As for the spell to restore everything... it's not surprising that Praris couldn't think of it for the time being, is it?
Chapter 223 Murdering a Silver Arrow Frog
Prarese turned and left, leaving Filch standing there, clutching the portrait, his eyes wide.
Perhaps it was the existence of school rules that allowed him, despite being a Squib, to manage students who taught magic and restrict their behavior. Under these circumstances, Filch became someone who emphasized rules, but he actually preferred to change the rules in his own way.
For example, even though both are Hogwarts rules, he prefers Umbridge's rules. That gives him, the Squib, more opportunities to show off and teach those disobedient brats a lesson.
He said students weren't allowed to use magic in the hallways, but when Umbridge ordered the investigative team to use magic in the hallways to arrest DA, he didn't say anything.
Now, Prass ran away after finishing Snape's portrait, Filch himself said she was allowed to use magic in the hallway, and the headmaster even favored her... Filch couldn't find any reason to punish Prass.
A surge of anger welled up inside him, making Filch feel choked up.
"She's gone astray! Mrs. Lorris, she's completely gone astray!" Filch muttered angrily to himself. "Once I catch her doing something wrong, I'll teach her a lesson! I'll make her correct herself!"
"...Your erroneous ideas should be thoroughly corrected in practice."
Amicus stood before the students, his malicious gaze like a bat licking its wounds, smearing saliva all over them.
Praris's eyelashes fluttered slightly, and Amicus seemed even more excited than in the first lesson... Was he planning to do something?
"See those little animals and insects in front of you?" Amicus said with a sinister smile. "In the last lesson, you observed how to use the Cruciatus Curse. I asked you to practice it after class... Could it be that some of you didn't follow my instructions?"
His ugly, bloated face suddenly appeared before Lavender, and he shouted, "Have you been practicing the Cruciatus Curse?!"
"Ah!" Lavender was startled and retreated, stepping on Goldstein's shoe.
Goldstein wasn't frightened by Amicus. Instead, he was stomped on by Lavender, his mouth agape as if he were being trampled on a garbage can. He screamed silently and hissed as he gasped for breath.
Amykus suddenly rushed up to Parvati and questioned her, which startled her greatly.
“It seems you’re all a bit disobedient!” Amicus said meaningfully. “How can you possibly learn well in Defense Against the Dark Arts class like this?”
Amicus strode out of the crowd, a trembling smile on his face, and said, "I understand, I understand. Some students don't like Professor Alecto's boring theoretical lectures, they find them uninteresting, right?"
"This lesson, ho ho—" he said excitedly, "is a practical lesson! I want you to practice the pronunciation and hand gestures of the Heart-Rending Mantra, and the objects will be the insects and small animals in front of you!"
Lessons must be taught little by little. When Barty Crouch Jr. became a professor, Amycus had not yet returned to Voldemort's side! He naturally had no idea that Barty Jr. was torturing the spider with the Unforgivable Curse in front of his students.
So his first lesson was to demonstrate how to use the Crucifixion, and only in the second lesson did he begin to ask the students to use the spell on their own.
Amycus was a bit wiser than his sister Alecto; his teaching was a gradual process that progressively lowered the students' moral standards and destroyed their compassion.
Thus, this absurd scene unfolded as he unexpectedly and patiently began explaining the key points of the Crucifixion: "When casting the spell, you must abandon all weak thoughts, have strong faith and unwavering will, and a strong desire for the spell to succeed... Now, begin practicing!"
Praris nodded, looking at the salamander before him, and fell silent.
She could recite spells from the Hogwarts library and from Winnie's memories with ease.
In terms of sheer numbers, Amicus probably knows more black magic than anyone else, but she has no intention of torturing anyone or anything.
In her eyes, those who derive pleasure from tormenting others are weak and cowardly. Because their own hearts and strength are not strong enough, they need to find happiness in the suffering of others.
Pansy lay on the table, looking at the tiny silver arrow frog in the transparent jar in front of her.
The silver arrow frog is a unique frog-like creature with silver markings on its back. These markings are similar to the golden markings of its "brother," the golden arrow frog, but while the golden arrow frog is poisonous, the silver arrow frog is non-toxic.
The Golden Arrow Frog's venom can kill a medium-sized magical creature in one go. Its venom protects itself while indirectly protecting the harmless Silver Arrow Frog.
Before a storm arrives, large swarms of silver arrow frogs croak along the riverbanks, warning South American magical creatures and wizards to take cover. Their saliva is also a valuable ingredient for making potions.
Silver Arrow Frogs are friends of South American wizards. Even when they need to use the saliva of Silver Arrow Frogs to make potions, wizards will release them back into the forest after taking them.
Just as the British viewed robins, in the eyes of South American sorcerers, harming silver arrow frogs was unforgivable and evil.
now--
The harmless, non-toxic silver arrow frog, which even helps wizards, sits quietly in the bottle, oblivious to its tragic future.
"What are you hesitating for?" Amicus swept his gaze across the classroom and suddenly roared, "Cowards! The future of the wizarding world is being ruined by students like you, who can't even cast a spell!"
Amicus sneered, picked up the attendance book, walked among the students, and looked down at the small name card embroidered on his clothes: "Ernie McMillan, can't recite the incantation?"
McMillan shouted, "Professor Carroll! I don't want to learn such a spell! It's an unforgivable curse—"
“Talking back to the professor and disrupting class, Hufflepuff loses twenty points and gets a week of confinement.” Amicus interrupted him viciously. “Kid, you’ve disgraced the blood that flows in your veins!”
Amicus then walked up to the next person, Crabbe. He successfully cast the Cruciatus Curse, torturing a small lizard in front of him until it rolled belly-up.
“That’s more like it.” Amicus grinned. “Slytherin gets twenty points.”
As Amicus drew closer, Pansy grew anxious. She hastily raised her wand and chanted to the Silver Arrow Frog, "Crucible!"
The light emitted from the tip of the wand was almost colorless, and the Silver Arrow Frog showed no reaction whatsoever.
“I thought you wouldn’t dare,” Praris said in a low voice.
After the last lesson, Pansy showed fear of Amycus's behavior. She was afraid of the cruel torture Amycus would inflict on the wizard, and also sympathized with Draco's plight.
But when faced with the Silver Arrow Frog, although Pansy had no intention of torturing it, she still acted without much hesitation.
Pansy was a little confused: "But it's just a frog, isn't it? It's not like I'm supposed to hurt someone."
“That’s right.” Praris looked up in Amicus’s direction and said calmly, “It’s just a little frog.”
She hadn't had such a thought in a long time—this is the threshold effect.
Asking students to use cruel, unforgivable curses from the outset will inevitably lead to fierce resistance.
However, as long as these steps are broken down into watching the Crucifixion Mantra, learning the Crucifixion Mantra, using the Crucifixion Mantra on small insects and animals, using the Crucifixion Mantra on people, and taking pleasure in using the Crucifixion Mantra on people... once you start accepting the more acceptable behaviors mentioned earlier, you will be drawn into this vortex and gradually encouraged to complete things that you couldn't or wouldn't have done before.
As far as Prarese could see, the Slytherin students were surrounded by larger amphibians such as lizards, salamanders, and frogs.
Unlike Slytherin, where students in the other three houses are presented with arthropods like spiders and mantises, Gryffindor presents a much lower bar, featuring small, insect-like magical creatures.
“It’s okay if I don’t use it well,” Praris said softly to Pansy. “Let’s switch places, let me go outside.”
Originally, Pansy was only forcing herself to try. When she heard that Praris was willing to sit outside and be "tested" by Amicus, Pansy immediately felt relieved and moved inside without hesitation.
Praris moved to Pansy's position, looking at the innocent silver arrow frog with a peaceful gaze, and sighed inwardly.
She closed her eyes, searching her memories for moments when she wished the other person would feel pain.
This is rare, like searching for snow at the equator.
Was it after Harry injured Draco? She did want Harry to feel the same pain as Draco, but she didn't take pleasure in it. At that time, she wished Draco had never been injured at all.
Was it when she was casting the fart spell on Umbridge? It didn't seem so. She was simply standing up for Professor Sinister.
Praris's emotions always seem to be restrained; even when he is extremely angry, there is a valve called reason.
Okay, okay, we can't delay any longer.
Imagine that, Praris.
During the time I didn't witness, what kind of pressure did Professor Snape face from Voldemort, how much pressure did Draco suffer, and how did Winnie kneel before him and beg?
Did that bastard use Legilimency on them? What spells did Voldemort use to torment them, what threats did he use to command them, and what words did he say to humiliate them?
On the ocean of Praris's consciousness, dark clouds gathered in layers, and the wind blew the tides, raising waves as high as mountains.
Amicus walked up to Praris, watched as the girl coldly raised her wand, pointed it towards the Silver Arrow Frog, and calmly chanted, "Crucible."
A flash of light appeared, and the silver arrow frog hovered in the air, struggling desperately like a drowning person. Its legs twitched a few times, and it quickly fell onto the table and lay motionless.
Praris raised his eyelids, looked at Amicus, and revealed a smug expression.
A flicker of amazement flashed in Amycus's eyes, unable to hide his excitement at discovering a prospective Death Eater: "Well done, Prince! Slytherin, thirty points! I'll report your performance to Headmaster Snape!"
Praris's extreme indifference to life delighted him.
Over at Gryffindor.
Seeing Praliss's reaction, Seamus nudged Neville with his elbow: "See that? Wasn't that the same expression Snape had when he murdered Dumbledore?"
Neville hesitated, his fingers kneading together in front of his chest, almost forming a sign language gesture.
Not long ago, Ginny secretly told him that Talia was Praris—something only the three DA leaders knew.
He remembered Prareas stopping them from going to the Department of Mysteries and giving Harry Felix Freak. He even recalled further back, how Prareas had taught him about herbs and potion ingredients while he was being punished, making his time in solitary confinement much easier.
Neville couldn't understand it; he just felt that Prader didn't seem as cruel as she appeared. He simply felt that a compassionate witch like Hermione wouldn't become close friends with a cruel person.
“Professor Carlo,” Praris said with a smile, “may I have this Silver Arrow Frog? As an ingredient for making potions.”
“Of course, no problem.” Amicus became more agreeable. “You deserve it for your performance.”
After he finished speaking, he walked toward the next student.
Only after Amicus had walked away did Pansy grab Praris's hand from below and ask nervously, "How did you do that? Are you alright?"
Pansy regretted it; she didn't believe Praris could have such feelings.
Like Draco, she was used to relying on Praris and always felt that there was nothing Praris couldn't handle, so she subconsciously and happily accepted Praris's exchange.
But a person only has one heart! Pansy doesn't believe that extreme gentleness and extreme indifference can coexist in one person. Even steel will become brittle and break if subjected to extreme temperature changes.
But the truth is, the kind friend who gently comforted and embraced her and the witch in front of her who used the Cruciatus Curse with such skill are the same person—and she only had to face Amycus after switching places with Pansy.
Others are more concerned about what kind of person Prarese is, but Pansy only cares about whether Prarese is feeling well right now.
Praris closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and quickly opened them again, smiling at Pansy: "Of course, I am Praris, this is nothing."
That smile shattered Pansy's heart like a glass cup scalded by hot water.
When class ended, Prarese and Pansy left hand in hand with the bottle containing the silver arrow frog, ignoring all the criticism directed at her.
Pansy turned around fiercely and shouted in a shrill voice, "You anteaters! Go lick your long tongues at the ants!"
She angrily turned her head back, only to find Draco had appeared out of nowhere, and she even had to retort to him: "Draco, what's your mouth for! Why aren't you speaking up for Praris!"
Draco pointed at himself with his index finger, looking bewildered as if to say, "Did I do something wrong again?"
Praris smiled helplessly and touched Pansy's silky short hair that felt wonderful to the touch: "Pansy is so nice."
"Fine," Draco thought, "I'm superfluous."
"Is he targeting you?" Praris suddenly asked Draco.
Draco slowly lowered his eyelids and said, "Maybe."
