Trusting Prader, influenced by these two individuals, was just as difficult for Harry as trusting the two individuals themselves. Moreover, Prader never hid his respect for Snape and his feelings for Malfoy.
Harry had no doubt that if Snape were to do something heinous, his apprentices would follow without hesitation and eliminate all evidence of the crime.
At the same time, Harry believed that Prarese knew this as well, so she didn't think Harry trusted her, his ally.
But Harry was truly fighting his instincts, whether Prareth believed it or not.
If Snape was Prairie's mentor, then Harry believed that Dumbledore was his mentor.
The moment Harry smelled the blood, if he hadn't still trusted Prass a little, he would have rushed in to find out what was going on! Instead of letting this tall, thin Slytherin girl block the way in front of the meeting room and then casually close the door behind her.
Just as they reached the kitchen doorway, Harry suddenly spoke.
“I’m sorry,” Harry said after a long struggle, finally speaking in a low voice, “You’ve done so much for us, but I’ve always doubted you—I apologize for that.”
Praris said calmly, "You know I can tell whether you're being sincere or not."
Harry looked up in astonishment: "I really mean it!"
He's innocent! He's truly sincere!
“So I accept.” Prarese’s lips curled up briefly for a second.
Harry felt he couldn't blame himself! Prareas didn't look like Snape at all, but sometimes, from certain angles, he inexplicably resembled Snape, which gave Harry the creeps.
Is she playing me?
She must be playing a trick on me!
One second Harry was sincerely apologizing, and the next second he had to admit that he had been provoked by this guy.
Praris didn't care what Harry was thinking.
She greeted Mrs. Weasley, then nudged Ms. Priscilla: "Ms. Priscilla! Dumbledore wants a bigger piece, extra sweet!"
“Darling, that won’t do—” Ms. Priscilla said without hesitation, “His teeth will rot!”
Praris said sincerely, "This time it's possible."
Ms. Prie turned to look at her, and Prarese looked at Ms. Prie sincerely. The two looked at each other for a long time, and then Ms. Prie nodded: "I'll make another one separately."
Molly was amazed; it was the first time she had ever seen Prim interact with their children—an interaction unlike any other family she had ever seen.
Winnie's capricious request was bound to be rejected by Prim, and pleading wouldn't work. But all Prarese had to do was gaze at him for a while and express her determination, and Prim agreed.
Molly found it strange and asked the same question.
Ms. Prie answered Molly's question: "Praris must have her reasons."
This family's relationship is really strange. The parents don't act like parents, and the children don't act like children; they're more like equal friends.
Molly fantasized that if James and Lily were still alive, perhaps their relationship with Harry would be the same.
Of course, Dumbledore got to eat his extra-sweet tiramisu and raved about it.
Professor Snape left after Dumbledore went downstairs. He would return to the Order of the Phoenix before the holidays ended to pick up Pramanix and take her back to Hogwarts.
In the afternoon, Tonks returned and brought Prarese another dozen gloves.
“Thank you, Tonks. But there must be some misunderstanding,” Praris said sincerely. “I don’t collect gloves, nor do I have that many hands.”
Prarese examined the increasingly ornate gloves: "Actually, this is a Christmas present I asked you to buy for Dumbledore—can you believe it?"
“Dumbledore!” Tonks exclaimed in surprise. “Does Dumbledore like gloves?”
Praris shrugged: "I didn't like it before."
Now, I can't help but like it.
"But I bought the women's version!" Donxton was momentarily flustered.
Praris laughed heartily: "It's alright, I think he's quite happy about it!"
Tonks was leaving soon, and Molly wanted her to stay for Christmas, but Tonks refused. Professor Lupin returned shortly after she left.
"Return to the base at off-peak times?" Praris asked Winnie meaningfully.
Winnie shook her head: "Mind your own business."
Prarees remained at number twelve Grimmauld Place until a few days after New Year's. The closer it got to returning to school, the more anxious Ms. Prarees became.
Every day, Ms. Prie would stew a large pot of mutton soup and make Prarese drink a big bowl, determined to round out her pointed chin in a short time. There were also large pork pies and meat-stuffed pies, which made Prarese so sick of meat that she was afraid to even think about it.
“I’ve never eaten this well,” Ron muttered. “I’m not saying my mother didn’t cook this much… but Harry, can you understand? There are three kinds of meat on this table, and there’s so much of each!”
Praris immediately raised her hand: "Ms. Priscilla! Ron says he'd like another bowl!"
Ron was shocked to see his bowl, which had just been emptied, overflowing again.
“I will take the place of the Fat Lady,” Ron swallowed, “and become the Fat Mr.”
Most terrifyingly, Harry and Ron believed that Prader and her mother had gone mad. Their persecution had extended to Dumbledore.
They watched as Prarese beckoned to Dumbledore, who had just returned, and said with certainty, "Sir, this is yours—drink it."
Moreover, Dumbledore actually finished it and even praised Lady Priscilla's mutton soup for its delicious taste.
Chapter 166 Christmas Pudding
After her last apology, Pralis no longer felt Harry's probing gaze following her.
This is a good thing, because for someone as sensitive as her, Harry's supposedly hidden gaze always bothered her.
Although she always observed others this way before—never mind, she's a hypocrite!
"Darling, can't you stay a few more days?"
Ms. Prie experienced separation anxiety, which caused her to lose her appetite and sleep for several days. She seemed to feel that once Praris left, she would never see Praris again.
Praris wished she could stay with Ms. Priscilla forever, but she truly left. Fate pushes people forward; a fledgling eagle cannot forever hide in the nest from the storm.
Prareus opened his arms and hugged them both, then walked beside Professor Snape and, like him, grabbed a handful of Floo Powder and scattered it.
The next second, Prarese found himself in Professor Snape's cold and damp office.
Snape strode to his desk and calmly said to Prarese, "Miss, you should have some free time after this."
"That's it."
Indeed, with the burden of the limb regeneration agent lifted, Praris was freed up for most of the time.
But Prarese didn't understand why Professor Snape brought this up.
“Miss, there are three things in the world that cannot be hidden.” Snape turned and looked at her intently. “A cough, poverty, and love.”
Snape himself had a deep impression of the latter two.
Snape wasn't used to discussing this topic with anyone, but he didn't want Prareas to have the same deep understanding of the statement as he did.
He would never forget how Prarese had pleaded with him in a low voice not to return to the convent, because of her poverty and hardship.
That gave Snape a rare chance to have some different dreams.
There was no Lily in my dream, no suffocating guilt and remorse that overwhelmed my senses like the sea.
That was about his impoverished childhood and early school life. Even in his dreams, he could smell the dampness and stench of rotting garbage in Spider's End, hear the clinking of bottles, the desperate cries of women, and the furious roars of men.
After that, Snape prepaid Praris's room and board for two months to the Leaky Cauldron.
—These are all things of the past.
Snape also experienced love, even though he thought his love was so ugly that it was shameful, so dirty that he despised it, and so despicable that he found it laughable. Yet, he did indeed have genuine feelings for someone.
Therefore, as someone who has been through it all, Praris and Draco's relationship is as simple and straightforward in his eyes as the potion-making process of an ordinary student.
When Snape finished criticizing Potter, the Slytherins burst into laughter. Prareus chuckled along, but his gaze inadvertently drifted towards Draco.
Even more ridiculous, Snape tried to get Draco's plans out of him, only to find that Draco was mimicking Prareus's tone of voice to make him seem more confident and convincing.
Did Draco really think that Prares was more persuasive because of her rhythm and tone of voice?
Of course, there are many more—some things that are more explicit and others that are more subtle.
Snape was too lazy to deal with the sticky, sweet things young people did, and most of the time he just let them be.
In short, love makes a person's gaze involuntarily fall on their lover, and love also makes a person adopt the habits of their lover.
Praris appeared calm as she said, “Sir, I don’t understand what you mean.”
“You should understand,” Snape said, his eyes narrowing sharply. “For the sake of his family, Draco is on a path of self-destruction. He doesn’t want me to interfere with his plans, thinking I’ll steal his credit…”
Draco felt that killing Dumbledore, as the Dark Lord had requested, would make his life better, since his family's misfortunes were all related to Dumbledore.
But not so.
Let's set aside whether Draco could kill Dumbledore, who had already broken the curse.
Premeditated murder can only tear his own soul apart! He will only kill his past self with his own hands!
If Draco is truly cruel, he will become as insane as the other Death Eaters.
If he harbors even the slightest pity or love, killing will torment his soul and cause him immense suffering.
Unfortunately, Draco did indeed have love in his heart. He pushed Pralis away, unwilling to let her know what kind of wicked scheme he was plotting.
Praris fell silent. Silence, like the air, was pervasive, yet it also choked him.
“Miss,” Snape said in a deep voice, “you’ve said it before, that running away won’t solve anything.”
It's still within the Christmas holiday period, and there aren't many people in the underground corridor.
Prarese's mind was filled with Professor Snape's words, which made her feel inexplicably short of breath and physically nauseous.
Professor Snape knew her very well and exposed her escapism during this time.
Yes, she knew perfectly well that she was running away and deceiving herself.
Dumbledore is a good excuse, isn't he? He and Harry play a crucial role in the upcoming wizarding war.
As long as she still bears the heavy responsibility of saving Dumbledore's life, she can put everything else aside and devote herself wholeheartedly to the research and development of the limb regeneration agent, without thinking about any other issues.
Prarese knew that this was an innate brain protection mechanism that steered people toward comfortable things rather than facing pain.
As for Draco?
The thought of having to confront the conflict between her and Draco, and the idea that the many places in Draco's heart that once held love for her might be forever filled with disgust and hatred, made it impossible for her to face reality.
