Little did they know how much power Lawson had grown during this time!

A month later, in the strategic command center of Agrippina, Lawson received Dante's plea for help.

"Dante, the Regent in the Dark, greets the Lord Seal."

"The situation on the Vigilant Star has exceeded the original projections."

"The Chaos Legion is larger than the Blood Angels estimated."

"Lord Dante must currently lead his fleet to support other battlefields and will be unable to reach the Vigilant Star in the short term."

"He requested that, if the forces in the Agrippina Sector are available, please be sure to send reinforcements to the Vigilant Star."

"Lord Dante's exact words: Vigilant Star is too important to the Empire. If it falls, the Nakmonde Corridor will suffer a devastating blow, and the only lifeline between the Empire's Holy Side and Dark Side will be strangled by Chaos."

In the command center, the star map slowly rotated.

The 318 planets of the Agrippina Sector are laid out as stable blue nodes.

Further away, the Nachmond Corridor resembles a narrow wound, cutting through the surging red and black storm of the great rift.

The warning star is pinned to the critical spot of this wound.

Lawson stood in front of the star map and gently tapped the metal surface with his fingertips.

Dante spoke very politely; it was a request.

The regent in the shadows certainly had the authority to issue orders to the imperial armies. But Dante knew very well that Lawson was not a local warlord who could be ordered around.

Give ample respect and explain the reasons clearly.

This is very much in line with Dante's character.

Andrei stood to the side and asked in a low voice, "Boss, should we respond?"

Lawson looked at the coordinates of the warning star and smiled.

Tell Dante that I will go.

The assassins relayed the message back to Dante's war zone via a swarm network.

The command room fell silent again.

Lawson raised his hand, zooming in on the Nakmonde corridor.

In the star map, the Great Rift resembles a scar tearing open the Milky Way, separating the Holy Side of the Empire from its Dark Side. Countless star systems were swallowed by the dark red warp storms, shipping lanes were broken, star language fell silent, and fleets were lost.

The Nakmonde Corridor is one of the very few passages in this disaster area that can still maintain stability.

It is the lifeline of the empire.

The Holy Surface can use this place to send reinforcements, fleets, supplies, orders, and hope to the Dark Surface.

The Dark Side can also use this place to send requests for aid, battle reports, resources, and the remaining human order to the Holy Side.

But this corridor was important not only to the empire.

It is equally important for chaos.

The Chaos Fleet is indeed more familiar with warp space than the Imperial Fleet.

Familiarity does not equate to invincibility.

The Great Rift is not a smooth waterway for anyone.

Subspace storms are indiscriminate.

A small-scale Chaos Warband can traverse certain dangerous areas with the protection of an evil god and incredible luck.

However, for a large expeditionary fleet, the challenge of maintaining its formation, supply, command chain, and combat effectiveness while crossing a rift tens of thousands of light-years away remains terrifyingly high.

The storm will tear the ship apart.

The opposing evil god forces will attack during the voyage.

Time will be out of order, and coordinates will be off.

The fleet may have set out as a legion, but arrived with only a few mad ships remaining.

The Nakmonde Corridor is a tranquil passageway forcibly opened up by the real universe during a warp storm.

The empire needs it.

Chaos also needs it.

Whoever controls the warning star can plant a nail in this passage.

Dante wanted to protect Vigilant Star in order to preserve the Empire's lifeline, allowing the Imperial Army to still rescue the Dark Side and preventing the Dark Side's human world from being completely abandoned.

This is the responsibility of the regent in the shadows.

Lawson's goal, however, went a step further.

He needs a vigilant star.

The Agrippina sector was already his foundation.

The Nachmond Corridor will be the gateway through which he will reach out to the Holy Face of the Empire in the future.

Once Lawson takes over Vigilant Star, it will be tantamount to pushing most of the chaotic forces on the Empire's dark side back into the shadows.

They wanted to escape to the Holy Face, to use the passage to mobilize troops, and to spread the war from the Dark Side to the other side, but all they could do was pass through Lawson's blade.

By then, it will be very difficult for Chaos to safely transfer the population, resources, fleets, and sacrifices it has seized from the shadows of the Empire through the Nakmonde Corridor.

They will be trapped in the dark.

Trapped in Lawson's future hunting grounds.

The swarm intelligence immediately retrieved the latent data.

In a place like Vigilant Star, how could Lawson not reach out beforehand?

The Nakmonde Corridor is a crucial node, a strategic choke point repeatedly contested by the Empire and Chaos, and a battlefield that could significantly influence the darker future of the entire Empire.

Moreover, this is an epic melee.

Chaos Legion, Imperial Guard, Heretics, Traitors, Demons, Fleets, Orbital Cannons, Fortress Complexes, Flesh Millstones.

Even if Dante doesn't ask, he will still go.

It's just that now there's an additional layer of prestige.

The Dark Regent requests Agrippina to take the seal and rush to the aid of the Vigilant Star.

This is a good name.

“The status of the hidden nodes,” Lawson said.

The swarm intelligence mechanism quickly reports back.

The cornerstone sequence has already infiltrated the cargo port, underground refuge area, ammunition transfer station, body disposal team, and some outer defense line maintenance teams around the vigilant star.

Lawson looked at the troop strength panel of the main planet Agrippina.

Sixty thousand Xiong guards.

A standard combat force of 150,000.

800 Flying Bear Heavy Motorcycle.

The Avenger heavy cruiser.

Huron's 10km flagship is undergoing repairs and reorganization.

The Battle Moon is not yet fully modified and is not suitable for use in expeditions.

But it is enough.

Vigilant Star doesn't need him to bet his entire fortune.

He needed to first determine exactly how many Chaos Legions were gathered there, who was in command, who was just there to get a share, who controlled the warp portal, and who was trying to seize orbital control.

"Put the White Tiger, Red Dragon, and Black Tortoise on first-level combat readiness."

"The Flying Bears have completed their long-distance delivery check."

"The first and second formations of the Xiong Guard are ready to go."

"The Luan Bird Squadron has withdrawn a portion of its deep-space reconnaissance mission to head to the outer perimeter of the Vigilant Planet."

“Bi’an organizes the imperial legal documents and archives Dante’s request for help.”

Andrei was slightly taken aback, then understood.

"Legality is required."

"of course."

"Losen said calmly."

"I went to the Vigilant Star in response to the request of the Dark Regent to reinforce the Empire's lifeline."

"As for who will ultimately be in charge of the warning star, that's a matter of post-war order reconstruction."

Andrei chuckled softly, looking down at himself.

"clear."

………………

Warning Star, outer ring of the water storage nest.

The Seventh Hill no longer resembles a hill.

It looks more like a piece of black bone gnawed by animal teeth, crookedly stuck in the middle of the three main roads.

Originally, it was a section of the outer wall of the reservoir, less than a hundred meters long. It was neither dangerous nor majestic, but behind it was a purification tower, a circulating pump set, and the last remaining source of water in the entire war zone.

In a godforsaken place like Vigilant Star, water is more precious than gold, more precious than ammunition, and more precious than human life.

If you run out of ammunition, you can still scavenge from the dead.

If the armor is broken, it can be repaired with scrap metal.

If there are too many corpses, just drag them away and burn them.

But once the water supply was cut off, the wounded rotted first, the artillery came to a standstill, riots broke out in the refuge floors, and the plague pounced on every ventilation duct like wild dogs.
