"Then find a protector who is strong enough and trustworthy enough."
Ilancia's tone turned cold.
"Living under someone else's roof?"
"Better than exterminating the entire clan."
Adele was very direct.
Ilancia was stung by those words.
Adela continued, “You are a guest of the Marker. If the family you mentioned is truly valuable, you may seek the Marker's protection.”
Ilancia seemed to have heard something absurd.
"To have Lawson protect my...family?"
Adela did not correct her momentary pause.
"why not?"
Do you know what this means?
"It means you will pay the price."
Adela said, “Land, technology, labor, war cooperation, intelligence, access, or something that adults value. Asylum is never free.”
"You make it sound so easy."
Ilancia's eyes were filled with anger.
"An ancient, wandering family seeks refuge with a human warlord? Entrusting their ancestors, honor, and future to him?"
Adela was not deterred by her anger.
She simply asked calmly, "Is it more honorable to continue wandering?"
Ilancia was speechless for a moment.
Adela softened her tone.
"Your Excellency, I once thought that dignity was very important. Later I realized that dignity is something only the living can talk about. The dead are only remembered by others who write their epitaphs."
"If one day, your family's children can grow up under a safe sky, the elderly can sleep in a fixed home, and the relics of your ancestors can be well preserved, then every time an enemy comes, they will suffer a loss."
"Is the loss of face really more valuable than these things?"
A night breeze blew by.
Yilancia suddenly felt the aftereffects of the wine starting to kick in.

Chapter 216: The Ark's IP Has Been Captured; The Disaster Fleet Attacks.
The edge of the Milky Way.
The Saim-Han Ark glides along an ancient route.
It is like a world woven from spirit bones, bloodlines, and ancient resentments, drifting at near-light speed in the sparse starlight.
From a distance, it doesn't look like a ship.
It is more like a continent shaped into a sharp, long arc, a white mountain range floating in the void.
The ship, 3,600 kilometers long, stretched across the darkness, its outer skeleton structure gleaming with an ivory-like luster in the afterglow of the stars.
Clusters of spires, crescent-shaped bridges, floating temples, psionic observation arrays, and anti-gravity ports are distributed on both sides of the massive main ridge.
The ark was surrounded by layers of escort fleets.
Ghost ships, Dawn cruisers, Storm-class frigates, Falcon transport ships, and countless small patrol boats weaved and sailed in the outer orbit.
Closer in, thousands of defense platforms floated silently.
Star Dart Array, Light Spear Turret, Torpedo Interception Silo, Netgate Anchor Tower, Psionic Warning Obelisk.
Each layer of defense is woven into the Ark's mental circuitry. Any unfamiliar ship that approaches within dangerous range will be simultaneously locked onto by the Prophet's Tower, the fleet commander, and the clan's patrol riders.
Saim-Han will not stop.
Stopping means being noticed by more people.
For the Eldar of the Ark, the void is not a vast expanse of freedom, but a wilderness that must be constantly traversed.
Every route must avoid the Chaos Tides, the slumbering graveyards of the Necromancers, the Imperial fleet patrols, the looming shadows of the Tyranids, and the dark kin hidden in the cracks of the Web.
They call themselves wild.
Outsiders also call them that.
But only Saim-Han himself knows that behind the wildness lies a perpetually taut vigilance.
The interior of the ark appears even more magnificent than the exterior.
Beneath the Spirit Bone Dome, the ancient clan's residential area unfolds along the main ridge.
The upper levels consist of the palaces of the upper clans, the temples of the riders, the ancestral corridors, and the council chambers for the skeletal remains.
The middle level consists of workshops, hangars, training grounds, art academies, temple roads, and network traffic nodes.
Deeper still lies the Ark's most important core area.
Soul Stone Matrix.
The place where the souls of our ancestors slumber.
No ordinary soldiers could approach that place at will.
Each door is protected by psionic runes, bone guardians, necromancers, and prophetic incantations. Unauthorized intruders will have their life force drained by the bone walls before even entering the first forbidden zone.
The streets of Saim-Han are wide and elegant, with anti-gravity motorcycles parked everywhere. The Eldar here are not as serene as those on other Arks; they wear more red and white, and more wind patterns, bloodline symbols, and hunter emblems.
Young riders sped through the training dome, anti-gravity motorcycles swept along the curved track, streaks of light crisscrossing beneath the dome.
The elder stood on the stands, commenting on their turning, acceleration, sprint angles, and close-range engagement timing.
The children here hear the sound of engines very early on.
Many people can already distinguish the differences in the tuning of motorcycle engines from different clans, even before they can recite the ancestral poems in their entirety.
Saim Han values speed.
They also value blood ties.
Clan is the framework by which they understand the world.
On this ark, twelve superior clans hold supreme power. Each superior clan possesses a vast population, control of core workshops, hangars, warships, Eldar Titans, and priority access to multiple ancient network pathways.
At this moment, the Starfire Royal Court has been opened.
This council chamber, located atop the main ridge of the ark, resembles an inverted red temple. Twelve spirit pillars rise from the ground, each containing the echoing soul stones of heroes from past generations of the superior clans.
In the center of the royal court was a low, round council seat.
The twelve high-ranking clan chiefs each sat on one side.
Behind them were the banners, guards, skeletal recorders, and armed messengers of their respective clans.
Further out is the Prophets.
These prophets wore robes of different colors, their eyes weary beneath their masks. They were not clan chiefs, yet in many instances they wielded a more formidable and fearsome voice than the chiefs themselves.
Because they see the future.
At the very least, they claim to have seen the future.
There is only one topic today.
Lawson.
Agrippina's Dark Side: The Hand of the Marker.
That human warlord who seized Abaddon's flagship, tore off the arms of the Chaos Warmaster, captured and controlled the Keeper of the Secrets, purified the Eldar Soulstone, and detained Elancia.
At the center of the royal court, a psionic projection floats.
The projected information fragments were displayed.
Ilancia was captured.
The assassination squad was wiped out.
A large number of soul stones were floating in Lawson's hand.
The soul stone, corrupted by chaos, was restored to its clarity by his power.
He threatened that if Saeim-Han wanted to fight, he would join forces with the Slaanesh.
There are even worse records.
The Prophets have argued about this information three times already.
The clan leaders argued five times.
This is the sixth time.
The first clan leader, Keraher Redmane, from one of the twelve supreme blood-rage clans, was the first to speak.
His hair and beard were like fire, and the edges of his armor were engraved with blood-red wind patterns.
"I don't like this human."
"But I'd rather not have 3,600 soul stones left in his hands."
Another clan leader, Arian Silver Spear, who wore a white feather cloak, gently tapped the armrest.
"We cannot be led astray by a few soul stones."
Kelach looked at him.
