It was precisely because he had caught it that he became even more silent.
The ammunition bay couldn't possibly be that big.
For a low-altitude unit of this size, there must be trade-offs in terms of load capacity, speed, weapon hardpoints, and protective structure.
They already carry enough firepower that it is impossible for them to carry additional ammunition reserves sufficient to support half an hour of high-intensity suppression.
But they just wouldn't stop.
No squadron left the battlefield and returned to the supply point.
Severus did not inquire about the combat sequence nodes around him.
The other party may not answer.
Even if he answers, it might not be something he has the authority to know right now.
So he simply looked at the sky and silently recalculated the war in his mind.
On the ground, the insect swarm began to show more obvious chaos.
A Zerg tyrant is attempting to reintegrate the surrounding synaptic chains.
It was surrounded by a large number of guardian insects, including blade insects, warrior insects, bio-cannon beasts, and swarms of flying insects, forming a thick, despair-inducing wall of flesh.
Based on past experience with the Sunblade, eliminating such a target would require at least an elite Astartes squad to break in, pay a heavy price, and possibly even be surrounded by the Zerg swarm.
The Flying Bear motorcycle began to accelerate from 30 kilometers away.
Initially, they were just twelve black dots on the horizon, gliding along the lower edge of the burning clouds.
The next second, the anti-gravity engine simultaneously entered overload mode, and the black dot was stretched into a long afterimage, like twelve heavy armor-piercing shells fired from low altitude, rushing straight towards the ridge where the Hive Tyrant was located along the air corridor above the swarm that was red-hot by artillery fire.
The Hive Tyrant sensed danger; its synaptic core deep within its thorax vibrated violently, and the surrounding swarm of guardian insects instantly converged upon it.
The warrior beetle raised its scythe, and the armored guard beetle used its body to form a writhing chitinous wall. Behind it, the bio-cannon beast inflated its sacs and sprayed acid bombs, bone spikes, and live spores into the sky.
Tens of thousands of flying insects rose from the swarm, like a black tsunami sweeping into the sky.
Twelve Flying Bear motorcycles crashed directly into that dark cloud.
Incendiary bombs were thrown from both sides of the Flying Bear Motorcycle, exploding in circles of incandescent fire in the center of the flying insect swarm.
The insect wings were instantly ignited, the acid sacs burst in the high temperature, and the black insect swarm was torn into several channels by the flames.
The heavy-explosive cannon roared in response, and the ammunition belt poured out from under the motorcycle's belly, sending the guard swarm flying with blood and flesh.
The shattered shells and limbs fell like rain, crashing into the still surging sea of knife-like insects below.
The Hive Tyrant unleashed a silent mental roar.
More insects swarmed over.
A giant flying guardian insect crashed into the lead Flying Bear motorcycle from the side, its wingspan almost covering half the sky when it unfolded.
The rider, Xiong Wei, did not dodge; he simply lowered the front of his motorcycle, letting the entire heavy motorcycle glide past the other rider's abdomen.
A white line lit up on the belly-mounted thermoelectric cutter, cutting from the chest of the flying guardian insect all the way to its tail, spraying out a foul-smelling rain of corrosive blood.
The next instant, the Flying Bear motorcycle swarm charged out, raining blood.
The mountain ridge is right in front of us.
The massive figure of the Hive Tyrant stood amidst the firelight and smoke, its thick bone plates stacked upon each other, its four scythe-like arms piercing the ground, and its heavily armored guards forming a living fortress.
Its synaptic pressure spread outwards, and the chaotic low-level insect swarm regained command, piling up in swathes towards the front of the ridge, attempting to use their bodies to block the twelve black chariots.
The swarm network did not give it a second chance to adjust.
The three leading Flying Bear motorcycles pressed down simultaneously.
[Shattering Nail] Launched!!
This is a heavy tactical weapon that can even penetrate the shield of a Titan!
Three streaks of black and gold flame tore through the battlefield, like three world-destroying spears driven down from the depths of the clouds, piercing directly through the insectoid swarm's defensive line.
The armored guardian insect at the very front had just raised its bone plates when its body was struck by the Shattering Spike and snapped backward.
Its chitinous outer shell, strong enough to withstand a tank's main gun, exploded like rotten wood in the face of the black and gold light. The high-pressure blood plasma in its chest cavity sprayed out for more than ten meters, and was then ignited into a cloud of green fire mist by the subsequent explosion.
The second guardian insect didn't even have time to hiss before its entire spine was pierced through.
The Shattering Nail shot out from behind it, its momentum undiminished as it grazed the fleshy wall of the swarm, shattering all the insect bodies along its path into flying carapace fragments.
The final beam of black and gold light struck the Hive Tyrant squarely in the chest.
At that moment, the entire mountain ridge seemed to have been struck by a heavy hammer.
The outer skeletal plates of the Hive Tyrant collapsed inward, and the synaptic core deep in its thoracic cavity was forcibly pierced.
The residual energy of the Shattering Nail erupted within its body, and black-gold cracks spread from its chest to its shoulders, neck, abdomen, and limbs, causing pieces of its thick carapace to shatter and fly away.
Its massive body fell backward, but it did not die immediately. Its four scythe-like arms swung wildly, carving deep fissures into the mountain ridge.
Flying Bear Motorcycle has arrived.
Twelve heavy motorcycles swept past on either side of the explosion's flames, like steel raptors hunting a giant beast.
The heavy explosive cannons continued their close-range bombardment, the thermal beams severed the joints, and the missile pods blasted the surrounding guard bugs that tried to pounce into rolling chunks of flesh.
Flames, acid mist, shattered shells, and artillery fire mingled together, making the entire ridge look like it was being torn apart by a metal storm.
Xiong Weisong, who was leading the way, drove the car.
He leaped from the Flying Bear motorcycle, his five-meter-tall, heavily armored body drawing a heavy arc in the air.
The thrusters on his back emitted a short burst of energy, and he dragged the giant axe behind him with both hands, the edge of the axe blade glowing with dark golden fire.
The Hive Tyrant raised its head.
Half of a shattered spike was still stuck in its chest, and its synaptic core was collapsing, but the instinct belonging to the hive's will still drive it to raise its scythe, wanting to tear the bear guard in mid-air in two.
Too slow!!!
The bear guard crashed down!
The giant axe first severed the first scythe-bladed arm, then pressed down on the shoulder bone of the insect hive tyrant.
Sparks and insect blood exploded simultaneously, and the axe blade, carrying the momentum left by the Flying Bear Motorcycle's charge, cut diagonally into the neck, cleaving through the thick shell, muscles, nerve bundles, and spine.
The head of the Hive Tyrant flew off.
As it rolled down the ridge, it dragged along a string of broken synaptic nerves, like a living command tower that had been cut off.
The uncontrolled mental shock exploded within the swarm, causing hundreds of thousands of low-level insectoids around the ridge to freeze simultaneously. Some convulsed in place, some collided with each other, and some, disoriented, rushed directly into the burning ravine.
The bear guard landed back on his motorcycle, the insect blood on his giant axe being flung into a green arc by the high-speed airflow.
Twelve heavy motorcycles swooped down from the other side of the ridge, through explosions, flames, and collapsing swarms of insects, continuing their charge toward the next synaptic node marked by a level two eagle eye.
Behind them, the massive headless corpse of the Hive Tyrant crashed to the ground.
The entire swarm of insects, like a monster whose spine had been ripped out, began to collapse.
But this time, something even stranger happened.
After the Hive Tyrant falls, its corpse does not remain swollen with flesh and blood like a normal Tyranid corpse, nor does it release abundant biomass that can be recycled by the digestive pool.
It began to shrivel up, starting from the wound. The flesh and blood seemed to be drawn away by something invisible, the thick muscles collapsed rapidly, the chitinous carapace lost its luster, and the remaining nerve bundles in the body curled into dry black lines.
In just over ten seconds, the enormous corpse transformed from a colossal creature that had just fallen into a withered, empty shell.
Not just that.
Almost all Zerg killed by the Flying Bear Motorcycle, Hurricane Motorcycle, and Battle Sequence are undergoing similar changes.
After the small knife-like insects fall to the ground, their flesh and blood rapidly shrink, and their carapace becomes brittle.
The biological cyst inside the gun worm's thoracic cavity lost its activity and turned into a hardened mass of grayish-white tissue.
The warrior insect's high-density muscles were drained, leaving only a collapsed chitinous frame.
The swarm of flying insects fell from the sky, breaking into a pile of light, dry shells upon landing.
On the battlefield, one after another, the corpses of insects looked as if they had been devoured by an invisible hunger.
This is the first time the Tyranid swarm has encountered this situation.
The insect swarm is never afraid of death.
The problem is that the dead units do not return to the swarm cycle.
The biomass is gone, the chitin is gone, the nerve tissue is gone.
Those corpses still lay on the battlefield, but they no longer belonged to the Zerg Hive fleet.
For Tyronn, this is worse than death; it's a loss.
In the past, swarm wars have resulted in both losses and gains.
They deploy their forces, kill the enemy, recover the enemy, recover themselves, and devour the entire planet. As long as the final biomass gains exceed the input, the number of individuals that die is merely a transportation cost.
Therefore, the Empire often felt that the swarms of insects were endless.
Because they are not fighting a war of attrition.
They are moving a biological factory, using the corpses of their enemies and themselves to pay the price for the next round of attacks.
But now, Lawson's system has stepped in.
【Biomass +5000】
Chitin +8000
Chitin core +2
High-density synaptic tissue has been recovered.
These things, which should have returned to the stomachs of the Zerg Hive fleet, all ended up in Lawson's armory.
The underlying formula for this war has been rewritten.
…………
After Lawson took over the frontline command of the Pacific Starfield, the first change in the entire command center was in speed.
Intelligence from the Taiping Starfield has also been circulating in the past.
