The brass chain broke.
The flesh and roots broke off.
Millions of heads opened their eyes simultaneously, letting out a final scream at Lawson.
That sound was a blood-red battle cry, a result of a million decapitations, a million sacrifices, and a million souls crushed under the will of Khorne.
The moment the screams exploded, reality felt like it had been cleaved by an invisible giant axe.
The twelve black hole projections behind Lawson trembled simultaneously, and the Imperial Golden Flame also briefly contracted by an inch.
Taking advantage of this moment, the Skull Mountain Walker smashed the Blood Sacrifice Tower forward.
boom!
The tower, composed of millions of heads, collapsed in mid-air, resembling a burning mountain of skulls, lying between Lawson and the Great Demon.
Lawson cleaved the torrent of heads at the very front with a single axe stroke.
The golden flames on the Angron Battle Axe burned forward along the crack, turning thousands of heads to ashes in the golden flames.
But the Blood Sacrifice Tower is too big.
It was only to block Lawson for a moment.
This moment is enough.
Eight massive brass chains emerged from the depths of the rift, binding the Skull Mountain Walker's shoulders, abdomen, and severed arm wounds, dragging him deeper into the warp.
Half of the Skull Mountain Walker's body had been scorched through by golden fire, its left arm severed at the elbow, and only half of the Blood Sacrifice Tower on its back remained. It still turned back to look at Lawson once more.
There was still a hint of humiliation in his eyes, as if he had been forced to retreat.
As Lawson cleaved through the last piece of the skull fragment, the Skull Mountain Walker's massive body had already been dragged into the depths of the crevice.
Only the broken brass giant arm remained, crashing onto Agrippina's metal wasteland, collapsing half of the trench.
Lawson gripped the Angron Battle Axe, standing amidst the burning ashes of the skull, gazing into the depths of the crimson rift.
"They run pretty fast."
There was no response from the other side of the crack.
The terrifying sea of blood did indeed pause for a moment.
It's so short that ordinary people in the real universe can't even perceive it.
But deep within the warp, in the Blood God's domain where the Brass Throne resided, this instant was like a knife mark, slicing through the boiling river of blood.
The flow of the Blood River has slowed down.
On the Brass Wasteland, the once endless surging demon army has experienced a break in its flow.
A brief blank space appeared amidst the mountains of skulls surrounding the Skull Throne.
For mortals, that empty space is enough to house an entire city.
To the Blood God, it was as small as a notch on an axe blade.
But a gap is a gap.
Khorne sat on the brass throne, his fingers pressing down on the armrests.
The armrest, forged from the skulls of countless champions, now crackled softly beneath His palm.
The score for Agrippina's battle is now before the Blood God.
Ordinary vampires who enter the rift never return.
The flesh-and-blood hound plunged into the crevice, never to return.
Skull cannons, brass chariots, bloodthirsty madmen—all the demons slain by Lawson seemed to have their origins dragged out of the warp by some kind of claw, never to return to the Blood God's army.
That's real wear and tear.
Keep filling it in, and Agrippina will keep eating.
The Blood God would certainly not admit that he was weighing the pros and cons.
Khorne hates the word "calculation".
But even killing has a direction.
When a war makes the enemy stronger with each battle, it is no longer a feast for the god of blood, but rather adding bricks to the enemy's throne.
Even more jarring news came from the edge of the blood-red wasteland.
Tzeentch's Crystal Labyrinth is spreading toward the borders of Khorne's territory.
One after another, blue-purple crystal pillars rose from the ground beside the Blood River, their surfaces reflecting countless mocking bird faces. These pillars did not directly attack, but instead left fine cracks in the brass-colored earth, as if measuring the boundaries briefly left open by the Blood God.
On the other side, rotten roots also emerged from the Plague Garden of the Grudge.
Thick vines burrowed into the brass floor, feeding on the lingering blood of the defeated demons. Pustule flowers bloomed one by one, their petals adorned with a benevolent, smiling face, as if gently mocking the Blood God's wasteful act today.
Further away, from the edge of Slaanesh's territory, came the sound of a harp.
The voice was light and smooth, carrying an inappropriate sense of pleasure.
Several Slaanesh demons even danced on the banks of the River of Blood, stringing together skulls crushed by the Khorne army as decorations, and raising their goblets in salute towards the brass throne.
Khorne's anger finally subsided.
The river of blood surged backward.
Countless heads exploded into dust around the throne.
On the Brass Wasteland, hordes of demons knelt on the ground, their axe blades pressed against the earth, too afraid to raise their heads.
A bloodthirsty berserker had just retreated from the direction of Agrippina, its golden flames not yet completely extinguished. Dragging its tattered wings, it knelt beside the river of blood, wanting to beg for forgiveness.
Khorne's gaze fell upon him.
Before the bloodthirsty demon could even let out a wail, it was crushed into a pool of blood mist, its skull flying off and landing at the feet of the throne.
Blood God needs no explanation.
He will not admit to backing down.
He simply turned his axe on his brothers and sisters who were taking advantage of the chaos behind him.
Tzeentch's crystal pillar needs to be smashed.
The filthy vines need to be cut down.
That damned music of Slaanesh needs to be drowned in a river of blood.
Agrippina is still burning.
Lawson is still there.
This feud is not over yet.
However, if more high-ranking demons are fed into that meat grinder, the Blood God's bronze territory will be devoured by the other three gods.
Anger can be endless.
But their territory will be taken away.
On the bronze throne, Khorne slowly raised his hand.
At the other end of the crimson crack, the wound that traversed Agrippina's northern hemisphere began to contract.
Blood God will never fail.
The Blood God's axe was temporarily aimed elsewhere.
On Agrippina's primary star, a thousand-kilometer-long rift began to close inward.
The first to notice were the demons who were engaged in battle.
The vampire turned around.
The fleshhound growled.
The skull cannon was turned around.
The will to retreat came from behind the crack.
A large number of demons began to surge back towards the rift.
Lawson's eyes lit up as he watched this scene.
"Want to go?"
He raised his hand, and the 1081 golden flame shadow wheels unfolded again.
Previously, the Shadow Wheel was mainly used to prevent demons from advancing too far and to avoid them breaking through the defenses.
Things are different now.
Now we need to prevent them from running back.
"Macro cannon sequence, wash the edge of the crack."
"Seal the shadow wheel."
"Xiong Wei continues to advance."
"White Tiger, Red Dragon, Black Tortoise, Luan Bird, Taotie, all harvested."
"Non-combat suicide soldiers, bring back all the turrets that are still operational."
"Keep as many of these bastards as possible."
Swarm intelligence can instantly change the battlefield dynamics.
The defensive battle has been switched to a hunting battle.
The orbital macro cannons began a barrage of fire on the area surrounding the rift. Shells slammed into the densely packed demon-infested zone, each explosion clearing hundreds of meters of the battlefield.
When demons try to break into reality, they are met with a defensive line.
When the demon tried to escape back into the warp, it discovered that the rift in front of it had become a slaughterhouse.
Lawson hovered high in the air, the Angron Battle Axe in his hand still dripping with golden fire.
On his system interface, the subspace energy value soared.
