Clown finally understood the whole plan.
He sealed all the evidence in a courtroom-encrypted beacon.
The communication was interrupted as soon as the sending program started.
At the same time, Terra received another message.
The Ultramarines fleet is approaching the solar system.
Robert Guilliman is about to return to Terra.
When the news reached the secret sanctuary, the four rulers of the empire tensed up.
“Klaue cannot return.” Raskian’s mechanical tentacles slowly unfolded.
“Nafradaran accompanied him.”
Frank cautioned, “The disappearance of a single member of the Imperial Guard will alarm the entire inner court.”
"Then let them all die in the Comoros."
"Define it as an independent, covert operation by the court."
Lassilo replied, "The person in charge of the operation is Klaue."
"He made unauthorized contact with the Xenomorphs and brought the Bloodwalkers into Terra. Eventually, his actions were exposed, and he fled to escape punishment."
"The dead cannot defend themselves."
Chapter 290 Quickly go and invite the Master of the Seal
Klaus stared at the forcibly severed transmission record on his wrist terminal and did not attempt to continue.
It's meaningless now.
Some people know the encrypted frequency band they are using in the courtroom, know how the beacon is transmitted, and even know in advance which nodes the signal will eventually pass through.
To make matters worse, the other party reacted too quickly.
Less than three minutes passed between the communication being cut off and the arrival of the first batch of Dark Eldar outside the laboratory.
Their location had already been exposed.
"It seems we've been sold to the Dark Eldar by some powerful figures."
Judge Crow drew his explosive pistol from his waist and gripped his power sword tightly in his other hand.
The Royal Guardian shieldbearer Nafradaran held the Spear of the Guardian horizontally in front of him.
The explosive launcher at the tip of the spear was already aimed at the laboratory's only exit.
Both of them understood that someone in the empire wanted them dead!
They witnessed the empire's darkest secrets.
Therefore, they cannot return alive.
The heavy gate rose with a screeching metallic scraping sound.
Behind the door were hundreds of Dark Elf race members.
They scattered like a group of ruthless hunters, sealing off all escape routes.
The leader was a consul.
Erasmus Crow
The governor laughed mockingly: "Terra's lackeys, the Emperor's gatekeepers, I never expected we'd meet in a place like this."
"It seems Lassilo sold our coordinates for a good price," Klaus replied coldly.
"Oh, it's not just the coordinates."
The governor spread his hands: "And your identities, equipment, usual tactics, and all the medical records of your old body. I even know that you need to be injected with a stabilizer every thirty-six hours, otherwise your body will start to break down."
He tilted his head, his eyes behind the mask filled with a mocking expression.
"Based on the timing, your next injection should be in three hours?"
Klaus's heart sank. Damn it, they even sold this kind of information to the Dark Eldar.
"Let's do it!"
Nafradaran let out a low growl, and the Spear of the Guardians fired first.
The bomb exploded among the Dark Eldar, tearing several of the closest raiders to pieces on the spot.
More Dark Eldar quickly slipped into the shadows on either side of the passage.
Kraul's explosive pistol followed closely behind, firing precise bursts.
The two men stood back to back, fighting and retreating in the direction they had come from.
The Dark Eldar, like a cat toying with mice, maintained their distance, using shard rifles and poison crystal weapons to wear down the two's stamina and armor.
Sharp shards rained down on Nafradaran's golden Oramit armor, sending sparks flying.
These projectiles, made of tiny crystals, could not penetrate the armor of the Imperial Guards, but they could obscure their vision and disrupt their movements.
Crowley's situation was much worse.
His power armor was far less sturdy than that of the Imperial Guard; several times, the poisoned crystal chips nearly pierced through the gaps in the armor.
They retreated to a fork in the road.
Klaus chose the vertical elevator shaft on the left that led to the upper area.
However, when they arrived at the elevator shaft, they found that the platform had been destroyed, leaving only a bottomless, dark hole.
The governor's voice came from the shadows behind him, carrying the pleasure of a cat playing with a mouse.
“This road is blocked, Your Honor.”
Dozens of figures emerged from the shadows from all directions.
Nafradaran swung the Guardian's Spear, the blade drawing a golden semicircle, forcing back the two Mandelas who were trying to approach.
But another Mandela had already appeared behind Klaus, his Shadow Blade silently piercing the life support tube at the back of his neck.
Nafradaran deflected the sneak attack with the shaft of his spear.
"Stay close to me, let's retreat!"
The Imperial Guards let out a low growl, abandoned their retreat, and turned to charge towards another passage.
His massive body was like a battering ram, smashing away all the dark elves who stood in his way.
The Guardian's Spear transformed into a golden whirlwind in his hand.
Whether it's a nimble sorcerer or a well-equipped raiding warrior, anyone grazed by the spear blade will be cleaved in two, armor and all.
Klaus followed closely, his power sword severing the wrists or throats of enemies attempting to flank him.
The two fought their way through the encirclement.
But the Dark Eldar were hot on their heels.
They continuously whittled down their prey with ranged weapons, then launched surprise attacks from the shadows, waiting for the moment their prey ran out of strength.
Crow's breathing became increasingly heavy.
The life support device on my chest began to emit intermittent alarm sounds.
They eventually found themselves trapped in an abandoned arena.
This place was once the private entertainment venue of a certain governor, but now only broken stands and sand stained with dark red blood remain.
The arena is surrounded by smooth, insurmountable walls.
The only exit has been sealed off by hundreds of Dark Eldar.
They were desperate!
The consul, accompanied by his personal guards, emerged from the crowd and ascended to the highest point of the stands, looking down upon the two trapped figures like aristocrats enjoying a play.
Run!
He opened his arms and said in an aria-like tone, "Why aren't you running anymore?"
"The Imperial Guard, the Emperor's most loyal protectors, the judges, the executors of the Empire's will, look at yourselves now, how pathetic you are."
The witch spirit beside him let out a cruel laugh.
Nafradaran simply checked the Guardian Spear's energy readings and remaining ammunition silently.
Klaus leaned against a broken stone pillar, panting, his vision beginning to blur.
"Don't be in such a hurry to die."
The consul seemed to have seen through their thoughts.
“Death is a gift to you, but we do not give it lightly.”
He snapped his fingers.
Several bloodthirsty performers pushed a cart loaded with surgical instruments and torture devices out of the crowd.
“We’ll strip you of your golden armor first. The Royal Guard’s Oramit alloy is a very precious material.”
"Then, we'll tie you to the lab table and take your bones off one by one to see how the Emperor's creations differ from ours."
"As for you, old judge."
His gaze shifted to Crowley: "Your time is running out. Soon, you'll be convulsing due to the medication wearing off, your mechanical lungs will stop working, and your heart will fail."
“We will make you watch your companions being dismembered alive in your most painful moments.”
“Record your cries and send them back to Terra to those who betrayed you.”
"This is an extra bonus from the deal with Comoros."
Klaus leaned against the stone pillar and slowly straightened up.
He turned off his helmet communicator and looked at the Imperial Guard beside him.
"Nafradaran".
