Warhammer: Empire Reboot

Their opposition stemmed from selfishness, fear, and a lust for power.
But they just spoke next to the poor prince, adding fuel to the fire of delays in the same direction.
This completely robbed them of any confidence to defend themselves.
Calga stared at the alien corpses scattered on the ground, his eyes filled with a chilling intensity. This was the truth behind the council's delays.
Not all of it is decay.
The highest governing body of Vigilant Star has been ripped open by the Genestealer Cult.
Tigurius walked over to Calga and lowered his voice.
“I felt something was wrong just now. I suspect they are gene stealers.”
Calga turned and glared at him: "Why didn't you say so earlier?"
Tigurius looked innocent.
"Before we even had a chance, the Master of the Seal arrived."
The parliament hall was littered with corpses.
The gene-stealing hybrids, sliced open by the shadow wheel, lay scattered around the round table.
Those nobles, councilors, scribes, and local representatives who were just arguing loudly were now either pinned to the ground by the guards or frozen in place, not daring to move.
They looked at the alien corpses, their faces even more grim than those of the dead.
Fear comes from two directions.
On one hand, the Poor Prince Cult has infiltrated the highest ruling body of Vigilant Star.
On the other side, Lawson had just wiped out all these hybrids who had been hiding for generations, perfectly disguised themselves, and even fooled many scrutiny processes in less than a second.
This tactic is so direct that they don't even have a chance to defend themselves.
Lawson's shadow wheel re-hovered behind him.
They are like a ring of judgment hanging on the edge of reality, ready to fall again at the slightest thought of Lawson.
Lawson clapped his hands lightly.
The crisp sound echoed in the hall.
The members of parliament kneeling on the ground trembled.
Let me reintroduce myself.
“I am Lawson, the Marker of the Dark Side.”
"Entrusted by Lord Dante, the Dark Regent, to take over the Watch Star."
He paused, his gaze sweeping over the Agammenus family, the Mechanicus, the State Church, the Astral Army, the remnants of the PDF, local nobles, and the bureaucrats who were too terrified to speak.
"Now, I declare that the Vigilant Star is now under full wartime management."
"All resources, manpower, ships, shields, troops, factories, water purification stations, granaries, transport teams, shelters, medical stations, corpse disposal systems, starports and orbital defense facilities on the Vigilant Star are under my unified command."
The hall was eerily quiet.
Calga stood to one side without saying a word.
He could sense the fear, resistance, and calculation of those people in parliament.
This puts all the power accumulated by the various factions of Vigilant Star over thousands of years into Lawson's hands.
If anyone else had said that, Parliament would have exploded long ago.
But now, the half-breed corpse that was just exposed is still on the ground.
The shadow wheel behind Lawson was still spinning.
No one dared to be the first to speak out.
Lawson glanced at a member of parliament who had been dragged out from under his feet.
"In addition, I observed that several defense lines on Vigilant Star need repair, and the shield nodes are also missing some servants."
"Has anyone volunteered?"
Upon hearing this, many people in the hall turned completely pale.
Sign up to be a flight attendant?
Nobody thought it was a joke.
Harlow, who was arrested, was the first to collapse.
He knelt on the ground, his voice cracking.
"My Lord, I will cooperate! I will cooperate fully! The Harlowen family's reservoirs, private army, transport convoys, and underground warehouses will all be at your command! I will do whatever you tell me to do!"
The official standing nearby, who insisted on having the legal department stamp the document, immediately shouted:
"The Court of Justice is willing to provide all the archives for wartime rule! All seals, authorizations, and regulations are at your direct disposal! Lord Seal Holder, I have never opposed you; I am only worried that incomplete procedures could be exploited by treacherous individuals!"
The representative of the transport association was pinned to the ground by San Gou, who held him by the shoulders.
He hurriedly said, "My entire fleet is being requisitioned! No compensation is needed for the losses! As long as we can keep the Alert Star, the Chamber of Commerce is willing to bear everything!"
More people are starting to express their opinions.
"Our tribe is willing to hand over the refuge!"
"The grain depot of District 31 in the West is willing to submit to allocation!"
"All family private armies can be brought under joint command!"
"We support the Lord of the Seal!"
"We were just deceived by the aliens!"
"May the Emperor bear witness to our loyalty!"
Some people are genuinely scared.
Even now, some people still want to distance themselves from the exposure of their mixed-race heritage.
Serena Agammenus stood still, not joining the others in shouting.
The Agamemnos family has lost a lot.
If she were to hastily pledge allegiance like a lower-ranking noble, the last shred of dignity for the family would be shattered.
So she stepped forward and bowed her head to Lawson.
"The Agammenus family acknowledges the supreme wartime command authority of the Sealholder."
"The Governor's Office will hand over all available files, shield access records, hive population registers, PDF remnants of communication bands, and military rosters of various noble families."
“I request that the nominal ruling status of the Agammenus family be retained to appease the nest cities that have not yet fallen.”
Archbishop Elisius also stood up.
He pressed the reliquary to his chest and bowed to Lawson.
"The state church is willing to cooperate with wartime deployments. Sanctuaries, relief stations, combat nuns, medical prayer teams, and refugee support teams will be subject to unified arrangements."
“But I request that basic prayer order be maintained during the refugee transfer. Fear can drive people crazy, and prayer can get them into the shelter in an orderly line instead of trampling each other to death.”
The sage Omniklas of the Mechanic Order was the slowest to react.
"Huangquan No. 8 is stationed at the Vigilant Star Mechanical Repair Society, under the wartime command of the Lord of the Seal."
"The fortress-level void shield involves core technologies and sacred machine spirits. The Mechanic Order can open the tactical interface, but the main control prayer and technical verification must be performed by a priest with the appropriate authority."
Lawson sneered and turned his gaze to everyone.
"You don't seem to understand yet."
"I'm not talking about cooperation. I'm talking about unconditional, full cooperation."
The shadow wheel slowly turned, its dark gold gleam reflecting on the faces of the nobles.
"Let me be frank from the start, I have a bad temper."
I will not warn you a second time.
"First delay, check."
"Second delay, kill."
"If any evidence of genetic pollution, collusion with the authorities, hoarding of military supplies, falsification of battle reports, interception of water sources, concealment of supply lines, or condoning of cults is found, I will uproot the families, departments, and military officer systems involved."
Lawson looked at Representative Harlow, who was being held down on the ground.
"Did you understand?"
Representative Harlow nodded vigorously.
"The existing Aquilalia Council is hereby dissolved."
Serena's eyelid twitched.
Some of the surviving members of parliament opened their mouths, but dared not utter a sound.
Lawson continued:
"The Vigilant Star will no longer be allowed to be dragged to destruction by endless factional disputes."
"From now on, establish a new wartime governing body."
"Its name is Nachmond's Vigilant Wartime Command Court."
Tigurius raised his eyes slightly, and Calga also looked at Lawson.
This is not only a warning star, but also incorporates the Nachmond Corridor into its symbolic scope.
Lawson offered no explanation.
"During wartime, the Supreme Command Center takes me as its highest command core."
"Commander Calgar is the Supreme Military Advisor to the Imperial Allied Forces, responsible for coordinating the Ultramarines, the Astral Army, the PDF, the various chapters, and the orbital defense forces."
Calga nodded: "I accept."
Lawson looked at Serena.
