Another older female chieftain said, "How you dispose of your spoils is your business. As long as the demon is under your control, we have no objections."
Several clan leaders expressed their views one after another, using different wording, but their meanings were the same.
Thanks to the reinforcements, we will not interfere with Lawson's handling of Sarasien.
A group of seasoned politicians knew very well that at this moment, Lawson's army was bleeding for them inside Saim-Han, and if the reinforcements turned against them because of a prophet's impulsive act, the entire Ark might not survive the next twelve hours.
Er Gou didn't loosen his grip even after hearing these words.
He glanced down at Eloris, whom he was carrying.
The prophet's face had turned from purple to an unhealthy deep red.
Did you hear me?
"The boss can raise whatever he wants. Even the Emperor doesn't care. Why should you, an old bean sprout, have to meddle?"
After he finished speaking, he threw Eloris to the ground.
The prophet fell onto the ground of the spirit bones, coughed a few times, supported himself with one hand, and covered his neck with the other.
His attendants rushed over to help him up, and two prophetic guards handed the staff back to him.
Eloris stood up, supporting herself with her staff, and took a few seconds to catch her breath.
You could see the bruises left by Er Gou's fingers on his Adam's apple; if it were an ordinary human, his neck would have been broken long ago.
Only then did Lawson look at him.
"You have a problem with me keeping Qianxian as a pet?"
Eloris rubbed his neck; the prophet's pride did not yield to the pain and humiliation.
"My opinion will not change just because someone has choked me."
“Slaanesh is deceitful by nature. Thousand Strings has lived for tens of thousands of years, and every oath he made could be a trap. You may be able to grasp his true name, but the true name is a lock, and locks can rust. The more you trust him, the greater the possibility that he will infiltrate you.”
He looked around the square, his gaze sweeping over the Saim-Han fighters who had just pointed their guns at him but had now lowered them.
"Today it's your pet, tomorrow it might be the key to tear apart our Soul Stone Vault."
After he finished speaking, he looked at Salosin.
"Elder Chief, more Eldar have died at the hands of Slaanesh than at the hands of the Chaos Legion."
Salosin understood what Eloris was doing. The prophet realized he had acted impulsively, but he couldn't back down directly, so he changed his strategy, repackaging his personal offense as a concern for the safety of the tribe.
This is a smart way out.
The problem is, Lawson understood as well.
"Well said."
"You say Qianxian is untrustworthy, dangerous, and a potential hazard to keep. Fine, I'll grant your wish."
He tilted his head and looked at Sarasien at his feet.
"Qian Xian."
Sarahian was kneeling on the ground watching the commotion when she heard Lawson call her name, and immediately put on a docile act.
"Owner."
“This prophet thinks you are too dangerous, that your very existence is a threat. I’m going to give him a chance. I’ll remove the collar that restricts you, and you can fight him one-on-one. If he wins and kills you, I have no objection.”
Salahien reacted faster than anyone else.
She went from kneeling to half-squatting, leaning forward like a wild beast that had caught the scent of its prey, her purple eyes fixed on Eloris.
“Master, I am willing to duel him.”
She tilted her head slightly, looking down at Eloris with an approving gaze.
"It's been a long time since I've tasted a fresh prophet."
Eloris gripped her staff tightly.
A bead of sweat settled on his forehead.
The Eldar warriors watched this scene with complex expressions. Of course, they didn't want their prophet to fight the Slaanesh archduke one-on-one. But Eloris's righteous and stern words, "She must be killed," were now on full display.
You said she deserved to die.
Row.
Go kill them.
Lawson even suggested that the restrictions could be lifted to give him a level playing field.
Eloris quickly assessed her situation.
In the Eldar's war division of labor, the Prophet is responsible for prophecy and guidance, and their direct combat power is far inferior to combat professions such as Phoenix Lord, Scorpion, and Dragon Knight.
Sending a prophet to fight a Slaanesh archdeacon one-on-one is about the same as sending a strategist to fight a heavy titan in melee combat.
He agreed, and died. His soul stone would be swallowed in front of all the clan leaders.
His death was so horrific it could be written into the shameful history of Saim Khan.
Refusing is shameful, but it means living.
He chose the latter: "I am a prophet, my duty is to foresee and guide, not to fight head-on."
The curve of Lawson's lips showed that he was very satisfied with the answer.
"That's why you can't beat her."
“I never said I could defeat the great demon Slaanesh.”
Eloris was careful with her words, “I said she shouldn’t be alive. Both of these things can be true at the same time.”
“It can be true at the same time,” Lawson scoffed, “but you lack the ability to implement it. So your opinion is just that—an opinion.”
Eloris's jawline was taut.
Er Gou patted Eloris's face twice more.
"Coward."
"All talk and no action, now it's your turn, you coward. Next time you're going to shout about fighting and killing, check your crotch first."
Eloris's expression changed three times.
He was slapped in the face in public. As a high-ranking member of the Saim-Han Prophet Order, such an insult should have prompted every Eldar warrior around him to stand up for him.
He looked around, but no one spoke up for him.
The chieftains remained silent, while the warriors bowed their heads or looked away. His guards gripped their weapons, but their eyes were fixed on Salosin's reaction, awaiting the old chieftain's instructions.
He realized that he had no allies left in this square.
His impulsive actions just now nearly ruined the fragile aid relationship between Saim-Han and Lawson. Everyone blames him in their hearts, but no one says it to his face.
Eloris gripped his staff and took a step back. His guards pulled him behind the group of chieftains.
The standoff in the square has ended.
Salosin Bloodwind stepped forward.
"My Lord, the battlefield is not the place to talk."
He skipped the controversy and turned the conversation to something more important to both sides.
“The Starfire Royal Court of Saim-Han is now operational. The military distribution of the twelve clans, the Ark's spirit bone defense system, the status of the Soul Stone Vault, and intelligence on the network nodes are all there. If you are willing to enter the Starfire Royal Court, we can coordinate the division of the war zones and tactical cooperation between the two sides there.”
He bowed slightly.
He was using body language to tell Lawson, "I'm placing you between the Imperial emissaries and the Eldar allies."
You give me face, and I'll give you face too.
Lawson looked at him for two seconds.
"Row."
As he turned around, he casually patted Sarasien on the shoulder.
"Get up and keep up."
Sarasien stood up.
She gathered her waist-length black hair with her fingers and adjusted the collar of her form-fitting purple robe, her movements so relaxed that it was as if she weren't on a battlefield, but rather looking in the mirror before leaving the house.
Er Gou and San Gou followed behind Lawson, one on the left and one on the right.
Salosin led the way with the tribal chiefs.
As the group moved along the Spirit Bone Corridor towards the inner layer of the Ark, they passed a checkpoint guarded by ghostly guardians.
The two ghostly constructs silently scanned everyone who passed by. The dead souls sealed within them did not warn Lawson and his guards, but when Salathion passed by, both constructs simultaneously took a half step back.
Even the souls of the dead avoid her.
Salasion turned around and blew a kiss to the two Ghost Guards.
Horace said coldly, "Watch your hands and your mouth."
Salasion blinked.
"They clearly like me."
As the procession approached the entrance to the Starfire Royal Court, the Spirit Bone Passage narrowed.
The walls on both sides are covered with ancient clan battle flags and ancestral spirit inscriptions, and the spiritual veins flow with a faint light inside the walls.
This is the core command area of Saim-Han, and only the highest-ranking members of the twelve superior clans and the Prophets are authorized to enter.
A high-ranking Eldar officer dressed in ceremonial armor stood at the entrance.
He was the guard of the Starfire Royal Court.
The officer on duty did not stop Lawson and his guards as they passed through.
Salosin had given prior notice that the commander of the human reinforcements had temporary access privileges.
As Salosien passed by, the guard turned his gaze to Salosien. The old chieftain nodded slightly, and the guard took a deep breath and removed his hand from his weapon.
As Salathion passed by him, he glanced at him and said something in Eldar. The guard's face turned deathly pale instantly.
