Inside the living room, Summit sat in a fine mahogany chair, waiting for Kallen. He held a cup of high-quality black tea, brewed by Fairmont, and sipped it slowly and elegantly. Fairmont, however, had long since left the hall, his whereabouts unknown. Perhaps coincidentally, the maid who brewed the tea for Summit was none other than Kallen's mother. Although Summit immediately suppressed his curiosity about this unfortunate woman, he didn't press the matter. After all, in his memory, Kallen's mother was a very gentle person, and Kallen's surname had now been changed to the more prestigious 'Schönfeldt,' the implications of which were self-evident. (Note: In his restored memories, Summit's understanding of events was based on Lelouch's perspective, so he was unaware of some plot points unrelated to Lelouch.)
Just as Summit was deep in thought, Karen's slightly surprised voice came: "Summit, what are you doing here?"
Bringing himself back to reality, Summit smiled as he looked at Karen who had just walked in and said, "The president asked me to give you some things and explain what happened yesterday."
Upon hearing Summit's words, Karen's expression shifted from surprise to a blush. Just as she was about to speak, a strikingly beautiful woman in a long purple dress walked in. After glancing at Summit, she immediately said in a disdainful tone, "Ah... I guessed it perfectly. You've already brought a boy home, staying out all night and skipping school. It seems you even went to the slums. You're really living a carefree life in this country, sir! Like mother, like daughter!"
Hearing the woman's words, Karen's mother, who was standing next to Summit, involuntarily took a step back, while Karen immediately frowned and said, "With Father not home, you should be the happiest person, right?"
Upon hearing this, the woman immediately frowned, gritted her teeth, and looked at Karen, saying, "You can stay with your little one as long as you want. Once the master returns from his country, I will tell him everything."
Just as Karen was about to have a big argument with the woman, a crisp sound rang out throughout the living room with a "bang!" It was Summit placing his cup on the table; the sound was the one from when he slammed the cup down.
After briefly admiring the quality of the cup, Summit stood up and said with a smile, "The Marquis of von Monte is in the country now! What a coincidence, I was planning to pay him a visit." He shook his head regretfully as he spoke.
Upon hearing Summit's words, Mrs. Vonmont immediately frowned and asked, "Young man, who are you?"
"You brat? Madam, speaking of His Majesty the Emperor's knight like that is punishable!" Summit immediately chuckled, pulling a knight's badge from his breast pocket and twirling it in his hand. The Marquis's wife, recognizing it as a Knight of the Round Table badge, turned pale. Unable to believe it, she mustered her courage and said, "You brat, don't try to scare me with a fake! That's a capital offense! How could His Majesty the Emperor's knight be in a place like this?"
Samit looked at the pale-faced woman and immediately laughed, saying, "Death penalty, how terrible! But I also want to know what fate awaits a woman who has insulted His Majesty's knight. Perhaps it will be even worse than death penalty!" As he spoke, a faint killing intent emanated from Samit's body.
"You...you just wait." The woman felt a chill creeping over her and didn't know what to say for a moment. She could only utter this angrily before turning and walking out.
After the woman left, Summit smiled slightly, put away the badge in his hand, turned around and looked at Karen, who was staring blankly at him, and asked in confusion, "Kalen, what's wrong?" Karen was stunned by Summit's previous remarks and could only stare blankly at him.
Karen, pulled back to reality by Sammit, seemed to have thought of something. Looking at Sammit, she said urgently, "Ah... it's nothing, Sammit, let's talk in my bedroom!" With that, she pulled Sammit toward her bedroom, leaving her mother, who seemed to want to say something, standing in the living room.
"Is this your room, Karen? It certainly doesn't look like a room a young lady should have," Summit said after quickly scanning Karen's room as she was pulled into the bedroom.
"Sam...Samit, tell me, are you...are you really a Knight of the Round Table?" Looking at Samit, who was smiling as he commented on her room, Karen's emotions were in turmoil, and she asked in a very heavy tone.
"What do you think, Karen?" Summit looked at Karen, his smile vanishing, and said calmly.
"You're so amazing, maybe it really is true." Looking at Summit's calm expression, Karen guessed with a heavy heart.
“It’s not uncertain, it’s true. My identity is the Second Knight of the Empire, Summit Ashford, although it’s a false name.” Summit shook his head slightly, then said with a serious expression.
Like a bolt from the blue, Karen swayed slightly, then looked at Summit with disbelief and asked excitedly, "Are you kidding me? Summit, aren't you just a regular lieutenant colonel in the technical department? How did you become a Knight of the Round Table?"
"I'm sorry, Kallen. I've been lying to you all this time because I didn't want Lelouch and Nunnally to know that I'm a ruthless killer. You should understand, right?" Summit said with a hint of helplessness as he looked at the agitated Kallen.
Upon hearing Samit's words, Karen collapsed onto her bed, and for a moment, the two fell silent.
After nearly three minutes of silence, Summit slowly pulled the envelope from his pocket and placed it on the coffee table beside him, saying, "Karen, this is what Mirei asked me to give you. It's your academic record from middle school." He then straightened up, walked to the bedroom door, opened it, and prepared to leave. He paused slightly, turned back to Karen, and said, "Karen, I hope you can keep this a secret!" He then walked out of the bedroom.
As the bedroom door closed, Karen finally couldn't hold back her tears, which dripped down her smooth cheeks onto the sheets. She recalled the days eight years ago when she met Summit. No matter when, Summit always felt so close and gentle to her (probably!). She didn't know when it started, but she had come to love being with Summit; only with him could she forget her unhappy things. Now, the person she loved had suddenly become her enemy. What should she do? Thinking this, Karen lay on the bed, crying, "Brother, teach me, what should I do?"
Chapter 331 Dealing with Kallen
Ever since Summit revealed his identity to Kallen, Kallen has become very depressed. Although she didn't show anything at school, Lelouch, who is ZERO, noticed it. Coupled with Summit's recent dejected appearance, Lelouch concluded that something surprising must have happened between Kallen and his brother. One is his capable subordinate, and the other is his brother. For the first time in his life, Lelouch had a gossipy thought like a woman.
"Brother, lately... has something happened between you and Kallen?" Lelouch couldn't help but ask when only Summit and himself were left in the student council office.
When Summit heard Lelouch ask this, he stopped what he was doing, looked at Lelouch and asked with a smile, "Why did you suddenly ask this question, Lelouch?"
“Because lately… Brother and Kallen have both seemed preoccupied. Has something happened?” Lelouch asked with a slight smile, his words revealing a hint of concern.
After Lelouch finished speaking, Summit sighed slightly and said slowly in a helpless tone, "Actually... I'm in love with Kallen, but her parents oppose our relationship and are planning to marry Kallen to a count in their country."
"What? You and Kallen?" Lelouch believed Samite's words immediately upon hearing them, and considering the recent ambiguous relationship between Kallen and Samite, and exclaimed in surprise.
But that wasn't all. After a pause, Summit continued, "But... Karen is pregnant, although only a month along, but..."
"Ah...what? Brother, you...you're joking, right?" Lelouch immediately jumped up from his chair, looking surprised and speaking in an incredulous tone.
Seeing Lelouch like this, Summit's expression turned very 'sad', and he slowly said, "Although it was just a momentary impulse on our part... Lelouch, my heart is really in turmoil."
Seeing Summit like this, Lelouch couldn't even believe he was his 'brother'. He was speechless for a moment, his heart churning. He never imagined that Kallen, whom he had been using, was actually his brother's lover, and that she was pregnant. Although she hadn't been born yet, she was one of his only remaining family members in the world. If anything happened to her, given his brother's fiercely protective nature, he, Zero, would surely be dragged out and torn to pieces. It seemed he couldn't let Kallen do any more dangerous missions lately. But this Kallen was really foolish; her lover was British, so why did she still want to be a terrorist?
Seeing Lelouch's unpredictable expression, Summit almost burst into laughter, clutching his stomach, but his expression remained unchanged as he said in a helpless tone, "Lelouch, perhaps we will have to part again. This time, perhaps we will never see each other again."
The atmosphere in the office suddenly became very heavy. Just then, Kallen pushed open the door and walked in. After glancing at Lelouch, she walked a few steps to Summit and said, "Summit, I have something to tell you. I'll wait for you on the rooftop." After saying that, she turned and walked out of the office under Lelouch's gaze.
"Brother, you..." Lelouch looked at Samite with some concern as he watched Kallen leave.
Summit stood up from his seat, gave Lelouch a reassuring smile, and said, "Don't worry, I'll be right back." With that, he quickly walked out of the room.
When Summit stepped onto the rooftop, the first thing he saw was Karen standing by the railing. Summit quickly walked over and stood beside her. After a slight pause, he began, "Kalen, I'm sorry, actually I..." Before he could finish, Karen embraced him tightly, and she said in a tearful voice, "Why... why did you tell me all this? Why didn't you just keep lying? That way, even if I died by your hand, I wouldn't be in so much pain. But now... Waaah!" Before Karen could finish speaking, Summit stopped her. He cupped Karen's beautiful yet haggard face in one hand, wrapped the other around her slender yet strong waist, and pressed his lips tightly against Karen's.
After the kiss ended, Summit gently wiped away Karen's tears and chuckled as he comforted her, "Silly girl, what nonsense are you talking about! How could I kill you? Although my hands are stained with the blood of countless people, it is all the blood of my enemies."
“What if I were your enemy?” Karen, though she enjoyed being cared for by Summit, still looked at Summit and asked in a questioning tone.
“As long as it’s Karen, even if she’s my enemy, I won’t…” Samit said with a smile as he looked at Karen.
“What if it’s an enemy you have to kill?” Karen asked somewhat persistently.
“In that case, I would choose to die at Karen’s hands,” Samit said with a calm smile.
Hearing Summit's words, Karen was stunned, staring blankly at Summit's calm smile. For some reason, Karen felt a secret joy in her heart. But at this moment, Summit revealed an unwilling expression and said, "Although I'm a little unwilling to be killed by someone weaker than myself, what can I do when my opponent is you!"
Hearing Samite's words, Kallen couldn't help but show an angry expression and said, "What do you mean? Even if you are the Second Knight, I am not someone to be bullied. I am... I am Red Moon Kallen!" Kallen realized that she had almost let something slip and quickly corrected herself.
Seeing Karen's angry expression, Summit knew she was no longer confused, and immediately said with a smile, "Red Moon Karen! To me, she's just a crazy girl who's not cute at all, she doesn't have any girlish qualities."
"Who are you calling lacking any girlish qualities?" Karen immediately clenched her fist and asked, throwing a punch as she spoke.
Summit nimbly took a step back, creating some distance, and grabbed Karen's fist, saying, "Look, I only said a few words to you, and you started hitting me. What can I say?"
Karen stammered, not expecting Summit to say such a thing. She immediately asked, somewhat defiantly, "You... then why did you kiss me just now?" After saying it, Karen couldn't help but blush.
Summit pulled Karen into his arms and smiled slightly, saying, "Because I love you just the way you are!" He then kissed her again.
...Summit's room
CC, who had just emerged from the bathroom, was only wrapped in a towel that barely covered her breasts. Her perfectly proportioned figure, delicate collarbones, slender arms and legs, and smooth, flawless skin—enviable to other women—were all exposed to Summit's eyes. Having just finished showering, CC appeared even more radiant than usual, leaving Summit speechless. CC completely ignored Summit's gaze, walking straight to the bedside and covering herself entirely with the blanket. Looking at Summit with a smile, she asked, "Aren't you going to keep your little one company? You've got guts; you even have a child."
"CC, what are you talking about?" Summit asked with a slight smile as he walked to CC's side.
"How dare you say that? I heard it from Lelouch. I misjudged you," C.C. said angrily to Summit.
"You mean that? That was just a joke between Lelouch and me, you didn't actually take it seriously, did you?" Summit asked with a surprised expression, looking at C.C. who was clearly jealous.
“Of course I know you’re lying, but it also shows that you’re interested in that girl,” CC said, rolling her eyes at Summit.
“Hehe…I admit it.” Summit nodded frankly.
"You dare admit it? Fine, you're not getting into my bed this week." CC said harshly as soon as Summit admitted it.
Upon hearing this, Summit immediately adopted a dejected look and slowly walked into the bathroom. When he came out, he climbed onto the bed naked, quickly conquering the beauty's two breasts, and then whispered with a smile in CC's indignant ear, "I'm on my own bed, you know!"
Chapter 332 Before the Battle of Naritasan
A few nights later, to avoid being discovered by Summit, Lelouch had already moved his office to the school's swimming pool. As the Black Knights' influence grew, so did the number of applicants. To Lelouch's surprise, the list of applicants included a Briton: Deihart Litt, a seasoned journalist and graduate of the Faculty of Law at the Central University of the British Empire. "Too blatant for a spy, perhaps... a zealot?" Lelouch sneered. This man intrigued him. Deihart, working in journalism, seemed to have the potential to be an intelligence agent. Even if he were a spy, Lelouch could use him to pass false information to the British intelligence system.
CC, who was swimming in the pool, lay on the surface of the water in a backstroke position and said with a smile, "That's great, the number of people applying to join the group has increased."
"It's simpler than I expected. Although most Elevens despise British rule, they don't approve of terrorism." Lelouch glanced at C.C. without lingering before turning to the computer screen and said. British rule was indeed abhorrent, but compared to his own life, resisting a superpower like Britain was nothing short of suicide.
CC: "That means most Eleven members will support the Black Knights."
Lelouch: "Thanks to them, the group's operations have become much easier. The fact that the public isn't tipping off the government is a huge help. The Kyoto-based group is even willing to hand over Knightmare to us. The intelligence we're providing is also increasing. The Japanese are easily swayed by the herd mentality. If we just give them a reason they can justify it..."
CC: "You're only pretending to be a 'messenger of justice' for this reason, aren't you?"
Lelouch immediately revealed a smug smile and said, "Doesn't everyone like the 'Messenger of Justice'?"
Looking at Lelouch like that, CC couldn't help but laugh and say, "Your expression doesn't look like that of a 'messenger of justice'."
"is it?"
——————————TV station, Diharut's office————————
"I'm a demoted person, just like you." Dihart had already been demoted for reporting news related to ZERO, so he was puzzled by the former Pureblood officer's visit. Could it be that his application to join the Black Knights had been discovered by intelligence?
“That’s precisely why we need your help. We don’t intend to end this here, and neither do you!” Viletta said immediately. Jeremiah was ridiculed by the world because of the ORANGE incident. Although he was later appointed as a member of Summit’s personal guard, Cornelia’s message to him through Guilford made him realize that his career was over. But at this moment, his former confidante Viletta told him some shocking news. For the sake of his future career, he accompanied Viletta to Deeharut.
"Yeah, I guess so!" Dihart said somewhat perfunctorily.
"I've found a clue about Zero!" Jeremiah exclaimed excitedly, his words filled with resentment.
“The private Ashford Academy wants you to investigate the boys there; they might be ZERO’s accomplices,” Viletta continued, picking up where Jeremiah left off.
“We have to rush to Narita Reach for military business, and during this period…” Jeremiah interjected.
"Narita, isn't that supposed to be the headquarters of the Japanese Liberation Front?" Dihart asked, somewhat surprised.
"Being too perceptive is also a problem," Jeremiah said casually to the surprised Deehart before taking his leave.
————————Governor's Office————————
"Sammet, why are you back?" Cornelia asked, somewhat surprised, as Sammet walked in.
“I came back because I heard that His Highness the Governor was going to wipe out the terrorists in the Naritasan area tomorrow,” Summit said with a slight smile to Euphemia, who was standing next to Cornelia.
"Who told you?" Cornelia was furious that Summit had found out about the military secrets she had tried so hard to hide.
Sammit glanced at Cornelia, then at Euphemia, who placed her hand on her chest and gave a slight bow, saying, "Your Highness, although they are just a group of terrorists, the Japanese Liberation Front is still the largest resistance organization in Area 11, so as a Knight of the Round Table, I must be present!"
“Euphoria!” With Cornelia’s shrewdness, after seeing Samit’s previous gaze, she knew that it was her precious younger sister who had leaked the secret, and couldn’t help but cast a reproachful look at Euphemia.
"I'm sorry, Your Highness the Governor!" Euphemia said, her head bowed, looking somewhat troubled. In front of outsiders, Euphemia always addressed Cornelia as 'Governor' as instructed.
"Sigh! Guilford, Dalton, you may leave now!" Cornelia said with a slight sigh.
"Yes, Your Highness!"
After Guilford and Dalton left, Summit smiled and said, "Sister, I must go to the front lines this time, otherwise I can no longer be called a knight."
"Samit, don't compare me to those ordinary women." Knowing that both of them were thinking of her, Cornelia couldn't help but say this so that Samit wouldn't look down on her.
Hearing Cornelia's seemingly complaining words, Samit couldn't help but reveal a playful smile and said, "I know, but... in my eyes, my elder sister is just a weak woman who needs protection."
Hearing Summit's words, Cornelia blushed slightly, then quickly recovered and said, "Whatever you want, just don't steal credit from my subordinates!"
"no problem!"
………………………………The open-air garden on the rooftop of the Governor's Palace
Summit was lying comfortably on the lawn, his head resting on Yuffie's. Looking at Summit with her head on his, Yuffie couldn't help but recall their kiss, and murmured, "Summit, brother..."
"Is something the matter, Euphemia?" Summit, with its sharp ears, sat up after hearing Euphemia's voice and asked her.
"Ah...it's nothing!" Yuffie hurriedly shook her head and said, her little face turning bright red.
