"I hate stubborn people." C.C. covered her ears with the blanket and turned away to avoid Lelouch's nagging.
“What a lack of suspense,” Lelouch said, sitting down to tidy up C.C.’s clothes as he did so. “Speaking of which, how were you rescued… how’s your spine? And what was that contract you mentioned back then…”
"Goodnight, Lelouch." C.C. ended their conversation unilaterally.
Chapter 311 Euphemia and Suzaku
Inside the air force transport plane, Cornelia and Summit sat facing each other. This time, Cornelia brought only her personal guard, staff officers, and Summit, a Knight of the Round Table.
At this moment, Summit had already removed his mask. Since only he and Cornelia were in the room, his handsome face and purple eyes were gazing thoughtfully at the clouds outside the window. After an unknown amount of time, Summit took a deep breath and looked at Cornelia, saying, "Sister, this time when I go to Area 11, I want to visit the Ashford family and inquire about Lelouch and Nunnally. I haven't contacted the Ashford family in a long time."
Upon hearing Sammet's words, Cornelia couldn't help but recall the scene when Sammet questioned her when she was young, and she couldn't help but apologize, saying, "I'm sorry, I failed to protect Princess Marian."
Summit smiled slightly and said, "No need to apologize. Mother's death was not an accident, so it's not your fault. Right now, the only people I want to see are Lelouch and Nunnally. Duke Ashford told me before that Lelouch and Nunnally were still alive, but they have been living a normal life in Area 11 under assumed names."
Cornelia immediately asked excitedly, "Really? Can I go see them?"
Sammit looked troubled and said, "Sister, you seem to have forgotten your current identity. If a princess like you visits a brother and sister, you might accidentally expose Lelouch and Nunnally's true identities!"
Upon hearing this, Cornelia immediately retorted with some displeasure, "You're one to talk! Aren't you also the Empire's Second Knight? Wouldn't you attract attention if you went to see them?"
Summit's handsome face revealed a smug expression as he said, "It seems that my royal sister has forgotten that I have been wearing this mask ever since I became a Knight of the Round Table."
Cornelia asked doubtfully, "So what?"
Samit chuckled as he ran his right hand across his face. “So, all I need to do is give you a fake identity in the army, since not many people know what I really look like anyway. To outsiders, I’m still a Knight of the Round Table, but once I take off my mask, I’m just an ordinary soldier in your army.”
Cornelia immediately crossed her arms and, with the air of a little girl, said, "Then... why should I help you?"
Seeing Cornelia like this, Samit smiled and put his face close to Cornelia's face, and whispered in her ear: "Because you are the Cornelia Royal who likes me the most!" He blew on Cornelia's earlobe, making Cornelia blush. If she knew what Samit was thinking, she would beat him up angrily. Unexpectedly, Samit actually used a 'honey trap' on her.
Cornelia, blushing, felt a little uncomfortable under Summit's gaze, so she asked through the communicator, "How much longer until we reach Area 11?"
"Your Highness, there are still 4 hours left."
………………11th District, Shinjuku Concentration Camp………………
Led by Suzaku Kururugi, Euphemia arrived in this former 'luxury' city of Japan. In the twilight, Suzaku and Euphemia walked slowly through the chaotic streets. Suzaku hadn't wanted to bring Euphemia here, because of the ruins. Photos of the deceased were pasted on the crumbling ruins; steel pipes and stone pillars served as tombstones, adorned with veils. The evening air was thick with sorrow; Shinjuku, bathed in the setting sun, seemed to be silently mourning. Suzaku and Euphemia remained silent after seeing all this.
“Shinjuku Concentration Camp is finished. Although people have finally started returning, but…” Suzaku sighed helplessly, looking at the dilapidated and desolate Shinjuku Concentration Camp. Euphemia didn't speak, but stood quietly beside Suzaku, listening intently. A gentle evening breeze ruffled Euphemia's hair, and the setting sun cast a golden glow over the camp. This tranquil harmony was soon broken by the commotion of passing British students.
"Here...here..."
"So, I didn't need to use RG to deal with Eleven after all. Hey, there are bullet holes from Humor bullets here, take a picture for me."
"I understand." Hearing the irresponsible conversation behind them, Euphemia and Suzaku immediately turned around and saw two boys, one fat and one thin, dressed in British school uniforms, "exploring" the concentration camp.
"Hey, over here, there's the remains of a statue, come take a picture."
"I understand, it's my turn next."
Watching the British students take photos in front of the statue's ruins like conquerors, the kind-hearted Euphemia frowned deeply, while Suzaku clenched his fists in resentment, gritting his teeth and turning his face away.
....................................
"Is it true, ZERO's intelligence?" Jeremiah, piloting the Sutherland, sped towards the suspicious area mentioned in the intelligence report at top speed.
"Yes, it was a message from Lord Kiville."
"Very good, set up a cordon in Zone 4 of the Shinjuku concentration camp."
“Understood, Grand Duke (a respectful title for a male member of a monarchical family in Europe).” Closing the communication channel with Lord Jeremy, the intelligence officer said in one breath, “Lord Kivil, the rest is in your hands.” Suddenly, a sharp rapier thrust from behind, pressed against the intelligence officer’s neck.
“Although I would like to make contact with Lord Jeremy, now does not seem to be the time to do so,” Viletta said fiercely, raising her sword.
......................................................
"Get out of here, you British pigs!" Three Japanese men appeared out of nowhere. The leader slapped the fat man's camera to the ground, while the other two surrounded them from both sides, forcing the two British students in front of the statue. It looked like the students were about to get hurt.
"Stay here," Suzaku said to Euphemia immediately after witnessing what had happened, and then rushed forward.
"What are you doing, you mere Eleven..." the fat man cursed, trying to sound brave.
"He's Japanese, don't call him Eleven." This hit a nerve, and the other person immediately shouted.
"What are you saying? You lost to us, you defeated dogs of a defeated nation!" the skinny guy retorted, but these two students really didn't know their own limitations.
"You British bastard!" The newcomer clenched his fist, ready to teach the British student a lesson.
"Please stop, violence is..." Suzaku intervened in the conflict between the Japanese and the two students.
"Don't get in my way!" The newcomer immediately slapped Zhuque angrily, knocking off Zhuque's sunglasses.
"This guy..."
Are you Suzaku Kururugi?
"Kururugi who killed Clovis?"
"Idiot, it was ZERO who killed him, wasn't it?"
"Tch, this guy is just a slave. What honorary Briton? He's so vain, he's sold out his dignity, his comrades, and his soul. Can you even be considered Japanese? You Briton's lackey!" The man angrily swung his fist and charged at Suzaku, only to be slammed to the ground by Suzaku with a beautiful back throw.
"Please stop! I'm a trained person, and I don't want to harm my comrades anymore..."
"What companions? Let's go." Having suffered a great loss at Suzaku's hands, the newcomer slunk away with his companions.
"You traitor."
"Suzaku, are you alright?" Yuffie ran over from a distance, carrying Suzaku's luggage, and asked.
"What do you mean it's nothing? My Prime-Jit-MX4! It's too slow!" The student whose camera had been knocked away picked up his camera and criticized it without any sense of decency.
"Really, it's just in name only."
"Why let them get away? Just kill them. You've already killed a lot of Elevens anyway."
"Who do you think is supporting you?"
Like a floodgate bursting, Zhuque silently endured the insults and abuse. However, Zhuque did not expect that the seemingly weak girl would suddenly lose her temper, walk up to the fat man, and give him a resounding slap without any mercy.
"I won't allow you to insult this person again!" Suzaku clearly heard Euphemia's anger and saw Euphemia's long pink hair gently swaying.
“Euphrates…” Suzaku murmured to himself.
Chapter 312 Euphemia and Cornelia's Opinions
As Summit and Cornelia disembarked from the transport plane, Euphemia and the officials of District 11 were all lined up to welcome them. Everyone was taken aback when they saw Summit behind Cornelia; they hadn't expected His Majesty the Emperor's knight to come along, especially the Second Knight. Now, these officials were starting to worry about their careers.
Through the Air Force's channels, Cornelia, who was on the plane, had learned everything that had happened a few hours earlier. Although she was very worried about Euphemia, Cornelia did not show it too obviously. Instead, she said in a calm tone, "I've heard about it, Euphemia. Don't do anything too reckless."
Yuffie immediately said apologetically, "I'm so sorry, sister, but..."
Cornelia, always mindful of separating public and private matters, immediately said, "Here, I'll address you as Governor, and Euphemia as Vice Governor. Since we're sisters, it's even more important to maintain a clear distinction!" She then turned to the official beside her and asked, "So, how are the preparations going?"
"Yes, the government is ready to welcome Her Highness the Princess..." the Finance Minister of District 11 replied obsequiously, but Cornelia, unimpressed, pointed a gun at his head and said angrily, "Becoming ignorant, confused, and depraved, what's wrong with ZERO? Arrest the enemy of the Empire's subjects and bring him to justice, ZERO!"
Inside the governor's office, at Cornelia's command, only Euphemia, Cornelia, and Summit remained in the room.
Cornelia looked at Euphemia standing in front of her and pointed to Summit standing behind her, saying, "Vice Governor Euphemia, let me introduce you. This is General Summit Ashford, who is also the Second Knight of the Empire."
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Princess Euphemia,” Samit said, giving a standard knightly salute.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, General Summit.” Yuffie replied with a serious expression and impeccable manner, his every word and action perfectly appropriate.
Seeing Euphemia like this, Cornelia couldn't help but smile with relief. Then, she suddenly hugged Euphemia and said with a smile, "Let your older sister see how much weight my little Euphemia has gained recently." As she spoke, she began to touch Euphemia through her white dress, showing none of the demeanor expected of a princess.
Seeing her elder sister treat her like this in front of outsiders, Euphemia's face immediately turned red. While trying to stop Cornelia from touching her, she said, "Sister, what are you doing? Don't touch me there, it's so itchy... Haha... Don't do this, sister, General Summit is still here."
Hearing Euphemia's words, Cornelia stopped her mischievous hands, put her arm around the blushing Euphemia, and said to Summit with a smile, "Aren't you going to take off your mask? How long are you going to keep this a secret?"
"Sister, who is he?" Euphemia asked with a puzzled look after hearing Cornelia's words.
“Long time no see, Euphemia!” Summit said with a smile after taking off his mask.
Upon seeing Summit's face, Euphemia froze, staring at Summit in disbelief. Finally, she broke free from Cornelia's embrace, lifted her skirt, ran quickly to Summit, and jumped into his arms.
"Long time no see, Brother Xiaotian!"
Summit smiled and hugged Yuffie, gently patting her back as he said, "Alright... Yuffie, be good. By the way, my name isn't Tian anymore, it's Summit. Remember not to call me that next time."
"Why, Brother Xiaotian, do you want this name?" Yuffie nestled in Summit's arms for a while before raising her flushed face to ask.
“Because I am no longer a prince of Britain, but a knight of His Majesty the Emperor,” Sammet said, putting Euphemia down from his arms.
Upon hearing Sammet's words, Euphemia asked in a puzzled tone, "Sister and little... Sammet, are you both here to capture the murderer who killed Brother Clovis?"
Cornelia, hearing Euphemia's question, gently stroked her long pink hair and said, "What are you talking about? Euphemia, we must avenge Clovis. Even if we have to search the entire District 11, I will find ZERO."
"But... Sister, there are so many people in Area 11. If you really want to do this..."
“No need to say more, Euphemia. My sister only means to kill that masked Zero. As long as the others cooperate, they will be fine,” Summit hurriedly interjected, leaving Lelouch a way out.
Hearing Cornelia and Summit say this, Euphemia simply nodded and said, "I understand."
Sammit, seeing Euphemia nod, immediately chuckled and tapped her on the head, saying, "I already know about your situation. You actually barged into Knightmare's battle! You've got some nerve! If anything happened to you, I think my elder sister would wipe out all those pedantic purebloods. Internal strife is one thing, but dragging our lovely little sister into it is another. By the way, who was that boy who saved you? The records say he's just a private first class, and an honorary Britannian at that. And Mr. Lloyd is really something, actually asking him to pilot the guide weapon 'Lancelot'."
"You mean... Suzaku Kururugi, right? I don't know him very well either, but I'm sure... he's a very kind person." Euphemia blushed and covered her head where she had been hit, speaking slowly after Summit's action.
"So what is he doing now?"
"It's probably with Mr. Lloyd! But I've already sent him to school, and all the formalities are done. Brother Summit wouldn't do anything to him, would he?" Yuffie said with a joyful expression, as if she had done something good. Then she looked worried and stared at Summit with watery eyes.
Under her gaze, Summit's 'sister complex' kicked in again, and he immediately smiled and pulled Euphemia into his arms, saying with a look of pure bliss, "Euphyea is still as cute as ever!"
Yuffie immediately blushed upon being pulled into Samantha's arms, but didn't struggle, letting Samantha hold her close. Seeing the two embracing, Cornelia immediately became jealous, reaching out to separate them and looking at Yuffie with a feigned 'confusion', asking, "Yuffy, you just said you sent Suzaku Kururugi to school, what's going on?"
"It's like this, sister. Suzaku said he didn't receive a normal education, and I felt sorry for him, so I introduced him to the Ashford Academy study area."
“Haha… Our Yuffie is really nice. How about this! From now on, I’ll use the privileges of the Second Knight to promote him directly to Warrant Officer and make him my first bodyguard. Let him stay in the Technical Department as the pilot of ‘Lancelot’ and help Mr. Lloyd with his experiments.” Summit immediately said with a smile, adding a few ‘halos’ to Suzaku with his ‘skills’.
"Really? That's wonderful! I'll immediately instruct others to relay the orders and draft the appointment letter." Euphemia asked excitedly upon hearing Summit's words, her eyes sparkling as she looked at the smiling Summit. After all, in some ways, a Knight of the Round Table held far more authority in the army than a useless princess.
Cornelia looked at the two staring at each other and immediately asked angrily, "Summit, Euphemia, it seems you haven't forgotten about me, the governor?"
Samit didn't want Cornelia to contradict him, so he immediately smiled and took Cornelia's hand, while holding Euphemia's hand in the other, and said with a smile, "Of course, my royal sister won't be left out, because as long as the three of us are of one mind, there's no problem that can't be solved." As he spoke, he gave Cornelia a wink.
Seeing Summit like this, Cornelia immediately stopped objecting and said with a smile, "Since you put it that way, I, as your older sister, have no reason to object. I support you. By the way, Summit, why don't you go to school to relax too?"
“How can that be? The ZERO issue hasn’t been resolved yet, how can I slack off?” Summit immediately said righteously.
“What do you think, Euphemia?” Cornelia ignored Summit and looked at Euphemia with a smile.
“That’s a good idea,” Yuffie said with a smile.
