Warhammer: Empire Reboot

To destroy the two Warhound Titans, the Bear Guard Shield Wall was plowed open by the Volcanic Cannon, and rows of five-ton bodies were blown away. As long as those monsters, weighing hundreds of tons, could still move, the infantry lines would forever be like standing in front of a millstone.
We can't keep using people to fight Titans.
Even if his people can make up for it.
That's not how you should use it either.
Lawson opened his eyes.
"Send orders to the T-series. The next priority is to repair the thirty Knight mechs and that Warhound Titan."
"Understood, Boss."
Instead of stepping down, T-007 raised its hand and projected a massive diagram of the Titan's internal structure next to the star map.
"Regarding the repair of heavy mechs, the T-series data core, combined with swarm computing power, completed an in-depth reverse engineering simulation. We proposed a radical modification plan."
Lawson leaned back in his chair.
"explain."
T-007 points to the seat inside the chest cavity of the warhound Titan, which is filled with nerve cannulas.
"In the traditions and doctrines of the Empire and the Mechanicus, whether it is a ten-meter-class knight mech or a thirty-meter-class warhound titan, the core is the throne mech."
"The driver must have a special noble bloodline, receive mental training from childhood, and connect with the so-called machine soul through a brain-computer interface."
"This single- or two-person driving mode has serious physical defects. When the human brain processes fire control, dynamic balance, void shield angle, weapon charging and terrain feedback simultaneously, it produces a minimum neural delay of 1.5 seconds."
T-007 enlarges a set of operational models of the Imperial two-person piloted warhound Titan.
"Even the best Titan crews cannot achieve perfect synchronization between the pilot and the weapons officer. The pilot might want to dodge to the left, but the weapons officer might still be locked onto a target on the right. As the delay accumulates, the Titan's movements become stiff, like a sluggish old man wearing sacred armor."
A faint electrical hum emanated from the skull grating of a local technical priest nearby.
It looks like they want to protest.
T-001 turned his head and glanced at him from the side.
The technical priest immediately turned off the sound module.
Lawson raised his chin.
"so?"
"Therefore, the T series recommends completely abolishing the Throne Mechanism and removing the neural cannula and the Mech Soul appeasement module."
T-007 spoke in a calm tone.
"It adopts a purely physical mechanical control panel. The control program is taken over by swarm intelligence."
"In terms of personnel, the Knight mech was originally piloted by a single person, but we have expanded the cockpit to accommodate three Cornerstone Sequence operators. The Warhound-class Titan will be piloted by five operators."
Inside the command center, several local technical priests' breathing pumps simultaneously missed a beat.
To the Mechanics, this was no longer considered blasphemy.
This is like taking a blasphemy apart, reassembling it into a larger blasphemy, and then painting it with a double-headed eagle.
Lawson laughed.
"Five people are crammed into the cockpit. A slight bump could kill two of them."
"The Imperial Army will."
The electronic eyes of the T-007 are frighteningly bright.
"We won't."
It extended its servo arm, projecting the control roles of the five assassins onto the Titan cockpit model.
"They have five bodies, but share the same swarm brain."
"BOSS, you can think of it as a person suddenly growing ten hands and ten eyes."
"Operator number one is responsible for hydraulic balance of both legs and avoiding footsteps."
"Operator number two is responsible for charging and aiming the left arm turbo laser destroyer."
"Operator number three, responsible for the fire support of the plasma cannon on the right arm."
"Operator number four is responsible for the real-time angle deflection of the Void Shield."
"Operator No. 5 is responsible for the overload distribution of the power core."
The model started moving.
The warhound Titan slides to the left in the hologram.
0.01 seconds before it glides, the Void Shield has already converged to the left.
The moment the slide ended, the left arm laser cannon pierced through a previously non-existent firing gap, penetrating the enemy knight's shoulder power compartment.
The right-arm plasma cannon then fired a follow-up shot, turning the explosion into a sea of fire.
Its movements were so fluid that it didn't resemble a 30-meter-tall giant war machine.
It's more like a steel hound that has finally broken free of its reins.
"Based on the calculations performed by the swarm computing power."
T-007 retracts its servo arm.
"After modification, the Titan and Knight's melee reaction speed, firepower switching frequency, and overload resistance will be improved by at least 300% compared to the Imperial Elite Mechs of the same model."
Among the local technical priests, someone couldn't help but whisper half of the Om Messiah prayer.
Lawson was quite satisfied.
"I agree to the modification plan."
He looked at the five-person cockpit model in the holographic projection.
"Before those madmen from Chaos descend on a large scale, I want to see all thirty-one mechs leave the dock."
"As ordered."
As T-007 was preparing to withdraw, it uploaded another draft of a tactical exercise.
"Also, BOSS. This is a battlefield application simulation of the T series combined with the soon-to-be-released modified mechs and the heavy armored bear guards."
Lawson glanced at it twice.
In Imperial standard tactics, Knight Titans are typically used as isolated heavy firepower platforms, providing support from the rear. They are too large and cumbersome; if enemy infantry manage to get close enough to their feet, a molten bomb can blow their knees to the point of injury, and even the most revered noble lord will have to kneel.
But what if we sent six thousand bear guards, each 4.2 meters tall and wielding a 38-centimeter-thick heavy tower shield, to serve as accompanying infantry for the knights and titans?
In the simulation, Xiong Wei's massive body resembled a row of mobile fortresses, perfectly concealing the Knight Mech's most vulnerable knee joints and drive shafts.
The demon engine attempted to rush in.
Dozens of bear guards charged straight at it with their shields, the anti-gravity modules roaring as their five-ton bodies rammed the demon engine's charge line out of control. The next second, the power hammer slammed down, smashing the thing's leg joints into a flaming pile of scrap metal.
The knight mechs stood behind the Bear Guard Shield Wall, relentlessly unleashing a barrage of fire from volcanic cannons, molten spears, and chainsaw swords.
Heavy infantry plus super-heavy mechs.
This is not the kind of cooperation found in the Imperial Code.
This is like attaching legs to the city wall and then stuffing a row of mobile volcano cannons behind it.
Lawson signed the draft after only reading the first round of simulations.
"Practice this way."
"Have Er Gou keep an eye on Xiong Wei's side."
T-007 paused.
"During the last training session for Xiong Wei, Er Gou disliked the shooting range's protective wall for being too low, so he demolished it and transformed it into a wall that 'looks more like a fighting wall.' This action caused 27 local engineering priests to experience a spiritual breakdown."
Lawson tossed the brass gear up again.
"That means the wall doesn't seem like it can fight."
Record T-007.
"Understood. Improve the offensive capabilities of the firing range walls."
Three days later.
Agrippina Main Star, Deep Armament Reception Container No. 3.
The moment the static force field dissipated, thousands of huge metal crates slammed heavily onto the cabin floor, raising clouds of dust and the smell of rust.
This is a power armor sent by Dante, the Dark Regent.
Lawson stood at the door of the docking bay, looking at the mountain of crates.
Several T-series mech assassins stepped forward and used plasma welding torches to cut open the seals. The lids popped open, revealing power armor suits riddled with bullet holes, cracks, scorch marks, and dried blood.
According to Dante's communications, this shipment consisted of over three thousand pieces of wreckage recovered from various battlefields and deemed "unrepairable" or "completely destroyed" by the Mechanicus.
Lawson glanced at it.
"Begin assessing the extent of the damage."
Dozens of T-series assassins probed out micron-sized scanning needles and inserted them into the reactor, servo muscle bundles, and neural interfaces.
Ten minutes later, T-001 turned around.
"BOSS, test complete."
"The batch of powered armor consists of 3,427 units. The outer shell shows extensive signs of battle damage, but the core micro fusion reactor, servo muscle bundles, and neural interface remain more than 80% intact."
"According to the Imperial Mechanical Repair Society's scrapping standards, this is not considered wreckage. It is considered minor damage."
T-001 continued to deliver the finishing blow:
"A small amount of refined steel is used to fill the external armor, without the need to use living metal. Within forty-eight hours, it can be fully restored to factory-grade combat condition."
Lawson walked up to the box and reached out to touch the hole in the chest of a power armor suit.
The edges of the opening have been treated.
The bloodstains were cleaned up very thoroughly, all core circuits were avoided, and the reactor casing was even given an extra layer of shockproof protection.
This is not waste.
