by the static force field.
Proceed to the next fire scene.
This kind of attack and defense was repeatedly played out in the B-level passage of Nest City No. 1.
The Plague Warlock corrupted a hole.
The company commander-level battle formation instantly killed the vanguard, and then collapsed and blocked the second line of defense.
The warlock moved to a different position and continued the corruption. The company commander-level battle formation was airdropped again.
Like playing whack-a-mole.
But the speed of whack-a-mole is always faster than the speed at which the mole peeks out.
The zero-delay scheduling of swarm intelligence ensures that every breakthrough is blocked before the mutants emerge.
Class A main road. No. 2 Nest City, K-09 water circulation hub node.
A wall of fire guarded by thirty ordinary soldiers.
The corpses had piled up to two-thirds the height of the shield.
