Deple couldn't explain why he did it. Perhaps he was afraid the child would be sent back to William's house before he could be baptized. Perhaps he felt he wasn't worthy to be Puby's father.
In the bustling crowd, Dipple spotted a muscular blond man.
“Mr. Matthew?” Depp asked.
Matthew smiled obsequiously and nodded: "It's me, Mr. Prince."
Depp placed his daughter in Matthew's arms and stuffed a thick roll of pounds into his hand.
Matthew's smile suddenly became even more genuine.
“Mr. Matthew, please take good care of my daughter.” Depp’s voice was filled with suppressed reluctance. “I will come back to see her after the Christmas holidays.”
"Don't worry," Matthew patted his chest. "The Lord always has more compassion for women and children."
Dipple nodded, then hesitated for a couple of steps before taking a few more.
Just as Matthew was about to turn and leave, he noticed that the big spender had turned back.
“Mr. Prince, is there anything else you need?” Matthew asked.
Depp paused for a moment, then took off his expensive watch and placed it in Matthew's hand: "You must take good care of my daughter."
Depp took two more steps, then stopped again, and took off the decorative ring from her hand...
It took Depp ten minutes to walk from the corner to the church entrance. Aside from his wedding ring, he had given all his other jewelry to Matthew as a custody fee.
Are all rich people this strange? Matthew didn't understand, but he was happy for this sugar daddy to come back a few more times so he could make a fortune a few more times.
I'm so sorry, so sorry, so sorry...
Dipple closed her eyes as she looked at the snow-covered sky.
Poppy, Daddy will come back.
Dipple closed his eyes and made the sign of the cross on his chest.
Lord, I am guilty.
Please don't forgive me.
Please forgive my daughter and give her the life of an ordinary child.
Chapter 114 Accidental Killing
Dipple got into the car and waited at the church entrance.
Not long after, Matthew ran out of the church carrying Prarese, calling out something.
The priest, who was catching up with the believers, looked at him with a puzzled expression, then hurriedly walked towards Matthew.
Seeing this, Dipple started the car and drove towards Southend on the coast.
Southend, a coastal town.
Sylvia suddenly opened her eyes and woke up from her dream.
Her hair was completely soaked with sweat, sticking to her body and face, making her feel extremely uncomfortable.
Sylvia rarely dreams. She has a talent for divination, and for her, each dream is more like a prediction of the future.
Five or six years ago, after being mocked by her dark-skinned cousin Snape, she dreamed that she was drinking at Three Brooms. The landlady served her a drink, but it was the kind that Three Brooms didn't sell in reality—vodka.
“Vodka can warm your body,” said Ms. Rostamer in the dream. “But students shouldn’t drink too much; it’s bad for their health.”
Vodka points to Siberia, and Sylvia finds her favorite drink on the icy plains.
While dozing off today, she had another dream, this time about her Aunt Eileen. Eileen married Tobias Snape for love, but her marriage was filled with unhappiness.
Sylvia heard from her family that her aunt's husband was an alcoholic and abusive, and an incompetent man.
Sylvia's father, Ryan Prince, vehemently opposed Erin's relationship. Ryan declared that if Erin dared to marry this Muggle, he would disown her!
Nevertheless, when Ryan learned that his nephew Severus Snape was doing very poorly, he gave Sylvia some money so that she could help her cousin.
Snape would never accept that!
He swatted the Galon away, and amidst the clanging sounds, he sneered, "I don't need anyone's pity."
Sylvia, who thought she could have relatives and friends her own age, was furious. That filthy, greasy Snape! Let him rot along with his ridiculous pride!
In Sylvia's dream, Aunt Eileen was still a little girl.
She was rummaging through her bedroom—which later became Sylvia's bedroom.
"Eileen, dinner's ready!" Ryan called out.
Eileen said anxiously, "Wait a minute, Ryan! I'm looking for something!"
Ryan pushed open the door and peeked in, asking, "What are you looking for?"
"My Peter Rabbit," Eileen said, her voice trembling with tears, "my Peter Rabbit is gone."
"Mom probably took it to wash!" Ryan said nonchalantly. "Let's eat first."
Eileen wiped her face and walked out, crying.
Sylvia's napping posture was incorrect, and her neck was a little sore. She twisted her neck as she walked towards the second-floor balcony.
There's a recent stargazing logbook on the small table on the balcony.
“Mercury retrograde… Hmm, it is indeed related to loss.” Sylvia said thoughtfully, “The star chart is missing… Let me think, Scorpio and Pisces, if they were lost… unable to let go, long loneliness, deep emotional trauma?”
Eileen's lost Peter Rabbit, her father Ryan said, was taken by her grandmother to be washed...
Sylvia couldn't figure out what she could have lost. Could it be the divination items she had left with Sophia? She could just buy new ones.
The sound of a car approached from downstairs. Sylvia shook off her jumbled thoughts and headed down.
“Deep, what did Winnie say?” Sylvia asked as she walked.
Depp Williams stood in the center of the living room, but surprisingly did not answer the question.
Sylvia asked, somewhat puzzled, "Did she mess with you? Did she use magic on you?"
Dipple shook his head.
Sylvia breathed a sigh of relief: "I didn't expect that her temper would actually improve over the years."
Dipple pursed his lips, his Adam's apple bobbed, and his eyes flickered.
“Hill,” Deepell said hesitantly, “if… I mean, if Puby suddenly lost her magic, would you be sad?”
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Sylvia said in surprise. "A mentally healthy and sane wizard doesn't suddenly lose his magic."
However, a wizard who has been completely drained by a Dementor may temporarily lose the ability to use magic.
“That’s not necessarily true,” Dipple said, fidgeting with his keys and pouring water. “I’ve read that some witches lose their magic because of a priest’s holy water…”
Sylvia blinked and said slowly, "William, tell me, what are you nervous about?"
Dipple stopped what he was doing.
"Are you hiding something from me?" Sylvia continued.
Dipple remained silent.
Sylvia gripped the stair railing, stepped down the stairs, and walked to Depp's side: "William, what do you mean by a witch losing her magic because of a priest's holy water?"
Depp closed his eyes: "Hill, I didn't go to your witch friend's house."
"Where did you go?" Sylvia asked, clinging to her last hope. "At Dr. Antonio's house?"
“Another Anthony,” Depp whispered, “a priest.”
“Deeppur William!” Sylvia’s eyes widened. “Are you crazy?!”
“I’m not crazy!” Dipple helped Sylvia up and explained urgently, “I’ll bring her back after Puby’s baptism. It’ll be around the time after the Christmas holidays, not long. I’ve got everything arranged.”
Snapped--
Sylvia slapped Dipple hard across the face, turning his head to the other side.
“William! You’re her father!” Sylvia said angrily. “She’s a witch! You sent her to church! Are you even human?!”
Dipple remained silent, like a statue that could not make a sound.
Sylvia's hands were trembling, her mind was a mess, retrograde Mercury, water signs, and her young daughter were flashing through her mind.
It wasn't Peter Rabbit that was taken away without permission, it was her daughter Praris!
“I am not human,” Deep said in a calm voice. “I’m sorry to Puby, but everything will be alright soon. All the abnormal forces, the terrifying forces, will disappear.”
“Deepple Joseph William!” Sylvia shrieked. “Have you ever considered that by your standards, I’m the most abnormal one? I’m the child of a male and a female witch through and through! I’m the one who knows the most magic! Why don’t you send me away instead of my daughter!”
“You are my love!” Dipple shouted.
“Pubie is your daughter!” Sylvia exclaimed in despair.
Dipple fell silent again.
“Where did you send Pubi?” Sylvia asked. “I’ll bring her back right now.”
Sylvia no longer wanted to know what her husband was thinking.
She now has only one goal: to bring her daughter back immediately!
“Hill, I won’t tell you,” Depp said firmly. “After Christmas, after Christmas I will personally bring her back.”
Sylvia took a deep breath. How she wished she were Severus Snape, so she could force Deepell to give her a truth serum and have him tell her where her daughter was.
Unfortunately, she only excelled in Potions and never intended to work as an apothecary. Even more regrettably, Hogwarts didn't teach Legilimency.
At this point, there are no more options left.
Sylvia felt pain all over her body—her head, her stomach, her legs…
But these were her mistakes. Falling in love with Deepple was her mistake, concealing her identity was her mistake, and believing Deepple was also her mistake.
The root of all the mistakes lies with her, so she should correct those mistakes and save her innocent daughter.
She raised her wand and pointed it at Deeple.
Depp stared at her in astonishment: "Hill, are you going to use magic on me?"
“I will never apologize to you for this,” Sylvia said hoarsely as she cried, “My soul left my body!”
