Summit didn't care about any of that; he had to get to the scene of the incident. He didn't want anything to happen to Lelouch. Just then, Vincent's preparations were complete, so Summit jumped on Vincent and sped out of the hangar at full power.
Chapter 357 Karen's Identity Revealed
Inside Vincent's cockpit, after a short, full-speed run, Summit had become familiar with Vincent's performance, which was indeed slightly inferior to Lancelot's. However, the Vincent brought Summit a small surprise: it was equipped with a λ-Drive system. In fact, after witnessing the power of the λ-Drive system, Lloyd had begun researching it and attempting to install it on Vincent. However, after a period of tireless research, Lloyd had to abandon the idea; the λ-Drive system demanded too much from the user and couldn't be used casually. But, clinging to a sliver of hope that someone other than Summit could use the λ-Drive system properly, Lloyd didn't remove it.
Just as Summit arrived at Suzaku's location, the first wave of air-to-ground missiles struck. Under Toudou's command, the Black Knights immediately deployed anti-air skirmish lines to counter the British missile attack. Meanwhile, Kallen, worried about Zero's safety, jumped into the jamming zone in her Guren II. The Guren II, which used the same propulsion system as Lancelot, immediately ceased operation and came to a stop. Kallen had no choice but to jump off the Guren II and run towards Lancelot, hoping to use her identity to attract Suzaku's attention and buy Zero a chance to survive.
Seeing Kallen jump from her KnightMare, Summit inwardly scolded her for her impulsiveness. He immediately raised his transformable VARIS, switched to sniper mode, activated Vincent's λ-Drive system, aimed at the air-to-ground missiles in the sky, and pressed the switch. In an instant, the muzzle of the VARIS vibrated violently, the gun shattering under the strain. A pale blue beam shot from the muzzle, forming a blue hurricane that detonated all the missiles in the air, eliciting gasps from the Black Knights. After firing the shot, Vincent threw the VARIS, which exploded in mid-air.
Just when the Black Knights thought the crisis was over, Schneizel's flagship, Avalon, appeared in the sky. True to its name, it made a striking entrance, its massive hull instilling a powerful sense of awe and oppression in the Black Knights. At Schneizel's command, Avalon opened its hatch, revealing the silhouette of a tall, black KnightMare. With a flash of red light, the shoulder-mounted hadron cannons immediately fired in Lancelot's direction.
Without hesitation, Summit activated his energy shield and piloted Vincent into the sandpit, intending to rescue Karen, who was exposed to the artillery fire. But in that instant, Summit suddenly felt a strange sensation in his head, his eyes flashing red and displaying a 'V' symbol. Before Summit could even understand his condition, the machine vibrated violently. Knowing he had been hit, Summit immediately maximized the shield's output, determined to protect Karen at all costs. As the machine shook, Qin Yu vaguely saw countless images flash through his mind, and a sharp pain instantly overwhelmed him. Caught off guard, Summit roared and then fainted.
....................................
On Kageshima Island, dozens of nautical miles away from Shikine Island (sorry, it was mistakenly called 'Kageshima Island' in the previous chapter!), the unconscious Summit lay on the beach, half of his body submerged in the seawater, swaying slightly with the waves. Summit slowly opened his eyes and found himself seeing a clear blue sky, with a gentle breeze carrying the scent of the sea blowing towards him. In this unfamiliar environment, Summit immediately sat up and looked around, but as soon as he moved, he felt a terrible headache, and jumbled images kept flashing through his mind. Summit hurriedly clutched his head until he was completely calm and the headache subsided, then slowly stood up and walked into the forest. He didn't think he could find any drinkable water on the beach.
Perhaps it was good luck, but in less than an hour, Summit actually found a water source, and it was even a small waterfall. Summit, who was about 100 meters away from the waterfall, quickened his pace after hearing the sound of the waterfall. But when he pushed aside the bushes in front of him and walked to the front of the waterfall, a picture of a beautiful woman bathing appeared in front of him. It was Karen, who had also been stranded on the island. At this moment, Karen was standing under the small waterfall with a smile on her face, letting the clear spring water pour over her body.
"Karen." Summit immediately emerged from the bushes, calling out happily to Karen, and quickly walked towards her, saying with a smile, "Karen, it's so good that you're alright."
Seeing Summit rapidly approaching her, Karen froze for a moment. Instinctively, she covered her most private parts with her hands, but she stood frozen in place, forgetting that her clothes were right beside her. As Summit slowly drew closer, Karen found herself in a dilemma. She had always believed that Summit didn't know she was a member of the Black Knights. She didn't know whether she should go to retrieve her clothes, because what she was wearing was far too obvious. Suddenly, when Summit was just two meters away, he clutched his head and screamed in pain, then lunged at her, shoving her into the foot-deep stream.
When Karen thought Summit would grab her, she found him burying his face between her legs, making her blush with anger and embarrassment. However, Summit remained motionless after pinning her down; he had already passed out, and his face showed occasional expressions of pain. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Karen quickly helped Summit up and placed him on a large rock by the stream. She then swiftly donned her red driving suit and began checking Summit's injuries. After examining him thoroughly, Karen found only a few negligible abrasions; there were no other injuries.
"What exactly happened?" Looking at Samit's obvious injuries, Kallen was at a loss for what to do. Just then, an unexpected guest appeared—it was Suzaku, who was searching for water.
"Karen, could it be..." Suzaku was stunned when he saw Karen wearing a pilot's suit. Then, thinking about why he was on this island, he realized he was not stupid and had guessed the general idea. However, because of the angle, he did not see Summit lying behind the boulder.
Upon seeing Suzaku, Karen realized that Summit's current state was inextricably linked to Suzaku's kidnapping of ZERO, and felt extremely angry. She picked up the uniform of the Black Knights next to the boulder, took out her pink wallet, flicked out the blade inside, and charged towards Suzaku.
Upon seeing the black top in Kallen's hand, Suzaku was initially taken aback, but his movements were swift. He deflected Kallen's knife-wielding right hand with his right, then shifted his foot to block Kallen's outstretched left leg, tripping her to the ground. He then pressed down on Kallen's hands, looking at her with an agitated expression, and said, "Kallen... Kallen Schuttenfeld, you..."
"Don't call me by that name. I am Kallen Kurenai, and I am Japanese..."
"So you really are..."
“I am a member of the Black Knights, and there’s no need to hide it now.” Knowing that Samit already knew about her other identity, Karen decided to go all out.
A hint of reluctance flashed across Suzaku's face. He gritted his teeth and said, "Then, Karen Red Moon, I'm arresting you for treason against Britain." As he spoke, he freed one hand and pulled a long handkerchief from his pocket, preparing to tie Karen up first before making further plans.
Just then, a weak voice came from behind a boulder not far away: "Stop, Major Suzaku, release Karen."
Looking in the direction of the sound, Samit, pale-faced, was sitting on a boulder looking this way. Judging from his furrowed brows, he seemed to be desperately enduring physical pain.
"Yes." When Suzaku heard the major's rank, he knew that Summit was serious, so he immediately let go of Karen and stood up.
Kallen, now free, offered no further resistance, simply sitting there with her head down, her expression utterly dejected. Looking at Kallen like this, Summit's pale, handsome face flashed a slight smile as he said, "Kallen, Crimson Moon Kallen, as ZERO's ace, the pilot of Crimson Lotus II, and the captain of the Zero Division of the Royal Guard, why are you so downcast?"
"What?" Suzaku exclaimed in surprise when he heard Summit use such a long title.
“Samit…Samit, how do you know all this?” Karen asked in surprise, looking at the smiling Samit.
“It’s intuition, or perhaps it’s my understanding of you!” Summit said softly, his eyes slightly closed.
"What do you mean?" Karen asked, puzzled.
“Let me be frank! I knew your true identity the day after we recognized each other, and I’ve been keeping an eye on you ever since. To me, you’re not an enemy, just my lovely little sister… no, now she’s my girlfriend.” Summit’s lips curled slightly as he spoke.
"Ah!" Karen was both surprised and delighted to hear Summit's words. She was surprised that Summit knew so much, and delighted that Summit had admitted to being her girlfriend under these circumstances.
Seeing Karen bowing her head and remaining silent, Summit looked up at Suzaku and said, "Suzaku, let's pretend that today's events never happened. Karen's presence here was just a coincidence."
“Yes, my load.” Suzaku immediately bowed respectfully.
"That's good." Seeing Suzaku agree, Samit's face showed a relieved smile, and then he collapsed to the ground.
Chapter 358 Who am I?
As night fell, two bonfires were lit on the beach, one on the north side of the island and the other on the south. A man sat beside the southern bonfire, dressed as Lelouch (ZERO), while three others sat beside the other: Kallen, Summit, and Suzaku. Summit had awakened from his unconscious state and was happily devouring a skewer of golden-brown, mouthwatering fish.
Summit put down the fish bones in his hand, looked at the starry sky that was hard to see in the city, and said with a satisfied expression, "I'm full. It was so delicious. I ate too much without realizing it."
"That's great, Summit, are you feeling better?" Suzaku asked with a happy expression after hearing Summit's words.
Upon hearing Suzaku's question, Karen, sitting next to Summit, immediately looked at him with concern. Summit simply smiled wryly and said, "I don't know either. There seems to be something special on this island affecting me. But it's alright, apart from a slight headache, there haven't been any adverse effects."
"Are you really alright?" Karen asked worriedly.
"Hmm." Summit smiled slightly and nodded affirmatively, then closed his eyes and began to meditate, as this would reduce the pain in his head.
On the other side, aboard Avalon, which was parked in the jungle of Kameng Island, Schneizel looked at Euphemia sitting beside him with a worried and disappointed expression, and then at Lloyd and Barrett standing beside him. He gave a mysterious smile and said, "If Summit and Suzaku were still alive, they would have drifted to Kameng Island by now."
"Is this true, brother?" Upon hearing this, Yuffie snapped out of her previous disappointment and looked at Schneizel with delight.
“Yes, based on the ocean currents and monsoons, this should be the place.” Schneizel nodded with a smile, propping his handsome face up with his hand as he analyzed the situation calmly.
"Then... quickly send out the search team." Upon hearing Schneizel's words, Euphemia hurriedly ordered Barrett, who was standing next to Schneizel.
"Don't rush, Euphemia. The troops can't conduct an effective search at this time. Let's wait until tomorrow morning." Schneizel smiled and advised Euphemia, seeing her anxious expression.
"Alright then!" Euphemia nodded helplessly when she heard Schneizel say that, knowing that rushing things wouldn't solve anything, so she decided to listen to Schneizel.
....................................
The dawn sunlight filtered through the dense foliage into the forest, quickly dissipating the lingering mist. Birdsong echoed through the thick leaves. Along the rugged path, Summit, supported by Suzaku, walked with Karen towards the center of Kagenoshima Island. Karen, looking at the surrounding scenery, asked as they walked, "Suzaku, did you really see the lights?"
"Yes, it should be a search team. As long as we get there, that's fine. Then, Karen can find a chance to contact her partners to come and rescue us." Suzaku nodded and looked at the mountain road ahead.
On the other side, Lelouch looked at the mountain road ahead and thought to himself, "The lights I saw last night must have been the search team. If I can find them, I can leave this place." Thinking of how weak he had been, Lelouch immediately mustered up some strength and continued walking in the direction he had estimated.
Outside a cave on Shengen Island, several enhanced Sunderland Groslots and dozens of fully armed soldiers were arrayed in a fan formation. Thick cables, about the thickness of a wrist, stretched from the power engines into the cave. Inside, Lloyd, looking down at the data on his computer and gazing at the gate to the ruins before him, chuckled and said, "Think about the elevator, huh? Archaeology isn't my forte, especially something like this with butterflies… it's too far removed from my expertise… I'll leave this to Cecil."
“Don’t be so reluctant. Father seems to be quite fascinated by these things too. Isn’t that right, Barrett?” Schneizel said immediately with a smile.
“Yes, the same thing has been found in several places around the world. Except for the place I found, all of them have been designated as royal forbidden areas. Although this is just speculation, it is possible that the invasion plans of various countries are targeting these places.” The obese General Barrett hurriedly straightened up and pointed to the ruins in front of him.
Upon hearing this, Lloyd's face lit up with interest as he said, "To analyze these mysterious realms, you're using Gawain's Druid system (a system Lloyd designed by imitating the λ-Drive system)? It's still an unadjusted prototype."
"That's why I called you here," Schneizel said immediately with a smile.
…………
On the flat ground directly above the cave where the gate to the ruins is located, Lelouch, wearing a mask, encountered Summit and the others. Before Suzaku could push Summit off his shoulder and deliver a swift blow to Lelouch, Lelouch had already drawn his pistol and pointed it at the three of them, shouting, "Don't move!"
“ZERO.” Looking at ZERO pointing a gun at him, Suzaku said with a frown as he helped him up.
"Kallen, come here quickly." Lelouch looked at Kallen standing beside the two and knew that Kallen's identity had been exposed. However, since Kallen was not tied up or restrained at this time, he guessed that the two would not do anything to Kallen. In order not to arouse Suzaku's suspicion, who did not yet know his identity, he hurriedly said to Kallen.
"Ah... um." After a slight hesitation, Kallen quickly walked to Lelouch's side.
Just then, the ground shook, and the ground beneath their feet began to sink. Then, just as the story had predicted, Lelouch and Kallen seized the Gawain, which was still activating, and escaped through the hole. Using the Gawain's levitation system, they evaded the pursuing Gloucesters on the ground. As Lelouch and the others disappeared from Schneizel's sight, a piercing scream rang out. Summit was standing before the ruins, clutching his head, his handsome face contorted in agony, a faint red glow emanating from his eyes.
"Stop...stop!" Unable to bear it any longer, Summit relentlessly pounded on the red-glowing gate of the ruins, sending up large shards of stone and producing a series of loud thuds. With Summit's seemingly frenzied actions, the red light of the gate gradually faded, and Summit, as if exhausted, knelt on the ground, motionless for a long time.
Lloyd and Summit were close friends, so Lloyd rushed up to the platform and asked Summit, "How are you, Summit?" As Lloyd called out, Summit slowly turned his face. Lloyd involuntarily took a step back. Schneizel, who was standing below the platform, also looked at Summit as Lloyd did, and then his expression suddenly changed.
Two streams of bloody tears flowed from Summit's eyes, the red tear tracks starkly against his pale skin. Worse still, Summit looked at Lloyd and murmured, "Who...am I?"
Chapter 359 Fully Restored Memories
In a strange space, Summit, who was in the void, looked at the incredibly handsome man in front of him and asked in confusion, "Who... are you?"
Upon hearing this, the handsome man involuntarily leaned to the side, looking at Summit with a helpless expression and saying, "No way! It seems there really is a problem with this seal; it doesn't even recognize me anymore."
"Do I know you?" When Samit heard the other person say this, he felt that the other person was very familiar, and he also felt an instinctive sense of awe and submission.
“There’s no other way.” The handsome man shook his head helplessly, then appeared in a flash, reaching out to press down on Summit’s head. Summit tried to resist, but his body was beyond his control, unable to move an inch. The handsome man looked at Summit’s expression and smiled slightly. Now, Summit had no privacy whatsoever in front of him. He simply touched Summit’s forehead lightly with his finger, and Summit slowly closed his eyes, falling unconscious.
About five minutes later, Summit's surroundings emitted a faint golden light, and his appearance began to change rapidly. After several transformations, he became a young man who could be considered handsome. His hair, which had just reached his ears, grew to his waist and was casually draped behind his head. Opening his eyes, his purple pupils turned into deep black. Summit... or rather, Heaven, upon reopening his eyes and seeing Void standing before him with his hands behind his back, immediately said angrily, "Void, I demand an explanation! Didn't I ask you to seal my memories and emotions? Why has it turned out like this?"
Looking at the Heavenly being who was practically one of his own kind, Xu Kong smiled slightly, shrugged, and lied, "I sealed your memories and emotions! But other people's memories and emotions weren't sealed! Because you don't have your past memories, you can't stop yourself from developing new emotions and loving others. Plus, there's a force in this world that damaged your seal... well, interfered, so your seal has a small problem. My seal, on the other hand, has absolutely no problems."
Void's lies were half true and half false. Having regained her memories, Tian recalled the time she signed the contract with CC and believed Void's lies. Helpless, she could only ask, "What should I do now, Void?"
"You shouldn't be asking me this question. As a member of the Super God race, I've almost forgotten what it feels like. It's better to just stay the same as in the previous worlds. Your power is growing rapidly. I believe it won't be long before you have the ability to travel through countless spaces. At that time, you can bring your little ones back to your side."
"That's true, but I really don't want everyone who loves me to suffer this pain of unrequited love every time. Never mind, you wouldn't understand even if I told you," Tian said with a wry smile, shaking his head at the void.
Xu Kong smiled slightly and snapped his fingers. In the previously empty space besides the two of them, a magnificent golden temple appeared out of thin air, floating in the air just like the temple in Dragon Ball. "Let's go inside and talk! I don't really like the scenery here."
"This is... why didn't you take it out before?"
"Ah... I forgot I even had something like this."
"Ugh, I give up. Now I'm starting to doubt whether what you said before was true."
"Well... don't worry about it."
"Now I'm even more suspicious."
..............................
Inside the Governor's Mansion, Summit lay unconscious on a bed in the intensive care unit. Euphemia, dressed in a white low-cut evening gown, sat quietly beside the bed. Her face showed her exhaustion; the past two days had been utterly terrible. First, Summit had remained unconscious ever since Schneizel brought him back from Kageyama Island. Second, Suzaku was suspected of deliberately disobeying orders and releasing Zero. Although Schneizel hadn't blamed Suzaku, Suzaku had asked Euphemia to relinquish his knighthood.
"Brother Summit, tell Yuffie what to do?" Yuffie asked Summit with a worried expression.
Just then, Cecil, dressed in military uniform, walked in. She walked quietly to Euphemia and looked down at the exhausted Euphemia, saying, "Euphemia, you must be tired too. You should go back and rest."
“Miss Cecil, I’m fine. I want to wait until Brother Summit wakes up,” Yuffie said stubbornly, looking up at Cecil with a slight smile.
Hearing Yuffie say this, Cecil sighed slightly and looked at Summit, who was lying on the hospital bed and had been unconscious for a whole day and night. Thinking of what Lloyd had told him, he said apologetically, "It's all my fault. If Mr. Lloyd and I hadn't disassembled the parts of the Fallen Angel, the Fallen Angel would not have been injured by that attack, given its performance."
Hearing Cecil's words, Euphemia fell silent, unsure of what to say. Just then, Summit, lying on the bed, suddenly let out a groan and opened his eyes.
"Brother Summit, you're finally awake!" Upon seeing Summit wake up, Yuffie immediately rushed over to him with joy, her eyes filled with tears of happiness.
"Hmm... Euphemia? You are Euphemia Li Britannia." Samit, who had just woken up, looked at Euphemia lying on him with a joyful expression and tears in her eyes, and said in a surprised tone.
Unaware of the change in Summit's tone, Euphemia immediately nodded happily and said, "Yes, Brother Summit."
“Summit? Me? Summit Ashford.” Summit repeated in a puzzled tone when Euphemia called him that.
Noticing Summit's unusual behavior, Cecil, who was standing to the side, immediately asked, "Summit, is something wrong?" After asking, Cecil then remembered that Lloyd had said Summit might have amnesia after waking up.
Upon hearing Cecil's question, Summit turned to Cecil and spoke in the same tone as before, "Cecil, Cecil Colmi." Then, with an expression as if he had just remembered, he nodded and replied, "Yes, I'm fine."
Cecil immediately looked annoyed and said with a smile, "Looks like you've recovered very well, Summit."
Summit looked at Cecil's smile and felt a chill run down his spine. He looked down at Euphemia, and as was his habit, stroked Euphemia's head with his hand, giving her a gentle smile and saying, "I'm sorry, Euphemia, I made you worry. It's all right now. You should go back and rest, or you won't be pretty anymore."
When Yuffie heard Summit say that, she shook her head and said, "I don't want to. I want to stay with Brother Summit."
