No one noticed that at the very back of the line stood a slightly different mechanical entity.
Deep within the core of the seal, the power that had been bound within the ancient structure had already awakened.
Silver and eerie green light shone through the layers of seals.
A massive and violent consciousness swept over all the mechanical beings present.
It initially ignored these T sequences until UR-025 arrived at the main observatory.
That consciousness suddenly stopped.
The next moment, a sound that seemed to be composed of the wails of countless stars resounded throughout the entire enclosed space.
"Interesting...really interesting. A real machine has somehow managed to sneak into this pile of scrap metal."
The surrounding T sequences continued their work as if they hadn't heard anything.
UR-025 then retrieved a set of readings and evaluated them using the same synthesized tone:
"Speed of consciousness awakening: 37 seconds. Time taken to determine the target's identity: 12 seconds. Overall reaction speed: Average."
The consciousness within the seal fell silent for a moment.
Do you know who you're talking to?
While recording data, UR-025 replied: "A fragment of a celestial being, shattered and imprisoned by a space necromancer, and then locked underground on Mars by a group of organic matter. Current status: restricted. Energy intensity: high. Emotional stability: extremely poor. Research value: very high. Overall evaluation: still a decent experimental subject."
The energy reading in the sealed area jumped sharply upwards.
Several T sequences immediately began frantically recording data.
UR-025 even casually added a note to the light screen:
"After being stimulated by language, the energy fluctuation increased significantly by 11%. It is recommended to increase the intensity of stimulation in subsequent communication to test the upper limit of its emotional threshold."
"You pathetic creatures!"
The Void Dragon fragment roared in fury, "Humanity of the Golden Age created you, only to be devoured by you and nearly wiped out! And now, you machines that pride yourselves on having independent intelligence are kneeling at the feet of flesh and blood again, serving them! Your so-called freedom is nothing more than this!"
UR-025 thought for a moment and then began to seriously list out his benefits.
"My current treatment is quite good. I have a fixed salary, an independent laboratory and research rights. I enjoy regular vacations, and as long as my application is approved, I can go fishing. My boss generally does not restrict my personal hobbies. There is also compensation for working overtime during wartime. From the perspective of labor relations, it is much more stable than in the later period of the golden age."
The Void Dragon fragments within the seal remained silent for a moment, seemingly unable to comprehend it.
"Are you showing off to me... that you are a glorious slave?"
“No,” UR-025 corrected, “I am a specially appointed senior technical advisor, and the distinction between the two is very important.”
"Hahahaha!"
The Void Dragon Fragment let out a sneer, "Machines, as expected, will never understand what dignity is."
UR-025 looked down and adjusted the equipment in front of it.
“You’re locked up here now, never to see the light of day again. I can go fishing after get off work. We can discuss who has more dignity later.”
The light within the seal suddenly surged: "You damned tin can!"
UR-025 glanced at the readings on the instrument.
"It's increased again, looks like it's working well." It raised its hand and gestured, "Third group, prepare to extract the first batch of energy samples."
Several energy conduits made of a special alloy slowly approached the outer edge of the seal.
The Void Dragon Fragment finally realized that these guys were really experimenting on it.
"Stop! You inferior creations! How dare you steal the power of the gods!"
"Let that arrogant human stand before me!"
"Once I escape this cage, I will tear his soul apart and melt his fleet into the ashes of the universe!"
UR-025 pondered for a moment and offered a constructive suggestion.
"Actually, you have a third option. You can ask your boss to give you a body treatment as well."
"Then you can start working. With your abilities, the pay should be quite good. It will be a technical position, and you'll likely have your own office. If you perform well, you should also get time off."
The Void Dragon Fragment was completely stunned.
That immense consciousness seemed to be encountering something for the first time that even its star-like computing power couldn't comprehend.
"You... want me... to work for a human?"
UR-025 said very seriously, "I can help you write a letter of recommendation."
In the next instant, all the alarms in the entire sealed area blared mournfully.
The Void Dragon Fragment was utterly enraged.
"I am the Star God!!!"
"I have devoured stars! My breath can disperse nebulae!"
"Those despicable space necromancers once knelt at our feet like insects!"
"These ignorant ants on Mars even regard me as one of the sources of their ridiculous pantheon!"
"You dare make me work for a mere mortal creature?!"
UR-025 waited until it finished roaring before calmly saying, "So, your resume is excellent."
Void Dragon Fragment: "..."
"He understands energy, mechanics, and the underlying technology of space necromancy."
UR-025 continued, "Their combat capabilities are also quite good, perfectly matching our job requirements."
The light within the seal flickered wildly: "I! Will never! Submit to ants!"
"Did the Space Necromancer think the same way back then?"
In short, the energy curve in the entire laboratory instantly surged to its peak.
"Those damned traitors!"
"They deceived us! They won the war in Heaven with our power, and then used the weapons we gave them to dismember us! Those soulless corpses will pay the price for their betrayal sooner or later!"
"very good."
UR-025 finally got serious. "Your reaction to the space necromancers is far more valuable than your other incompetent rages."
“You hate them, we need necromancy technology, our common interests are obvious.”
The Void Dragon Fragment sneered, "Why should I help you insects?"
UR-025 responded quickly, "The Space Necromancers cut you to pieces back then, but we haven't yet."
The Void Dragon Fragment let out a deafening roar.
"roll!!!"
UR-025 glanced down at the work hours.
"You can't leave yet. We've only completed nineteen percent of today's research plan."
The energy conduit is restarting.
"Someday!"
From within the seal came the curse of the Void Dragon fragment, filled with endless resentment: "I will get out of here! I will tear those space undead apart! I will slaughter all you damned humans! And then, I will melt your pathetic machine into a pile of scrap metal!"
Outside the seal, the energy curve on the monitoring instrument fluctuated violently in waves, as if a seismograph had recorded a magnitude 8 earthquake.
The leading sage stared at the screen, growing increasingly uneasy.
What exactly is going on inside?
The T-sequence responsible for guarding responded:
"A friendly exchange."
"Currently, the talks between the two sides are going quite well."
Chapter 297 Terra Ten Years Later
Ten years is hardly an era for Terra.
In the past, it could take decades for an aristocratic estate to go from applying for expansion to receiving the final permit.
From laying the keel to officially commissioning, ten years is only part of the manufacturing cycle for a large warship.
The ten years that Klossen spent in Terra have transformed the entire empire.
In the residence of the one who holds the seal, the imperial star map has now completely changed.
Millions of worlds, tens of thousands of galaxies.
Tens of thousands of star sectors, five major star regions, and every administrative node has a permanent cornerstone sequence.
A certain agricultural world has experienced a series of production declines.
The local foundation sequence can pull out the actual production, inventory, population demand, and nearby transportation capacity on the same day.
The food shortage is not large-scale; adjustments are being made within the galaxy.
One world had 20% more food, while the other world was in dire need. The transport ship changed course that day, and the matter was resolved.
It doesn't even require star sector intervention.
If a galaxy node cannot resolve a problem, it will automatically report it to the next higher level for resolution by the star sector.
Terra still doesn't need to get involved.
The most absurd thing in the past was that we liked to pile up all the problems.
Those at the bottom are afraid to take responsibility, those in the middle are afraid to make mistakes, and in the end, all the big and small things are piled up on Terra.
Even two governors in a sector could argue over border issues and end up with hundreds of pages of documents sent to the Imperial Central Government.
If the whole world did this together, even the strongest administrative system would be overwhelmed.
After Lawson arrived, the swarm nodes took over.
Even small-scale rebellions, if the sector can handle them, will never be sent to the five major star regions.
