As soon as Winnie saw Prarese appear on the stairs, she waved to her.
Praris immediately ignored Harry and the others and walked toward Winnie.
“Tonks, this is our kid.” Winnie patted Tonks on the shoulder. “Plares, this is Tonks.”
“Miss Tonks…” Praris smiled slightly, “It’s rare for you to leave work so early, isn’t it?”
"No, no, no, don't call me that! Just call me Tonks! Winnie said you can tell what I do right away!" Tonks exclaimed in amazement, "That's amazing! Do you study at Hogwarts? But I don't think I've ever seen you at Hogsmeade!"
Praris shook her head: "My parents aren't really suited to sign my papers, and my friends bring me Hogsmeade snacks."
In this respect, Harry admired Prares immensely—could the differences in personality between people really be that great?
When Gryffindor was the only one unable to go to Hogsmeade, he couldn't resist wearing an invisibility cloak and going out. Pralis, however, had never crossed that line, as if she had no such desire whatsoever.
Winnie said with a smile, "Prime, it was Tonks and Lupin who rescued Prime."
Praris's gaze immediately turned fervent as she looked at Tonks, and she said enthusiastically, "Really? That's really... Professor Lupin and Mr. Kingsley didn't mention it to me when they went to Winnie's house last time!"
To call her enthusiastic is only relative to her own personality. Prarese rarely shows great enthusiasm towards people other than her family.
“Lupin is more grateful to you than you are to him,” Winnie said with pride. “Your cheap wolfsbane potion has changed the lives of many werewolves. Apart from the extremists, the werewolves’ attitude towards Mystic has become volatile.”
Since werewolves only need to spend a relatively small amount of money to live a life not much different from that of normal people, why should they risk their lives for Voldemort?
Some werewolves who have begun to integrate into normal society are not very enthusiastic about fighting and killing. They also fear that helping Voldemort will lead to their ostracization from normal society again.
However, many werewolves have become accustomed to living on the margins of society, unable to take the first step, and do not believe that wizarding society will accept them.
Others have murder records and, even with cheap wolfsbane, cannot be reintegrated into society—not to mention some who never intended to be reintegrated, such as Graybock who bit Lupin.
Winnie started cutting her cigar, but Prareas snatched it from her hand with lightning speed. Prareas gave her a disapproving look and also took her cigar cutters.
"I never knew you had such a strong talent for potions." Winnie, whose lifestyle was considered unhealthy, shifted the subject with a wandering gaze. "I used to think your skill level was only up to mixing potions at Prim's shop. Speaking of which, you and your headmaster Snape seem to get along quite well?"
Winnie certainly knew Snape, but they had a terrible relationship. As for when she started to dislike Snape, Winnie couldn't remember; she probably disliked him from the moment she met him.
“Professor Snape is a true master of potions,” Prareus said without hesitation.
Winnie couldn't deny it. She said shyly, "If you plan to become a pharmacist at St. Mungo's in the future, you'll definitely have to learn from him. Sigh, being too talented isn't always a good thing..."
"Why?" Praris sensed something from this.
Winnie shook her head helplessly: "If you weren't still a student, staying at Hogwarts and never going out, the Mystic would definitely have his eye on you. You know, you're a Slytherin, very talented. Your potions have caused him a lot of trouble."
Besides the cheap wolfsbane potion, there are rumors that one or two wizards have escaped the Death Eaters' rampage thanks to spiritual potions.
This did not do the Death Eaters any good for their reputation, and Sluggigiggs Pharmacy no longer dared to sell the potion. The spiritual potion instead flowed into the black market, only available for private transactions.
"Huh?" Praris said in surprise, "I didn't know about this... My Galleons still arrived as usual!"
“I didn’t say I wouldn’t sell,” Winnie shrugged. “I’ll just sell it more discreetly and at a higher price.”
When the Weasley brothers returned from their shop, Harry and Ron told them about Prasris's situation—they had spent the entire day filling in the gaps in Prasris's identity!
Harry looked at Praris with a mournful expression, while Praris shrugged indifferently.
Prarese also had dinner here, and Winnie introduced her to Bill Weasley's fiancée Fleur, Mr. Weasley, and his wife Molly.
Sirius was the last to come down. He looked quite different from before; the gloom on his face had lessened considerably. But his attitude towards Praris seemed the same as before; he wasn't very willing to get close to her.
Prarese read lips and saw his conversation with Harry.
"Sirius, what's wrong? You look really strange!"
"Is this girl's last name Prince?"
"Yes! Is there a problem with that?"
"I really don't want to say this—nobody's ever told me! There's no doubt she's not Prim's biological daughter. Has Remus been brainwashed by that snotty drug?"
"But Sirius, why?"
"I can't say... Harry, I need to figure some things out first!"
Sirius felt that he and Lupin had been completely fooled by Winnie Brown.
Lupin initially told him the girl was Winnie's daughter. Later, Winnie said Prader was Prim Purnell's daughter. Now, Prader's last name is Prince!
He's a quick-witted guy; maybe the Dementors messed him up a bit, but he's far from being stupid.
Sirius went to prison before Sylvia. He only learned after his release that Sylvia had also been imprisoned.
Sirius Black almost knew without a doubt that Prader Prince was Sylvia Prince's daughter... she probably took her mother's surname!
Purnell seems like a man-hating person. It's impossible that she was actually married and her husband happened to have the surname Prince, and that she gave her child her husband's surname!
Dogs are just as intelligent as humans!
No, he's not a dog!
Damn Winnie, she tricked him again!
After the meal, Ms. Priscilla brought Winnie a plate of dessert and two cups of black tea, telling her to go play with Praris.
"You eat," Winnie said, shoving the plate into Prarese's hands. "Little Prarese, look how skinny you are! You wouldn't sell for much!"
Praris blinked, then opened her mouth and shouted, "Ms. Priscilla! Winnie's going to...uh...uh—"
"What's Winnie doing!" Ms. Priscilla responded from inside. "Darling, let me dry my hands!"
Mrs. Weasley's voice could still be heard from the kitchen: "In my experience with children, this is certainly nothing..."
"You brat!" Winnie muttered under her breath, then called out to the kitchen, "Molly's right, it's nothing!"
Prarese grinned maliciously, while Winnie was filled with impotent rage.
"Ahem!" Sirius coughed softly. "Um, Winnie... want to chat?"
It was really difficult for Sirius to say such things. But he wouldn't be so reckless as to talk about her imprisoned mother in front of the child—he'd probably get chased down by Winnie Brown.
"Talk to me?" Winnie asked in surprise. "What's wrong with you?"
Praris chuckled.
"What is M?" Sirius asked instinctively, then immediately realized it couldn't be a good word and quickly changed the subject. "I have something to ask you!"
“Wait a minute!” Winnie said, then looked at Praris.
"What is this dog trying to ask me?"
Praris read this information.
So she touched the waistcoat she was wearing.
"Sylvia".
The original owner of this vest was her biological mother, Sylvia.
Winnie and Prareas had developed a very good understanding. Even though Winnie didn't have Prareas's talent, she could still roughly understand what Prareas meant thanks to Prareas's precise expression.
Sirius knew very little about Praris, and of course he was unaware that Praris had already seen through his thoughts. Therefore, his so-called avoidance was futile.
Winnie covered her face, speechless at Sirius's silly behavior.
She whispered to Praris, "Play, you go back to your room and rest. Blake and I... will go upstairs to talk."
Prarese blinked, and she immediately took off the coat she was wearing over her vest and draped it over Winnie.
"Come back soon," she said.
The attic at number 12 Grimmauld Place.
"Aren't you going to light a cigar?"
Sirius racked his brains and came up with a really bad opening.
Winnie said with a touch of pride, "My kids confiscated the cigar cutter!"
What's there to be proud of!
Sirius grinned: "Harry also told me to go to bed early last night!"
“Oh.” Winnie looked at him with disdain. “Telling me this so I can compliment you on being in your thirties or forties and not even knowing when to sleep?”
“I said,” Sirius shouted, plopping himself into his rocking chair, “you’ve been yelling at me like that—this is my house!”
Winnie and Sirius's feud dates back to their school days; they've actually fought each other.
Upon learning that Winnie had sided with Voldemort, Sylvia was heartbroken and broke off all ties with her. Winnie then joined the opposing side, and they exchanged spells, both openly and secretly.
Winnie was very capable; despite being a lower grader, she didn't suffer any losses and created some obstacles for Sirius's domineering school life.
“So…” Winnie drawled, “you summoned me here just to kick me out? To kick me out of the Order of the Phoenix at a time like this?”
Winnie deliberately used harsh words to shut Sirius up. She knew very well that Sirius wouldn't send her away; otherwise, it would be repaying kindness with enmity and sending her to her death.
“Of course—of course not,” Sirius said calmly. “Do you remember Sylvia?”
“I remember it better than all of you combined,” Winnie said without hesitation.
“That’s not your child,” Sirius said firmly. “Plares is Sylvia’s daughter! Sylvia is our good friend, and you’ve hidden the fact that she’s your daughter. Now, Plaares is a Slytherin!”
Sylvia was very popular with the Gryffindors; despite being younger than them, she was their good friend.
This future fortune teller has given James and Lily individual readings on their love life, whether they will win the Gryffindor Quidditch match, and whether their pranks and nighttime outings will get them locked up.
—Thanks, that was a good calculation; I wasn't put in solitary confinement.
Lupin was the only one who was unharmed, while James and Sirius were both given a severe dressing-down by Professor McGonagall.
This is worse than being put in solitary confinement!
"Just tell me, you weren't put in solitary confinement!" Sylvia proudly waved her hands. "You're right! You're right!"
"That's incredibly accurate!" James rubbed his hands together, his eyes shining. "Master, please calculate Lily's fortune—hey, Sirius, I haven't calculated mine yet!"
For a time, James frequently spent money on Sylvia for love, making Sirius wish he could call the police and have this Hogwarts version of a gypsy junior arrested.
Sylvia, clutching the crystal ball, shouted at Sirius, "The stars are telling you you're in big trouble, Sirius!!!"
Later, they learned that Lily had also consulted Sylvia about how to avoid being harmed by malicious people.
The little man refers to James, who is driving her crazy.
Of course, it later turned into fortune-telling about love.
Sylvia was very dedicated; no matter what the "customer's" request was, she never smuggled in any personal favors or leaked the customer's privacy.
