Ginny's eyes were filled with rage.
“And, Miss Weasley, Miss Lovegood, Mr. Longbottom, and Mr. Macmillan,” Snape said, as if taking orders. “From today until every weekend before Christmas, you will all be punished by doing after-school work in the Forbidden Forest under Hagrid’s supervision.”
McMillan breathed a sigh of relief. If it were Hagrid, it wouldn't really be considered a punishment.
In Prarese's eyes, the failure of Dumbledore's army was inevitable. Their only chance of success was that Professor Snape, for some purpose, intended to give them a taste of their own medicine.
“Crawb! This isn’t the first time, is it?” Daphne teased him in the common room. “You’d better watch your hair! Otherwise, with you everywhere, we really won’t know how to tell you apart!”
“Crawb!” Praris agreed with Daphne. “If you ask me, this kind of plucking isn’t a good thing. Otherwise, what will come even earlier than middle age is—”
“Bald.” Pansy chuckled.
Previously, during Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Crabbe used Amycus's Wicked Witch Bird to scare Pansy. Now that Pansy had a chance to mock Crabbe, she certainly wouldn't let it pass!
Crabbe's face flushed with anger: "So what if you stole my hair? You're still in solitary confinement—I think Headmaster Snape's punishment was too lenient!"
The Slytherins around them began to whisper among themselves. Indeed, handing these guys over to Hagrid for punishment was too lenient.
“The Forbidden Forest is no tourist attraction!” Prareus defended Professor Snape. “It has all sorts of dangerous magical creatures, including the most dangerous ones, those that have killed wizards.”
Chapter 226 I Beat Praris
"what?"
Praris stood in the principal's office, uttering a questioning sound.
Professor Snape wanted to pass on her "rights of use" to Slughorn because the old man was overwhelmed?
"Professor, this isn't right! Am I really going to be overwhelmed?" Praris cried out inwardly, quickly expressing her protest with her eyes: "Are you serious?"
Snape gave him an approving look.
"I won't do it!" Praris returned a hostile glare.
Snape shook his head almost imperceptibly, indicating that he had no better solution.
“Ah—of course,” Praris said with a smile. “It’s also doing our part for Hogwarts!”
Slughorn laughed heartily, "Mrs. Pomfrey is right, you are such a kind girl!"
What? Mrs. Pomfrey was involved too?
Praris felt a deep sense of betrayal.
During this period, she mainly focused her energy on monitoring DA's movements, teaching Astoria practical skills, softening Pansy's attitude, and studying the NEWT exam content.
She never intended to get involved in D.A.'s theft of the Gryffindor sword from the beginning.
Although in this matter, not participating is actually a form of favoritism. After all, Professor Snape's chances of winning are extremely high, and he had previously gone easy on Harry and the others.
Astoria was a bright child; she learned quickly and soon mastered many common dueling spells.
She began secretly cultivating some Slytherins who were dissatisfied with Voldemort's policies—mainly among the half-bloods in the fifth year.
Some people might wonder, how could there be people in Slytherin who are dissatisfied with Voldemort's policies?
Of course! Wasn't Pansy terrified that Praris might be kidnapped as a Muggle wizard? She was one of Praris's chosen targets.
Another target is Meryl's boyfriend, Evan, a sixth-year Slytherin.
Who could blame Meryl for being a Muggle-born Slytherin? Almost no one sympathized with her disappearance, nor did anyone truly understand Evan's grief.
But Evan would be sad, because he knew what a positive, optimistic, beautiful, and powerful wizard Meryl was.
Slytherin always preached the idea that Muggles were of low birth, but Meryl was not influenced by such claims. Instead, she actively learned and dared to try all new things.
“Meryl signed up for the Quidditch qualifying tournament,” Evan said. “Every year, right up until the last semester.”
Evan met Meryl at the Quidditch Selection Tournament.
"They won't want you!" Evan wasn't mocking Meryl; he meant it. "You're Muggle-born, and a girl! The last time Slytherin had female members, we weren't even in school yet!"
"Which school rule is this?" Meryl's round face was full of indignation. "Which school rule says that the Slytherin Quidditch team doesn't want someone like me?"
"What's customary is the absence of a written rule. If I win, I'll set a precedent!"
"But it's true," Evan urged Meryl. "You're wasting your energy, go back!"
Meryl strode onto the broom, chin held high, and said, "Mind your own business! I'll be the next Stuart!"
Meryl did a great job, really... Evan thought she flew much better than those big oafs, but she still wasn't selected.
"Actually, you fly quite well," Evan said softly.
Meryl's bright eyes were filled with tears as she whispered, "Of course I flew well...of course...it was worth all the time I spent."
Meryl's talent for Apparition was mediocre; she crashed into the auditorium many times, as if riding an out-of-control flying broomstick.
But Meryl didn't give up. Whenever she wasn't in class, she would run into people and walls in the auditorium, eventually passing the Phantom Test by stepping on the line.
Evan's words reminded Praris of something; the girl had once admired Praris's ability to apparite and had asked her for advice several times.
“Which Slytherin is as stubborn as her?” Evan sighed. “But Meryl says, ‘But she is a Slytherin!’”
"She is what Slytherin is, and she is not excluded from Slytherin just because she is different—Slytherin has never had a rule that dissent is forbidden."
“In ‘Hogwarts: A History,’ it says that Slytherin belongs to those with a strong will and determination. Meryl said that’s her.”
Meryl once told Evan that she never regretted being a Slytherin. Life inevitably brings setbacks, but what makes Meryl who she is is her ability to get back up time and time again.
Meryl has been hitting walls, in every sense of the word, and these walls she has hit have become part of Meryl's abilities.
Although she didn't become a Quidditch player, she gained a strong physique, a steadfast will, and an indomitable spirit. This enabled her to persevere when facing Apparition, making her one of the few Slytherin students to pass the exam on her first attempt.
Prarese discovered that he didn't really know anything about Slytherin.
Crabbe, Goyle, Zabini, Nott, and Daphne are Slytherins. Draco, Marcus, Pansy, and Astoria are also Slytherins. She herself, Meryl Streep, Stella, Regulus, and Professor Snape are also Slytherins.
Evan said with some surprise, "I didn't expect anyone else to think of Meryl... I mean, you're so outstanding, why would you care about ordinary Slytherins like us?"
“We’re all Slytherins, aren’t we?” Prare said honestly. “Meryl consulted me about Apparition. She’s a very diligent and impressive person.”
“Ah—” Evan said with a touch of nostalgia, “That’s something she would do.”
“Actually, I’m quite surprised.” Praris held the book and looked towards the Quidditch pitch. “I didn’t expect the policy to be so strict. Meryl is a Slytherin, after all, isn’t she? I thought they would let Slytherins off the hook.”
—No, this is a matter of lineage, not a matter of the academy.
“I think so too…” Evan said, head bowed. “As fellow Slytherin, I thought they would let Meryl go. Prince, do you think Meryl still has a chance to come back?”
Praris shook his head: "No, unless the Ministry of Magic's administration abandons its commitment to pure-blood doctrine."
“You mean—” Evan understood her implication and quickly looked around. “This, how is this possible?”
Praris smiled gently and said, "It's just a hypothesis."
Evan breathed a sigh of relief, moved his lips slightly, and whispered, "Actually... I've thought about that too. You won't tell anyone, will you?"
“Of course not,” Praris said calmly. “Meryl is a good girl.”
Praris would prefer Meryl to stay at Hogwarts rather than Evan. Just like their personalities when they were on the Quidditch pitch, Evan was not as brave as Meryl, nor as resolute.
But if Meryl hadn't been in exile, her fate unknown, Prareas wouldn't have been able to glimpse Meryl's powerful inner world from Evan's words.
In this world, there are gains and losses; that's just how it is.
Back to the present, Pralis was actually quite busy. It turned out that Professor Snape, after becoming Headmaster, had followed Dumbledore's bad example and was using her as if she were Professor Snape himself.
Slughorn patted his chest and said that he had gotten Praris a little helper who could share Praris's workload.
Praris was quite curious, wondering what kind of helper Slughorn was planning to find for his new assistant.
result……
Prarese stared at Ginny expressionlessly.
Ginny plucked two tattered leaves from her cloak and tossed them into the trash can on the corner of the table: "Slughorn asked me to help you."
That's actually quite reasonable...
Ginny was punished with after-school service for stealing the Gryffindor sword. She was also a member of the Slug Club and was acquainted with Slughorn.
With both factors combined, the only possible candidate is Ginny!
“Slughorn is in class,” Praris asked. “Weren’t you punished with weekend after-school service?”
Ginny pouted. "Slughorn said we could use this instead—you knew we were going to fail, didn't you?"
“Based on your skill level, that’s correct,” Praris said with a smile. “The small bucket over there is your task.”
Ginny had heard that Prader had taken on a lot of work for Snape, but this was the first time she had seen Prader working.
Prarese worked with both hands, boiling several crucibles simultaneously. She also processed some semi-finished products that her students would need for class while the reactions were still in progress.
When working, Praris is quiet and reserved. But her serious and focused attitude makes her look exceptionally elegant.
When it comes to potion-making, Praris seems to have no hesitation and no need to stop and think. She simply moves one action after another, decisive, efficient, and professional.
"Is it very good?" Praris said coolly. "Or do you want to stay a little longer?"
Ginny shuddered and quickly lowered her head to get back to work.
Almost an hour later, Slughorn returned, beaming as he looked at Prareas's work. "Prareas," he said with satisfaction, "you're just as talented as Headmaster Snape back then! No one your age can do better!"
"You flatter me." Praris wiped his hands with a handkerchief and put the tools back in their place. "Professor Slughorn, I'll head back now."
"Go ahead, go ahead!" Slughorn waved his hand. "How's Ginny?"
“I’m almost done too!” Ginny replied.
Honestly, Praris is incredibly fast; aside from the necessary potion reaction time, she hardly has any extra waiting time.
With so many potions, even a fifth-grader like Ginny couldn't finish dealing with them in a whole day!
Slughorn could do it too; last year he set up more than a dozen large pots in the classroom, teaching students to identify potions while also completing the task of making potions himself—he's very good at managing his time!
But with Praris as his helper, his job became much easier.
Slughorn couldn't help but recall that Dumbledore had said Praris would be a good fit as a Potions professor.
Prarese possesses all the qualities of ability, intelligence, perseverance, and patience. She also studied under Severus for a long time.
It was indeed a suitable idea, but... Slughorn thought regretfully, Dumbledore, who had proposed the idea, was no longer with us.
a few days later.
