At this moment, the green swarm representing the orcs on the hologram was rapidly advancing towards the outer perimeter of the pass.
“Vazdaka Guzmek,” Arek gritted his teeth as he uttered the name of the orc warlord. “That mad beast has gathered hundreds of thousands of racing lads. Their tank engines are strapped with high explosives, and they charge at shield generators at the passes without regard for damage. The 3rd Steel Legion, stationed in Mannheim, has sent me fourteen consecutive requests for reinforcements; their forward positions have been crushed into mincemeat by these green-skinned tanks.”
Arek said anxiously, "Lord Calgar, the Space Marines' defenses have been stretched to their limit. I can't expect a few tactical squads to stop hundreds of thousands of Greenskin vehicles charging at full speed."
"What exactly is the Terran Ministry of Military Affairs delaying? When will the Astral Army reinforcements drawn from the Solar System and the Navy's orbital support fleet arrive in Armageddon?"
Calga was well aware of the pressure the old political commissar was under.
Arek calculates every day how many reserves he can spare to fill the gaps that could collapse at any moment.
"Reinforcements from the Terran military department are unlikely to arrive within three months."
Calga gave an answer that would drive any ordinary commander to despair: "The Ministry of the Interior's fleet assembly order is still waiting in line through a cumbersome approval process."
Arek's cheek muscles twitched.
The old political commissar forced a cold laugh from deep in his throat: "Tell the high lords of Terra that in three months, they can save on transport ship fuel. They only need to send a few fire ships over and burn the ruins of Armageddon and the greenskins reveling on it to ashes. Mannheim Pass won't last forty-eight hours!"
"Hamigidoton will not be reduced to ruins, and Mannheim Pass will not be lost."
Calgar interrupted Arek's anger: "I have bypassed Terra's channels and sent a request for help directly to Lord Lawson, the Shaper of the Empire's Dark Side. The Shaper's support will arrive soon."
Arek paused for a moment.
The flashing red laser eye lingered on Calga's Terminator armor for a moment.
As a commander who had always remained in the Imperial Holy Noodle Meat Grinder, Arek had naturally heard of the name "Losen".
This mysterious figure, who suddenly rose to prominence and was crowned the Seal of the Empire, is the subject of various exaggerated legends circulating among the high-ranking members of the Star Forces.
Arrek has always maintained a reserved attitude towards these legends.
"The Seal Bearer, Lawson".
Arek slowly repeated the name, “I have no doubt about that man’s authority. In this command post, I have personally witnessed ammunition and medical supplies falling out of thin air from the pale blue static field. That kind of logistical delivery technology is indeed amazing, but what I need is a large army that can pull the trigger.”
The old political commissar bent down and placed his arms on top of the holographic map.
"Moreover, the Dark Side of the Empire is also engulfed in war. How many people could the Sealholder send across half the galaxy at this critical juncture? Ten thousand Astral Army soldiers? Or two full-strength Astartes Chapters?"
Calga suddenly laughed: "Commissar, using conventional logistical logic to judge the methods of the Seal Master only limits your imagination."
Arek glanced at Calga a couple more times than expected.
In Arek's memory, this Ultramarines Chapter Leader was not that kind of person.
But at this moment, Calga's expression when he mentioned Losen was no longer just that of a subordinate obeying a superior.
“Besides the Emperor on the Golden Throne, the person I admire most in the Empire today is the Seal Bearer,” Karga said.
Arek's one eye suddenly widened.
For the supreme leader of an Ultramarines to say such a thing is almost a challenge to some kind of deep-seated loyalty.
"Lord Karl, do you mean that this new Seal Master holds a position in your heart that even surpasses that of the resurrected Limit Lord, the Primarch of the Thirteen Legions, Lord Guilliman?"
Calga nodded without hesitation.
“This is completely different, Arek.”
"Lord Guilliman is a great statesman, a master of logistics, and a strategic commander. His existence is the supporting wall of the crumbling Empire. We revere the Primarch and obey his commands."
"But you have never seen the Master of the Seals' fighting style with your own eyes."
Calgar seemed to recall scenes from the battlefield between the Vigilant Star and the Zerg.
"Lord Guilliman's war is beyond the comprehension of mortals, while the Marksman will directly tear apart the enemy's understanding."
“As long as the Marker responds to my plea for help, Armageddon will not fall. Even if there are a million greens outside Mannheim Pass, they will turn into a pile of rotting flesh as soon as the light of the Stasis Field is lit.”
"Commissar Arek, watch closely!"
Calga suddenly pointed to the giant main screen in front of him, "The Marksman's army is here!"
Arek abruptly raised his head, staring intently at the live feeds transmitted from the various main screens.
On the scorched earth outside Hades's nest, plowed countless times by artillery fire, and in front of the Mannheim Pass's crumbling defenses, space twisted without warning.
One after another, static force field channels opened up with a roar at the forefront of the battlefield.
The first to step out of the passage were three thousand combatants clad in power armor.
They were like three thousand steel wedges driven into the battlefield, instantly anchoring the coordinates of the entire battlefield.
Then, a scene that Arek would never forget unfolded.
The Titan army surged forth from the static force field like a bursting blue-white ocean.
They were fully armed, wearing streamlined composite armor and carrying long-barreled pulse rifles, with fire control drones and heavy combat suits interspersed in their formation.
"The army of the Tau Empire?"
The veteran could not understand why this group of blue-skinned aliens, residing on the edge of the galaxy, would appear in organized formations on the core battlefields of the Empire.
A combat officer standing next to Calga turned around and calmly introduced:
"The Lord of the Seal has just conquered the Tau Empire. The Tau people have now submitted to the Empire, paying their tithes on time, and have formed this standing army in accordance with the treaty to assist the Empire in its covert operations. They are collectively known as the Tau Allied Forces."
Calga was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter. The laughter echoed through the metal walls of the command center, dispelling the gloom that had been hanging over everyone for days.
"Commissar Arek, did you hear me?"
"Our Lord of the Seal has actually managed to completely defeat those blue-skinned aliens at this critical juncture! What do you call that? You call it conquering new territories!"
Arek took a deep breath to suppress the shock in his heart.
With the Imperial Holy Side being driven back by the Orcs, Chaos, and Tyranids, how could the Imperial Dark Side still spare troops to expand its territory? And what's more, it conquered an alien civilization with advanced technology and a complete industrial system?
This Lord Lord Lawson is probably even more powerful than the legends say.
Meanwhile, on the surface battlefield, the battle has already begun.
The 20 million titanium consortium members were divided into two parts by swarm intelligence.
Twelve million troops marched straight towards Hades's capital, while the remaining eight million formed an iron barrier, blocking the Mannheim Pass.
In this alien army, each platoon-level combat uniform unit includes one combat officer.
These suicide soldiers are the nerve endings extending from the swarm network.
What the Titanium Allied soldiers see is what the swarm mentality sees; the orders the suicide squads receive are the ironclad rules that the entire army must follow.
Ruins in the eastern part of Hades's nest city.
Millions of greenskinned orcs inhabit this place, transforming the Empire's heavy industrial furnaces into crude war machines.
The battle sequence locked onto the stress nodes of the hive's outer wall.
In an instant, 32,000 heavy railguns opened fire simultaneously.
The air was torn apart by the supersonic metal projectile, creating a deafening shriek.
Hades's hive city's steel walls bulged from the inside as the volley of fire hit.
Kinetic energy penetrated the outer armor, triggering a series of secondary explosions inside the hive.
The steel wall bulged outwards, then was torn apart by flames.
Tens of thousands of tons of metal fragments and concrete debris, mixed with mutilated orcs, screaming farts, and still-operating mechanical parts, were hurled hundreds of meters into the air by the shockwave.
A thick, green arm carrying half a chainsaw sword landed on the scorched earth hundreds of meters away.
A beastman's head, wearing welding goggles and still spurting blood from its neck, crashed into a newly dug trench belonging to the Titanium Allied Forces.
Even after its head hit the ground, its mouth, filled with fangs, continued to open and close wildly, attempting to tear at the head.
The next second, a military boot stepped on it, crushing the green skull and brains into a pulp.
"Proceed."
The entire front line began to move forward.
"Waaagh!"
Black smoke billowed from the ruins of Hades's nest, where the city gates had been destroyed.
Hundreds of thousands of orcs with bloodshot eyes and bulging muscles surged out of the smoke like a green mudslide.
They carried rusty machetes, chainsaw axes, and crudely made muskets, their gaping maws spewing foul-smelling saliva.
Behind these infantrymen were steel cans marching with heavy steps, killing cans wielding giant chainsaws, and battle fortresses spewing black smoke.
A green wave swept through the streets and ruins.
The orcs at the front of the charge tripped over the rubble, and the orcs behind them simply stepped on the bodies of their own kind, crushing bones as they continued forward.
Faced with a scene powerful enough to break the elite Astragalus Army, the 30,000 Tau auxiliary troops deployed on the first line of defense began firing.
The plasma pulse blasts, interwoven with deep blue and pure white, formed a deathly light curtain in front of the position.
The orcs at the forefront exploded in rows.
The high temperature of the pulse bullet penetrated their heavy armor and skin.
The chests of thousands of orcs were burned with charred holes, and their skulls burst one after another as they expanded under the high temperature.
Severed limbs, mangled flesh, and boiling green blood covered the open ground hundreds of meters in front of the position.
But this did not stop the Greenskins from charging.
The orcs trampled over the burning corpses of their own kind, braving a barrage of fire, and used thousands upon thousands of lives to bridge the distance of death.
Thirty thousand Tau auxiliary troops, armed with pulse rifles, maintained the highest firing rate until the green torrent crashed into the trenches.
The battle instantly turned into hand-to-hand combat.
The chainsaw axe whistled down, cleaving through the streamlined helmet of the Tau soldier, its rapidly spinning teeth embedding themselves in his shoulder bone.
The orc ripped a Tau soldier from his collarbone down to his abdomen.
The spiked boots sank into the opened chest cavity, crushing the internal organs into dust.
Blue blood mixed with green bodily fluids flowed down the slope of the trenches towards the low-lying areas.
Arrek, who was watching the battle from the command center, was very puzzled.
It is common knowledge in the galaxy that the Tau are not good at close combat.
