Warhammer: Empire Reboot

Some rescue ships had just left the track when screams came through communications before disappearing into the gaps in the net.
The Mechanical Order and the State Church blamed each other for this.
The nobles demanded that the evacuation routes for the upper class be prioritized for protection.
The Astral Army demanded the sealing of all possible network exits.
Parliament debated for six hours, but only passed a declaration condemning the alien raids.
When Lawson saw the title of the declaration, he almost burst out laughing.
Condemn the Dark Eldar.
For Comoros, this might be less meaningful than a glass of inferior red wine.
Following that is the East Tolia nest city group.
The Geller plague broke out there.
East Tolia is one of the most densely populated areas on Vigilant Planet, consisting of underground steel structures, factories, residential areas, and transportation layers stacked up over countless generations.
The area was already in chaos after the Greenskin invasion, the Genestealer uprising, and the Dark Eldar raids.
Soon after, an unknown spaceship crashed directly into the Newport area of East Tolia.
After the crashed ship broke apart, those who emerged from the cargo hold were not survivors, but a group of infected people carrying the disease.
Geller's Plague.
Following closely behind was the Chaos Space Marine of Nurgle, the Deathguard.
Lawson looked at the pollution map of East Tolia.
Green plague patches spread throughout the nest-city hierarchy.
Subsequently, the Death Guard emerged from deep within the crashed hull and contaminated area.
This caused the situation in East Tolia to deteriorate rapidly.
It's a miracle that this planet has survived this long.
Finally, Chapter Commander Mannus Calgar of the Ultramarines arrived.
Calga's arrival on Vigilant Star was not accidental.
On his way to other war zones, he learned from psionic visions and Primarch commands that Vigilant Planet must not fall.
If the Vigilant Star falls, the Narcmond Pass will be severed by the enemy. The already fragile connection between the Imperial Holy Side and the Dark Side will be further broken.
After Calgary arrived, the situation finally stabilized temporarily.
The arrival of the Ultramarines brought a sense of order to Vigilant Planet.
Unlike the Iron Hand, who only target mechanical orders and tactical objectives, or the Space Wolves, who are better suited for localized hunting.
Calgar was a commander and one of the most famous sons of the Imperial Regent Guilliman.
He can understand the strategic value of the entire planet.
He began to try to rebuild the wartime command system of the Vigilant Star.
On Lawson's retina, a final map of the current situation in the parliamentary center unfolds.
Hyperia Nest City Group.
Deep in Saint Harbor.
Parliament Palace.
Calgar was there, attempting to negotiate with the Agammenus family, the Mechanicus, the State Church, the Astral Army, the PDF Remnants, local nobles, and representatives of various Imperial departments.
The goal is clear.
Rebuild unified command.
Lawson finally laughed.
"Discussing the reconstruction of order and the reorganization of the new wartime command system for the Vigilant Planet with these insectoids... Calga must be having a real headache, right?"
…………
Deep within Saint Harbor, the Aquilalia Parliament Palace still maintains the dignity of the old empire.
The dome is so high that you can't see the end, and the stained glass windows are engraved with images of emperors holding flaming swords.
Twelve obsidian pillars support the central council hall, each inlaid with a relief of the governors of the Vigilant Star throughout history.
But now, the sound of cannons can be heard coming from outside the palace.
One-third of the stained glass is broken.
A long crack appeared on the right side of the emperor's body, and cold wind rushed into the hall through the crack, causing the noble banners to flutter.
Inside the council chamber was a huge round table with a double-headed eagle.
A representative of the Agammenus family sat on the east side of the round table.
Serena Agamemnos, the sister of the current governor, is also the family's spokesperson in parliament.
She wore a black and gold robe, with a short cloak made from a family guard officer's cape draped over her shoulders.
Behind her stood two family guards wielding halberds, their breastplates bearing the emblem of Agamemnus's water tower.
On the west side are the representatives of the Mechanical Repair Society.
The leading technical priest, the sage Omniklas, was dispatched to the Watchtower of the World Underworld 8.
Most of his body was cybernetically enhanced, with a data cable hanging from the back of his head and four mechanical arms suspended at his sides. Whenever someone uttered something he considered foolish, a short, binary noise would sound from his chest.
On the south side is the representative of the state religion.
Archbishop Elisius of Port Sainte.
He wore a red and white robe, his chest adorned with reliquary shells and marks of purity. His face was well-preserved, yet his eyes held a profound weariness. He was no fool who merely recited prayers. Having managed the affairs of the state church for decades in a place like Vigilant Star, he understood people's hearts and the power of authority.
To the north are the Star Guardians and the remnants of the PDF.
General Valen, the interim commander of the Astronautical Army, sat in a wheelchair with one leg amputated and his right eye replaced with a rudimentary prosthetic.
Dravin, the chief of staff of Vigilant Star PDF, stood behind him.
There were also local nobles, the Transportation Department, the Corpse Workers' Union, the Water Cleansing Hub Authority, the Refugee Resettlement Department, the Court of Justice, and dozens of representatives carrying seals, amulets, data boards, and private soldiers.
They argued for three hours.
Calgary stood on the high platform above the round table.
The Ultramarines, clad in Terminator armor, possessed a massive body that resembled a blue fortress pressing down on the council hall.
Varo Tigurius stood to his left.
The chief think tank member had one eye closed, but a faint glimmer of light shone in the other.
Haldo Frosty stood on the right, the Space Wolves' battle leader's patience nearly worn thin.
He had just fought his way out of the underground waterways of the Alterac Nest City and arrived at the council with the blood of the Genestealer still fresh on his chainsaw axe.
Cardin Stronus sat at the edge of the round table.
The war leader with the steel hand is like a war machine suppressing its rage.
Calgary has already provided a solution.
All shield nodes are connected to a unified wartime command.
The military forces of each major city have been reorganized.
The Astral Army coordinates the outer battlefront.
Parliament relinquished supreme command during the war, and a temporary joint command was established in Calgary.
This plan is not mild, but it is feasible.
It is precisely because it is feasible that many people cannot sit still.
Serena Agammenus was the first to speak.
"Your Excellency Chapter Master, the Agammenus family will not question the Ultramarines' loyalty to the Empire. But the rule of the Vigilant Star comes from the seal of Terra, from Imperial law, and from thousands of years of legitimate inheritance. Your request for the Council to relinquish supreme command is tantamount to stripping the planetary governor of his legitimacy."
"Wartime command can be cooperative, but we cannot allow the Vigilant Star to become a temporary territory for foreign troops. If this precedent is set, how will postwar order be restored? Will the nobles of the various hive cities still recognize the Governor's Office's orders? Who will be responsible for local taxes, worker conscription, clean water rationing, and refugee zone registration?"
In a hive city industrial world with a population of over 160 billion, if the governor's family were to relinquish supreme power in public, all the nobles would subsequently suspect that the Agammenus family had lost its right to rule.
She was doing so in the name of protecting the family's ability to maintain the balance of the planet.
But now, reputation alone cannot save the front lines.
General Valen said coldly, “Sir, the third line of defense in East Toria lost a 42-minute window yesterday due to the Governor’s order to delay. In those 42 minutes, the Death Guard advanced six blocks.”
Serena looked at him.
"That order was suppressed by the Transport Department, not the Governor's Office."
The Transport Department representative immediately stood up.
"The coordinates submitted by the general are incorrect! He ordered us to deliver the ammunition to a warehouse that has been contaminated by the Geller plague. If the convoy had gone as planned, at least three thousand workers would now be infected."
General Warren patted the armrest of his wheelchair.
"The coordinate error comes from the old map you gave me!"
The Transport Department representative blushed.
"The old maps are maintained by the Mechanics Guild!"
All eyes turned to Omniklas.
A piercing binary noise emanated from the tech sage's chest, followed by a low, synthesized voice saying:
"The map version used by the Transport Department is from 327 years ago. The Hongbei District submitted an update application 194 years ago. The Noble Council refuses to pay for data synchronization."
Serena's eye twitched.
"Because you raised the synchronization fee to six times the original price."
Omniklas replied, "Data prayers need to be increased during shield maintenance. The cost is reasonable."
Haldo Shuangpi finally couldn't help but curse.
