Seeing Summit's puzzled expression, Shermie blushed and lowered her head. Seeing Shermie's shy demeanor, Summit roughly guessed the reason and decided not to dwell on the matter, instead asking, "Then why are you here?"
Hearing Summit's question, Shermie was lost in memories of the past, and slowly recounted, "Well... a year after Brother Tian fell into a coma, a priest who called himself Storm approached me... It was then that I learned that I was actually a member of the Heavenly God Clan... In order to retrieve Brother Tian's soul that had been sent to another world, Brother Storm once again used the power of the God Lord—the Great Serpent... And so, I searched for a very, very long time, and finally found you. Brother Tian, let's go back together!"
When Summit was surprised to hear that Die Mei wanted to take him back, he asked, "Go back! You said you can take me back?"
“Yes, if I also use the power of the God, I can bring Brother Tian’s soul back.” Shermie nodded and said excitedly.
“Anytime is fine?” Summit confirmed.
“Yes!” Shermie nodded.
Summit pondered for a moment before saying, "Alright, Shermie, you come with me for now, and when the time is right, we'll go back together."
“Great, Brother Tian!” Shermie said with a smile, taking Samit’s arm.
"Shermie, my name is Summit now."
“Okay, Brother Summit.”
“Uh… Shermie, I’m seventeen years old.”
....................................
Lloyd and Cecil stared at Shermie, who was beaming as she linked arms with Summit, for a long time. Cecil couldn't help but ask first, "Um... Summit, could you introduce her?"
“Ah… I almost forgot. Shermie is a very skilled fighter and also a superhuman. As you saw before, she came all the way from the EU to find me. Shermie, this is Mr. Lloyd and Ms. Cecil, they are my friends.” Summit immediately pointed to Shermie and said.
"A superpowered person? It's like watching TV. I'm Cecil Kormi, nice to meet you," Cecil said with a smile.
“Lloyd Asprinde, nice to meet you,” Lloyd said immediately, adjusting his glasses, his eyes flashing with a sharp light.
“Alright, Miss Cecil, I’ll show Shermie around. I’ll leave the work here to you. I’ll be going now.” Summit saw Lloyd’s expression and knew he was after Shermie, so he immediately said to Cecil.
"Of course, have a safe journey!" Cecil thought about it and said with a smile.
“Um, Summit…” Before Lloyd could say anything after Cecil finished speaking, Summit had already pulled Shermie away and disappeared from their sight.
"So fast."
Chapter 368 Lieutenant Sherme
In Summit's private room, Guildford looked at Shermie standing in front of him and asked Summit, who had suddenly summoned him, "Your Highness Summit, who is this?"
Seeing Guilford's somewhat strange look, Summit hurriedly explained, "Lord Guilford, she is my friend, a fighter with extremely high skill in combat. Ordinary people are like ants in front of her. I would like you to arrange an identity for her, so that she can temporarily serve as my elder sister's personal bodyguard."
"A fighter?" Upon hearing Samite's introduction, Guilford immediately began to scrutinize Shermie standing before him. Having followed Cornelia on her campaigns, he had no experience with women. However, in his eyes, Shermie was simply a beautiful woman, both in terms of figure and face. He found it hard to believe that this delicate beauty was a skilled fighter, but he didn't know what to say.
“Lord Guilford, are you doubting me?” Seeing Guilford’s hesitant expression, Summit smiled slightly and questioned him.
“I wouldn’t dare, it’s just…” Guildford said hastily.
“Alright! You don’t need to explain. Some things can’t be judged by appearances alone. Let’s give it a try!” Summit waved his hand, indicating that Guildford didn’t need to explain, and then looked at Shermie, who was acting shy, and said with a smile.
"Give it a try?" Guildford asked doubtfully.
Sami nodded confidently and said, "Yes, you and Shermie will have a match." He added at the end, "I grant you permission to use KnightMare."
"What?" Guilford's pupils contracted in surprise when he heard Summit say this. He didn't think Summit was joking.
...............................
Half an hour later, on the parade ground, twenty tall and burly soldiers stood in a row in the center, confronting Shermie. Not far away, Summit, dressed in knight's uniform, stood side by side with Cornelia and Euphemia. Behind them stood Dalton, Guilford, Suzaku, and their personal guard.
"Samit, is she really as powerful as you say?" Cornelia asked doubtfully, looking at Shermie, who was confronting the soldiers.
“In terms of close combat alone, I’m afraid even Suzaku wouldn’t be able to beat her, except for me,” Samit said with a smile, looking at Shermie, who had her back to him.
“Not even Suzaku.” Yuffie was startled when she heard Summit compare Suzaku to Summit. She had always thought Suzaku was very powerful, just not as powerful as Summit.
"Your Highness Cornelia, Lord Summit, everything is ready." Guildford said, bowing to Cornelia as he looked at the soldiers who were already prepared.
“Then let’s begin!” Cornelia nodded and said calmly.
After Guilford announced the start, Summit immediately shouted at Shermie, "Shermie, be careful not to go easy on her!"
“I understand, Brother Summit,” Shermie said immediately, turning around with a smile.
Seeing that Shermie had her back to them, the soldiers who had been summoned were furious. Even though she was a beautiful woman, she shouldn't insult them like this. One soldier charged at Shermie and swung his sword at her neck, intending to end the fight in one blow.
"Thump!" A dull thud rang out. The soldiers who had charged towards Shermie collapsed unconscious on the parade ground after passing her. Aside from Summit and the somewhat athletically gifted Suzaku, everyone else was baffled. Before they could figure it out, Shermie moved, transforming into three figures and charging towards the soldiers. She kicked three of them unconscious first. Then, before the remaining soldiers could react, a flash of lightning struck, and all the soldiers felt their bodies completely paralyzed and out of control. A sharp pain shot through their abdomens, and they were sent flying backward, clutching their stomachs and groaning.
"So fast." Suzaku, the only one besides Summit who clearly saw Shermie's movements, immediately praised her. Then, full of doubt, he asked, "Lord Summit, what was that light?"
"I'll tell you later." The battle wasn't over yet, and Summit teased Suzaku for a bit.
As twenty soldiers fell, a Sunderland helicopter, unloaded of live ammunition, flew from the other side of the parade ground and rushed toward Shermie. 'Rat-a-tat-tat...' Paint bullets, used for theatrical purposes, swept toward Shermie without restraint. As the bullets approached, Yuffie, standing next to Summit, immediately grabbed Summit's clothes tightly, clearly worried about Shermie's safety.
As the bullets approached, Shermie seemed to have gained a pair of roller skates, her body slightly bent as she moved in a beautiful arc to a distance of more than ten meters. Then, with one hand on the ground like an athlete on a balance beam, she flipped several times to dodge the ensuing attacks.
"Rat-a-tat-tat... Click-click..." The pilot fired wildly, trying to leave a mark on the petite woman, but the machine gun had limited ammunition, and the continuous 'click-click' sound signaled the end of the ammunition. "Damn it!" the pilot roared in the cockpit. In his anger, he forgot his superior's orders and deployed the melee weapon on his arm, preparing to finish off the beauty in close combat. "Where did she go? There... there?" Shermie had disappeared, seemingly vanished inexplicably from the square. The pilot immediately searched anxiously, losing his composure in his rage and forgetting that the Sunderland he was piloting possessed the most advanced thermal detection system.
"Creak..." Just as the pilot was searching for Shermie's figure, the metal shell of the cockpit suddenly made a sound of being unable to bear the weight, and several fist marks appeared on it. Then, before the pilot could understand what was happening, the image on the screen suddenly disappeared, turning into countless white static dots. The pilot, who was originally struggling to survive, also received the order from his superiors to end the battle.
Seeing that Shermie had destroyed Sunderland's sensors, Summit immediately clapped his hands in delight. Fortunately, he had told Shermie about Sunderland's weaknesses beforehand; otherwise, Shermie would have had to destroy the entire Sunderland to win.
"The battle is over, Shermie should be able to stay by His Highness the Governor's side now!" Summit said to Cornelia with a smile as Shermie walked towards him. He then gestured for Shermie to come over.
"To be my bodyguard? That's a good idea. But forget it, let her stay with Euphemia. I already have Guildford." Cornelia looked at Shermie, who had walked to Summit's side, and nodded and then shook her head as she spoke.
“Your Highness.” Guildford, who was standing to the side, was overjoyed to hear Cornelia’s words and said excitedly.
"Really? My sister, that's wonderful!" Euphemia was very interested in Shermie and immediately thanked her happily. After speaking, she walked up to Shermie and began to observe her closely.
“In that case, let Shermie stay by Euphemia’s side with the rank of lieutenant! However, Shermie has not received formal military training and is a bit lacking in etiquette.” Summit smiled slightly at Shermie when he saw Euphemia’s appearance and said to Cornelia.
“It’s alright, I don’t mind,” Euphemia said hastily, afraid that Shermie wouldn’t be able to stay because of this.
“That’s settled then,” Cornelia said with a smile when Euphemia agreed. Summit breathed a sigh of relief; for him, as long as Shermie remained here with a legitimate identity, that was enough.
After confirming Shermie's identity, Cornelia glanced at the 20 soldiers Shermie had defeated and the destroyed Sunderland, frowned slightly, and turned to Dalton, saying, "Dalton, tell them to intensify their training. With this kind of strength, they simply cannot defeat ZERO and his rebels." Clearly, she was very dissatisfied with the performance of the soldiers.
Chapter 369 Lelouch, kill me!
Three days later, after hasty preparations, the inauguration ceremony of the administrative special zone—Japan—was held as scheduled, with over 20 indigenous residents of Area 11 attending. The small venue simply couldn't accommodate such a massive crowd, so most people had to gather in the open space outside, nervously watching the large screen outside. Meanwhile, leaders of several major world powers sat in front of the large screen watching the grand ceremony held by Britain in Area 11, though that wasn't their true intention.
On the high platform, several British officials and several Japanese representatives sat symmetrically on yellow sofas. Dalton and Summit sat on either side of Yuffie. Next to Summit, there was an empty seat, which everyone knew was the seat of the other protagonist of the ceremony—ZERO.
Summit gazed at the somewhat overcrowded venue and Suzaku standing not far away, sighing softly. In his heart, he said 'I'm sorry' to Suzaku, for these people were destined to die. A commotion erupted as ZERO, aboard the massive Gawain, flew openly into the venue. Because the footage was being broadcast globally, his appearance caused quite a stir, though most were shocked by the flight of the KnightMare, 'Gawain'.
"The opponent is ZERO. If there is any unusual movement, shoot him immediately."
"YES, my lord."
"Welcome, ZERO. To the Special Administrative Region—Japan." Euphemia immediately stood up from her seat and said to ZERO, who was floating in the air. She was very happy. As long as Lelouch was willing to join the Special Administrative Region, Summit would not fight with the Lelouch brothers.
“Euphemism, Britannia. Come down, I have something to say.” Standing atop Gawain, Lelouch looked at the excited Euphemia, then glanced at Summit, who remained motionless in his seat, and spoke arrogantly.
"Tell me?" Yuffie asked, puzzled.
“Yes, it’s just the two of us, you and me,” Lelouch nodded, emphasizing.
"Okay." Euphemia nodded in agreement, thinking that Lelouch wouldn't do anything to her.
Seeing that Euphemia readily agreed to speak with him alone, Lelouch was taken aback. Then, realizing that Summit might have already revealed his identity to Euphemia, he dismissed his doubts. At this point, Lelouch hadn't yet acknowledged Euphemia because of Summit.
After checking and confirming that Zero was unarmed, Euphemia immediately gestured to Lelouch to come to the G-1 command ship for a private conversation. Seeing this, Suzaku finally couldn't help but say, "Princess Euphemia, it's too dangerous for you to be alone with this man. At least take me with you!" He was genuinely worried about Euphemia's safety, fearing that Zero might use some underhanded scheme to harm her.
Euphemia, of course, wouldn't bring Suzaku along; otherwise, the negotiations couldn't begin. She gave a confident smile and said, "It's alright, Suzaku, please trust me!"
Seeing Euphemia's confident expression, Suzaku opened his mouth and said, "I understand, Your Highness. I wish you success." Suzaku bowed slightly and gave Euphemia a knightly salute. He could only choose to trust Euphemia now and pray that ZERO would not harm her.
Entering the command center of the G-1 command ship, Lelouch methodically shut down all the electronic facilities, then slowly removed his mask, revealing his handsome face to Euphemia.
"You're really careful! The cameras are all off." Euphemia said slowly, having already prepared herself for Lelouch's actions.
"Because I've been hiding my identity all this time, and because of a certain empire, you don't seem surprised at all by my identity!" Lelouch said with a cold smile, looking at the calm Euphemia. He then pulled a pistol from his pocket and pointed it at Euphemia.
Outside the G-1 command ship, Summit, sitting on the high platform, felt his heart suddenly race, a strange sensation washing over him, and a flash of red light appeared in his eyes. "This feeling... could it be..." The strange sensation in his body led Summit to suspect that this might be due to Lelouch's berserk Geass. To ensure the next part of his plan could proceed, Summit stood up and walked backstage.
“Lord Summit, what’s going on…” Dalton asked immediately when he saw Summit suddenly leave his seat.
"I'll be back in a bit," Summit said before quickly leaving.
At the same time, Suzaku fainted on the spot after coming into contact with CC, who jumped down from Gawain. The guards next to him immediately drew their pistols and rushed over angrily, but as soon as they got close to CC, they followed in Suzaku's footsteps and fainted on the spot.
Summit, who happened to arrive, frowned upon seeing this scene. He walked over to CC, helped her up, and asked, "Are you alright, CC?"
"I'm fine," CC said with a smile, covering the glowing symbol on her forehead.
"That's good. Hurry up and start Gawain, things might have gotten much worse." Summit immediately picked up CC and lightly jumped, landing gracefully on Gawain's shoulder, and placed CC into the cockpit.
CC nodded slightly and closed the cockpit door. Watching the door close, Summit's lips moved slightly, and he smiled at CC inside the cockpit, saying, "CC, I love you."
Hearing Summit say that, CC smiled and said, "Me too." But by the time she finished speaking, the hatch had already closed completely.
Looking at the barely closed hatch, Summit's face showed a hint of sadness. He whispered "I'm sorry" and then jumped off Gawain's shoulder, walking towards the G-1 command ship.
Soon, Summit, heading towards the command room, ran into Euphemia, who, just like in the original story, had been hit by Lelouch's Geass. Seeing Summit approaching, Euphemia, who was running with her pistol in hand, stopped and said innocently, "Summit-nii, what are you doing here? Perfect timing, Summit-nii, let's go kill all the Japanese, shall we?"
"Okay!" Seeing Yuffie, who was clearly different from usual, Summit smiled gently and patted Yuffie's head as he spoke.
"Really? That's great!" Euphemia exclaimed excitedly. Even though Euphemia, under the influence of Geass, was obsessed with killing all the Japanese, she couldn't shake her naive nature. "Let's go!" Euphemia said, grabbing Summit and running outside. "Ugh!" After taking only two steps, Euphemia let out a muffled groan before Summit knocked her unconscious.
"I'm sorry, Euphemia. I hope you have sweet dreams." Looking at Euphemia, who had fainted in his arms, Summit said softly with a gentle expression, then lightly kissed Euphemia's smooth forehead. Then, a red light flashed in his eyes, enveloping the unconscious Euphemia.
A moment later, Lelouch, wearing his mask, rushed over. At the same time, the light surrounding Euphemia dissipated. Seeing Summit holding Euphemia, Lelouch breathed a sigh of relief, activated the mechanism on his mask to reveal his left eye, which glowed red, and said apologetically, "I'm sorry, brother, my Gerss went berserk, Euphemia…"
“Lelouch, you don’t need to say ‘sorry.’ I’ve already removed the Gerss from Euphemia,” Summit said with a smile, looking at Lelouch’s apologetic expression.
"What? That's great..." Lelouch was taken aback when he heard Summit say that, and then said with a face full of relief.
"Lelouch, is it really just because of the berserk state? Euphemia's Gerss..." Lelouch's change in expression did not escape Summit's eyes. He gently picked up Euphemia and looked at Lelouch with a smile, asking.
“Hmm…” Lelouch was stunned by the question, because when he gave Euphemia the order, his Geass did not go berserk; it was intentional on his part.
Seeing Lelouch's reaction, Summit chuckled and said to him, "Haha... never mind, none of that matters anymore." He then picked up Euphemia and started walking towards the outside of G-1. Halfway there, he turned back to the astonished Lelouch and said, "Lelouch, kill me!"
Chapter 370 The Massacre and Summit's Death
"Lelouch, kill me! After I kill all the Japanese outside for you, in exchange, you can't hurt Euphemia and Cornelia anymore."
"Brother, what...what are you saying!" Lelouch looked at Summit's eyes, which were gradually turning cold, and suddenly felt a chill. He asked in surprise.
