Abaddon did not lead a group of pirates who only robbed merchant ships, nor was he a remnant of the Red Pirates who had been repeatedly outmaneuvered by Lawson and lost their stronghold.

This is the main force of the Black Legion, the iron core of a millennium of rebellion.

Calga's goal is clear.

First, disrupt their formation.

To avoid torpedoes, air-to-air mines, and the first round of macro cannons, the Chaos Fleet will experience differences in speed, turning, and spacing.

Once the enemy formation is broken, the Imperial fleet can use a second layer of artillery fire to pick off the scattered enemy ships one by one.

He wanted the Black Legion to have to sacrifice a batch of warships for every step they took to advance.

The distance line gradually narrows.

The outer escort fleet was under immense pressure. They were at the forefront, facing the rolling bulwark of the black legion.

If you fire too early, the enemy will have enough time to maneuver and evade.

If they open fire too late, the escort fleet may not have time to disengage.

Calgary waited until the last affordable window.

"A salvo of torpedoes."

The first layer of the Imperial fleet opened fire simultaneously.

Hundreds and thousands of torpedoes were launched from the array of frigates, destroyers and cruisers, their exhaust plumes stretching into long white lines in deep space.

The darkness on the outer layer of Jueling Star was illuminated.

The torpedo swarm pierced through the wreckage and the air minefield, heading straight for the Chaos Fleet.

The next instant, a second batch of torpedoes was launched from further rear.

Their trajectories differ, their elevations are staggered, and their speeds vary slightly, forming a multi-layered strike network pre-planned by Calgary and the Naval Staff.

If the enemy forces evade, they will crash into the second level of the path.

If the enemy maintains its course, it will be subjected to a frontal barrage.

The Imperial fleet immediately opened fire.

A massive cannonball flew from the muzzle, carrying enough kinetic energy to tear a city apart, and crashed into the Black Legion's vanguard fleet.

The spear of light then pierced through the void.

Beams of blazing white light pierced the battlefield, igniting the outer shields of the Chaos Fleet.

"Hit countdown".

"First wave of torpedo contact."

On the tactical platform, the light representing a torpedo crashed into the forefront of the Chaos Fleet.

Explosions lit up the screen one after another.

The void shield of a traitor's frigate collapsed under repeated hits, and its bow was then torn open by a macro cannon shell. The hull broke apart, and flames erupted from within.

Another Black Legion cruiser took three torpedoes, its port side armor collapsed, and flames shot out of its propellers.

Several battleships were caught in a pincer attack by air-torpedoes and torpedoes, forcing them to slow down, and were subsequently hit by the Empire's second-tier macro guns.

The Chaos Fleet continues its advance.

Like a pack of mad dogs chained together by the same will, charging forward despite torpedoes and shells.

Calga frowned.

"They did not avoid it."

The admiral stood to the side, his face grim.

"Commander, they are using their front-line ships to take the brunt of the fire."

Calga's gaze grew even colder.

The Chaos Fleet suffered significant losses.

However, this loss was clearly within Abaddon's acceptable range.

The Black Legion used its outer warships as shields to approach the Imperial interception network.

Abaddon saw through Calga's intentions.

He refused to maneuver according to the Imperial Fleet's pre-set plan.

Since the Empire wanted to force a change in formation through firepower, he would trade casualties for a stable advance.

The silhouette of the Vengeance Soul was still visible in the distance, like a half-open eye in the black tide.

Calga immediately adjusted his orders.

"The second layer of artillery fire will be brought forward."

"Heavy patrol, prepare to unleash your light spears!"

"The lead escort ships should withdraw to the flanks and not linger in battle."

Keystone sequence synchronization command.

The Imperial fleet began to adjust its tactics while fighting.

But the Chaos Fleet continued its advance.

As the distance closed, the subspace interference from the enemy ship became increasingly stronger.

The lights in the bridge dimmed briefly.

Tigurius was not on the bridge; Calgar was only accompanied by Ultramarines and auxiliary psionic personnel dispatched by the Fleet Intelligence Bureau.

A shipboard psionic officer suddenly covered his forehead.

"Commander, the subspace pressure is abnormal."

Calga turned his head.

"source?"

The psychic official's face turned pale.

"Inside the ship."

The next instant, reality on the side of the bridge cracked.

Crimson cracks spread out in the air.

A sweet, cloying aroma wafted out first.

It is like fruit pulp saturated with spices in a rotting garden, or like wine poured into blood at a noble banquet.

The ordinary officer on the bridge changed his expression.

Several servants simultaneously emitted malfunctioning screams.

The crack is expanding.

A large number of demons poured out from it.

Slender limbs.

Arms with hooks and claws.

A beautiful yet deformed torso.

The Slaanesh demon screechs as it lunges toward the bridge defenses.

The demons launched a surprise attack on the command center.

This is the real reason why Abaddon was forced to withstand the approaching artillery fire.

It wasn't simply a matter of the fleet breaking through the interception network.

Instead, while keeping the Imperial fleet focused on direct artillery battles, they used a warp rift to directly shove the demons into the critical bridge.

If the command systems of a dozen or so core warships were to fail simultaneously, the Imperial Interception Network would lose its coordination.

On the bridge of the Victory Laureate, explosive guns fired in unison.

The Ultramarine Guard is highly trained and immediately formed an intercepting firepower.

The explosive bomb shattered hordes of low-ranking Slaanesh demons.

Blood, flesh, aroma, shattered claws, and purple flames exploded at the edge of the bridge.

But what stepped out of the crack changed the air on the entire bridge.

Tall. Slender. Twisted.

A keeper bowed its head and passed through the crack, stepping onto the bridge of the Victory Laurel.

Slaanesh the Great Demon.

Its body was much taller than that of a normal Astartes, with long limbs and muscles sculpted as if for both slaughter and dance. Its torso was adorned with gold rings, jewels, fine chains, and ornate decorations that cut into its flesh.

Gems were inlaid on its chest and abdomen, and some of the gems seemed to contain mortal faces screaming silently.

His head was covered with curved horns, his face was both beautiful and deformed, and he wore an overly gentle smile.

It held a long, thin spear in its hand.

The spearhead gleamed with a pinkish-purple light.

That was the demonic weapon that the great demon Slaanesh used to pierce the boundaries of body, soul, desire, and pain.

The keeper glanced around the bridge and let out a low chuckle.

"Maennos Calga".

It pronounced Calgary's name as if savoring a piece of candy.

"Lord of Macurag".

"Guilliman's proud son."

"Your soul should be very resilient."

The Ultramarines Guard opened fire.
